As the last installment of this series, Kerry does a lovely job of tying up everyone's story. This last book focuses on Ian; describing his upbringing and how his mother shaped who he is today. The chapters Kerry writes about Ian as a child are heartbreaking and feel all too real. You can actually feel Ian's struggle and pain as a child dealing with a mother who has a mental disorder. I felt like Kerry could have gone just a little bit further in her chapters set in the present day. Some of the interactions between Ian and Amy didn't feel real. If I flew half-way across the world and found the situation the Amy did, there would be hell to pay especially after everything that James put her through. There are numerous revelations in this book which help Ian begin to heal from his childhood. The book of course ends on a happy note which leaves the reader pretty satisfied. All in all a good happily ever after.

Even though Ian is happily married, he struggles with being estranged from his parents, Sarah and Stu. Are the reasons they no longer speak still relevant 16 years later? Should he make one last effort to find them? And, if he does, can their relationship be mended?

I've very much enjoyed the first two books in this series, Everything We Keep (4 stars) and Everything We Left Behind (4 stars), but this one. Wow. This one outdid them all! I've loved seeing how the author's writing style has grown and matured throughout the series. Her words drew me in from the very first paragraph and never let go. I flew through this one because (1) I've been waiting impatiently for the final book in this series and (2) I needed to know more about Ian's childhood.

Everything We Give alternated between Ian's present with his wife, Aimee, and their 4 year old daughter, Caty, and his past growing up with a mentally ill mother and a father who frequently traveled while working as a sports photographer. Ian followed in his footsteps becoming a well known photographer in his own right. Ian, however, learned from his father's mistakes and always put his family first. He was an amazing husband and father and yes, I had a crush on him heehee. Like with any marriage, there were struggles and misunderstandings which made Ian wonder how many of his issues stemmed from his difficult childhood. Could finding his mother help heal old wounds and make him feel whole?

I would definitely recommend reading this series in order, and back-to-back, so you don't forget any of the details like I did. The finale to this trilogy was absolute perfection, bringing tears to my eyes several times. Don't miss this sweet, suspenseful, and romantic trilogy!

I received an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Ian Collins is married to the woman of his dreams and a father to his beautiful young daughter. As an accomplished photographer, he has just completed a successful show of his work when he gets a call from National Geographic. The magazine loves the images he did of the Rapa Das Bestas Festival in Spain, so much so that they want to send him and a writer back to Spain to get more images and a narrative for the magazine. There is even a good chance that this could be his chance to land the cover image. Everything is going great and he plans to celebrate with his wife Aimee. Except he can’t find her and she isn’t answering her phone. He finally finds her at a friend’s apartment and discovers that she has talked to James, her former fiancé who now lives in Hawaii. She is really shaken up and having a hard time. The next day, James comes to talk to Ian as well, which goes about as well as expected. Ian realizes that they will probably never see James again and is shocked when he gets a card from James with the phone number for a woman he has been searching for that may have answers about his mother. This brings to surface all of Ian’s abonnement issues that could further threaten his marriage. Can Ian manage to save his marriage and finally get closure for his past?

First of all, thank you to Kerry Lonsdale for dedicating this book to her readers. This series has been phenomenal and keep me anxious for each character’s backstory. Everything We Give is no exception. This book dives into Ian’s backstory, who had a substantial role in Everything We Keep and he fell in love with Aimee and was the right fit for her. Now readers get to understand what makes Ian have some of the issues he does. Young Ian’s mother had dissociative personality disorder, so she would shift between being people in her mind. I’m not sure how anybody could cope with this, but Ian become her primary caretaker until an event that led to his mother being placed in prison. He has carried this inside him for his whole life and never even opened up to Aimee, which becomes a bit of an issue to say the least.

I’ve always enjoyed the setting in California in an area that I know well, but shifting part of the story to Spain was amazing as well. Getting to read about a culture and events that I don’t know much about are always an added bonus. This is a very anticipated summer read that I can’t recommend enough. There are some minor cases of strong language and sensuality, but nothing too extreme. Grab this book or the whole series and enjoy every bit of it!

I received a complimentary copy of this book through the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.

Everything We Give is the third novel in Kerry Lonsdale’s Everything Series. Although each one of these books, can be read as a standalone, they are much more enjoyable, clearer, and richer, if they are read in order. Each novel builds upon the one prior. The first book is Aimee’s story, the second, James’s, and the third, Ian’s. I loved every book in this series, but I think book three is my favorite.

Aimee was content. She had a wonderful husband, Ian, a successful business, and a beautiful daughter. Aimee thought she had moved on from her ex-fiancee, James, the man she thought was dead, but found out, was alive; living in Mexico, under the name of Carlos. When James showed up in her life again, Aimee’s unresolved buried emotions, surfaced.

Ian is a professional photographer, and one of his dreams was about to come true. National Geographic was interested in his work. Ian wanted his wife, Aimee, to be the first to know about it. Aimee, however, was nowhere to be found. She was with James. Ian was afraid of losing his wife; every woman he’s ever loved has left him, including his own mother. His mother didn’t want him in her life anymore, or at least, that’s what his father told him. But, circumstances and people aren’t always what they first appear to be.

Ian’s childhood was lonely and heartbreaking. He was an only child of a mentally ill mother and a traveling workaholic father. Ian’s mother suffered from Dissociative Identity Disorder. Ian felt responsible for his mother’s safety against her most dangerous alter personality, Jackie. When Jackie’s behavior finally landed Ian’s mom in jail, Ian blamed himself. He was led to believe that he was the cause of his mother’s worsening mental illness. Ian lived under a heavy weight of guilt for many years until he finally discovered the truth.

Book three, Everything We Give is an engaging well-written novel, with developed and colorful characters, natural dialogue and an emotional but satisfying ending to the series. I read the book in one day because I couldn’t put it down. I absolutely loved this book. It’s bittersweet, heart-wrenching, touching, and thought-provoking.

Thank you, Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy.

it was amazing

Everything We Give” (The Everything Series Book 3) by Kerry Lonsdale

From a dead fiancé (James/Carlos) to finding the truth about what really happened; to a strong commitment and love between Ian and Aimee; to having one’s dreams come true, to a degree, reader’s have been taken from Mexico to Hawaii to India and many places throughout the US and abroad in this trilogy of loss, gain, love, fear, secrets, truths, ups, downs and everything in between.

These novels started out as Aimee’s story then Aimee and Ian’s story and finally Ian’s story.

In another incredibly written novel, Kerry Lonsdale brings caricature and background that are fitting to the drama laid out on each page. With the passion demonstrated in the previous two novels in this series, the author delves into the issues of loss, found, personal and others strength and weaknesses, the discovery of one self and the lines we have to sometimes cross and abide by as we seek answers and take advantage of opportunities that may push others aside, affect our relationships, and may turn out the way we would like and would not like.

Well written and extremely engaging, “Everything We Give,” is the finale one expects, one doesn’t expect and one will feel satisfied with.

This has been a wonderful series to read. Starting with the first book and up till now each story has been astounding.
Everything We Give is a wonderful story with deeper meaning, this story has given me insight into real life issues of mental health, (The whole series has really done this wonderfully).
I very much enjoyed reading about real life festivals that I had never heard of before, they are quite interesting.
But of course the best part about this series is the characters, I have loved reading about these characters from the beginning with Everything we Keep to Everything we Left Behind and now Everything We Give. To watch these characters from when they have been broken to see them heal and to see them find love, it has been a wonderful journey.
I can not wait to see what Kerry Lonsdale writes up next.
This series is best read in order.
I received this book through NetGalley.

Thank you to the publisher, Kerry Lonsdale and Net Galley for the amazing opportunity to read this entire series . I loved this series from book one and have been eagerly awaiting this final book in the series. I highly recommend the entire series as its one of the best series I have read and each book tells the story of one of the three main characters Aimee, Jamie and Ian and ties together their story with the plot of the previous books.

In this third installment, Ian was the focus. This is his story. He was a favorite character of mine from the previous books, always the voice of reason and patient while loving Aimee through her troubles. He and Aimee are married now and have a four year old daughter. He's a successful photographer and Aimee's in the process of expanding her coffee shop business which she built from the ground up and is highly successful. Ian is happy with his new life except he is still struggling to deal with unresolved issues from his troubled childhood.
Alternating from the past of his childhood to the present we came to understand just how difficult his childhood was and how it framed his fears he lives with for his new family, As he embarks on his own personal journey to alleviate his guilt and fears, the reader is swept into his story. As Ian takes off for a mysterious assignment in Spain, the author entrances the reader with location descriptions that place the reader with the character and we experience all the rich sights and sounds of Spain. As he searches for his long lost Mother, his ex enters the story and seeks him out. She catches him in a vulnerable state and soon Aimee is on her way to Spain to intervene. The remaining story is to be savored by all readers as this outstanding series comes to a exciting conclusion with heartfelt compassion and new beginnings for all the characters.
I loved this final book and look forward to further works by this fine author. The mark of a great author is how the reader is swept into the story and this series is one with each book I could not put down. Its outstanding.

This book is the third and final installment of the Everything series. While you can read each book as a stand alone, they will make far more sense when read in order. If read as a stand alone, you may be confused and end up with spoilers from the other 2 books in the series. Each book of the Everything series is an individual story, but each story is intertwined with each other creating additional moments not shared and story continueation.

Ian is married to Aimee and they have a daughter Caty. Ian is an award winning photographer who is on a mission to photograph for National Geographic. A mission that Ian has recently found out he has succeded in. Ian is waiting for just the right time to tell Aimee his exciting news. But with everything going in Aimees life, the potential opening of a new coffee shop and most pressing the return of her ex fiance, James.
James disappeared years ago just before Amiee and James were set to get married. James was believed to be dead, only to be found alive in Mexico with no idea who he is, living a life as someone else. Now, James remembers who he is, and who Aimee was to him. This return has caused an interruption in Aimees life and more stress than Ian and Aimee know how to properly handle.
Ian eventually decides to tell Aimee that he has been selected to be an on location photographer for National Geographic and will soon be sent to Spain. Ian buys plane tickets for both him and Aimee, with the intention of whisking her away from her troubles. However, those plans quickly change as Aimee begins to hide things from Ian.

Ian packs up and leaves abruptly for Spain. Aimee decides to meet him, so she boards a plane and off she goes.

Upon returning from spain Ian locates his long lost mother and finds his father.

In the end on relationship is rekindled and another is lost, but will it be who you think it is.

**** Personal attribute ***** I disliked this book the most out of the 3. I felt that the story was drawn out much more than it needed to be and did not resovle or answer any question left over from the previous books.

Everything We Give is the third installment in Kerry Lonsdale's trilogy. The first volume, Everything We Keep, focused on Aimee, while Carlos/James' story was at the center of Everything We Left Behind. The journey of Ian Collins, Aimee's husband, is showcased in the concluding installment.

James re-emergence and reappearance upended Aimee and Ian's relationship. But they have spent several months trying to get back on track -- Aimee is busy with plans to open two more cafes, while Ian has enjoyed successful gallery showings of his photographs and has an opportunity to shoot pictures for a story in National Geographic. Even though they are confident of their love for each other and commitment to their marriage and four-year-old daughter, Caty, Ian is ill at ease. One night he realizes what has been troubling him. While he has been frustrated that Aimee has not achieved complete closure concerning her relationship with James (his photos still hang in the cafe), Ian has not come to terms with his own troubled relationship with his parents. For years he has carried the guilt of believing that his actions cost his mother her freedom and tore their family apart. He's been completely estranged from his family for sixteen years and hasn't seen his mother for many more. He has no idea of her whereabouts and has sworn to himself that he will find her, but never made a concerted effort to search for her.

As he leaves on assignment for the National Geographic feature, he knows that he must finally find his mother and make amends. But James turns up yet again with a message from the elusive psychic who has intervened in their lives before. Time is of the essence. The assignment will not wait, and the psychic has designated a date and time when she will be available to meet with him -- at his childhood home in Idaho. At stake are Ian's career trajectory and information that might at last bring him peace about his tumultuous childhood.

Kerry Lonsdale reunites readers with Aimee, Ian, and James. As the story opens, James has fallen in love and settled in Kauai to raise his two sons, but returned to Northern California to tie up some old business. That includes delivering a message to Ian from Lacy, the would-be psychic who found him on the beach in Hawaii a month earlier and told him she knew someone who needed her help. Just as Ian is about to leave for Spain for the most important assignment of his career, forces seem to converge in an attempt to derail him. Aimee is tense, consumed with preparations to expand her successful business. But she is not devoted to the venture and questioning whether she has made the right decision. She is also bothered by the fact that Ian has not moved past her interaction with James months ago, despite her having explained it, apologized, and reassured Ian numerous times that she is devoted only to him and their family.

Through narration from Ian as a young boy, Lonsdale reveals the details of his traumatic childhood with a frequently absent photographer father and his mother, Sarah, who struggled with mental illness. Lonsdale conducted research to understand and write about Sarah's condition from the perspective of her child. Ian became the de facto parent in the relationship, caring for and watching over his mother while simultaneously needing what every child needs -- a loving mother to nurture him. While the entire story is enjoyable and touching, Lonsdale's writing is best in the chapters describing Ian's harrowing experiences and his eventual, permanent separation from the mother he adored. She also achieves just the right tone when exploring Ian's anger at and refusal to maintain a relationship with his father. She convincingly explains why Ian blamed his father for their family's challenges, citing his business trips during which Ian was left alone for days at a time with his mother. However, Lonsdale also credibly details Ian's adult journey to discover the truth about what happened so many years ago, as well as his readiness and ability to accept that his childhood perceptions were not always accurate. And with the love and support of his wife, Ian is able to find peace, acceptance, and forgiveness -- for himself and his parents.

Everything We Give is an emotionally satisfying and moving conclusion to Lonsdale's addicting trilogy. It is a bittersweet milestone for her readers -- with all mysteries solved, and all questions answered, it is time to bid good-bye to the beloved characters of Aimee, James, Ian, et al. But Lonsdale leaves them with secure, happy futures and readers richer for having joined them on their journeys of discovery.

Thanks to NetGalley for an Advance Reader's Copy of the book.

Everything We Give by Kerry Lonsdale is a beautifully written finale for this wonderful series! Even though this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand-alone book without any problems. Of course, you need to start with Aimee's story in Everything We Keep! This third book in the series features Ian, Aimee's husband. The story is very emotional and heartrending in scenes from Ian's youth. I do not want to post spoilers, but I felt the author captured the difficulties and conflicts within Ian's family with a very respectful skill. When the mother in a family has a mental deficiency or illness, the whole family dynamic is off-balance. The story is carefully crafted to reveal the understanding and love Ian has for his mother when her detrimental actions are beyond her control.
Aimee is the love Ian has longed for all of his life. Aimee has had some heartaches in her past, but she has confidence in her love for Ian. When James comes back to talk with Aimee, things do become a bit tense. I was so worried! And Ian leaves!
Ian needs to go to Spain for his biggest assignment ever, and he hopes to secure a coveted cover with National Geographic magazine. There he meets up with Reese, a woman from his past. Uh-Oh!
I would be remiss if I did not mention the trip to Spain and the wild Galician horses. The author writes of the pride of the villagers as they keep a tradition alive and interact with the herds to keep the horses healthy. When the Rapa das bestas festival is over, the horses are sent running wild and free!
All actions lead to a reaction. The story reinforced being respectful of the requests of others, even when we disagree or maybe do not understand why we are being asked to refrain from a certain action. Sometimes loving a person is not enough to help them in the way they need, but we can always be respectful of their inabilities to change, and love them from afar.
Everything We Give is as powerful as the first book in this series!

Everything We Give by Kerry Lonsdale

Brief Summary: The third and final novel of the Everything Series tells the story of Ian. Ian Collins, Amy’s husband, is a successful photographer and happily married husband and father. Like the other characters in this series, he carries secrets from his past that caused him estrangement from his father and took his mother out of his life. When James returns with a message for Ian, he decides to search for something that has eluded him in order to make peace with his past. I enjoyed the previous two novels in this series and was excited about this one!

Highlights: Ian growing up and taking responsibility of managing his mom’s Dissociative Identity Disorder. I also enjoyed Amy and Ian’s relationship and their travel to Spain for National Geographic Magazine.

Explanation of Rating 4/5: This book was not as engrossing as the previous reads in the series. However, my absolute favorite part was his mom’s mental illness and how this impacted Ian growing up.

Psychology Factors: Lonsdale did a fantastic job portraying Dissociative Identity Disorder; which is an incredibly misunderstood mental health diagnosis. My heart ached for little Ian’s understanding of the diagnosis as “other people live inside my mom.” Lonsdale hit on many aspects of living with the disorder such as sexual acting out, time lapses, and comorbid diagnoses of depression.

Favorite Quotes: “what is difficult for outsiders to understand as I think is the case with Amy and I sometimes wonder myself is why I still love my mom. It’s my belief that had she not had such a traumatic childhood and had I not played a role in exacerbating her mental illness she would still love me. She would not have left me.” Often times family members blame themselves for causing or exacerbating mental illness in their loved ones in ways beyond their control.

It was bittersweet to enjoy the final chapter of this series and say goodbye to characters I’ve really enjoyed reading about the past couple years. This book could serve as a standalone novel but it’s hard to appreciate the character’s journey without reading the previous two novels. This is a great read for book clubs, mental health practitioners, and those who’ve been touched and affected by mental illness.

Thank you to Net Galley and Lake Union Publishing for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review

I have enjoyed both other pieces to this puzzle (Books 1 and 2). If you have yet to read those, I would skip my review until you have, there are some spoilers in this 3rd book in the series.

While I enjoyed this book, I found this one to be slightly slower and it took a bit for me to get into it, unlike the other two.

This book concentrates mainly on Ian's life, current and year's ago when he was a young child. We learn about his mother with a split personality, one side being very abusive, her name was Jackie.

Despite his mother's mental issues and the abusive care he suffered at her hands, he has never stopped thinking about her and wondering where she is.

Some time ago, he was in touch with a psychic and recently has decided to put more efforts into looking for her and connecting with his father.

He gets the dream job of a lifetime, to photograph for National Geographic and along the way he gets this sudden urge to look for the keys to his past as well.

He and his wife Aimee go through a few ups and downs in this third book, will they survive? Will he find his mother? Reconnect with his father?

Enjoy this third book in the series which starts to connect some missing pieces and has some challenges along the way.

This book is the third installment of Kerry Lonsdale’s ‘Everything’ series. While in the first book we learn Aimee’s story, the second one is dedicated to James (Aimee’s childhood love). But now we finally get the conclusion we’ve been waiting for....Ian’s story!

I fell in love with this character in book #1. While I don’t want to give anything away, most readers are either #teamJames or #teamIan, I am 100% team Ian. To understand what I mean by that, you’ll have to read the first two books!!

I absolutely adored this book! After getting to know the characters and caring about each one, it was great to read about how their story concluded.

As with the first two books, this one gives us the perfect amount of insight into their lives. The emotion and chemistry between Aimee and Ian is unlike any other. I think what I liked best was the parts of the story that were told about Ian’s childhood. We learn just who Ian is, and It made me like him even more.

Lonsdale is a great author who knows how to suck you in, with just just enough to keep you hanging after each chapter, yearning to find out what happens.

This book is the perfect ending to a wonderful series by a terrific author. Highly recommend!!

I must admit after reading the first two novels I wasn’t sure I would be into a story revolving around Ian. The first two books in the series I grew to root for James and Aimee, but for Ian I never developed quite the same feeling. Maybe cause deep down I still wanted to see Aimee and James together. The 2nd book kind of cured me of that...James belongs with Natalya and his boys on that beach in Hawaii.

So I was able to go into this with more of an open mind, and I quite enjoyed the look into Ian’s backstory, and to see Aimee fight for them and their love. They belong together too, so everyone gets the ending they deserve, even if it results from horrible and tragic decisions by so many. I also appreciated James gets a cameo here and gets his closure with Aimee that allows him to fully let her go...maybe they can one day even be friends.

I just wish this wasn’t the last in this series. Am I wrong to hold out hope for a Nadia/Thomas centered story? It appears at the end she is not with him, but they are the two characters left who I think deserve a story. Or maybe I just want to see all these characters one more time.

I enjoyed catching up with the characters, but would have liked a little more about James and his family as well. Reese was an unnecessary character. I felt like she was thrown in to balance Aimee's past with James. They weren't comparable. Ian's photography work with the horses gave his character more depth, and demonstrated life's balancing act. The three stars is due to the ending. The longing for Ian to reunite his mother is built up all through the book. The reader is left to write the reunion themselves.

A fitting end to the Everything series. Ian emerges as the main character in this book, The alternating chapters of Ian as a boy and as an adult shows how Ian's experiences as a boy shapes his behavior as an adult and effects his relationship with Aimee. Deals with mental health issues in a compassionate manner. Wish I saw more of James in this book.

Having read All the Breaking Waves before starting on the Everything trilogy, I was somewhat confused by the boy Ian's rescue in a ditch by a psychic who goes by different names. In All the Breaking Waves, the mother of the main character Molly finds a missing boy in a ditch using psychic abilities. I kept looking for a link between Ian and the unnamed boy in All the Breaking Waves, but none emerged. Apparently finding missing boys in a ditch is common for psychics.

This is the third and last installment of the trilogy. While I had not read the first two books in the series, I enjoyed "Everything We Give" and will go back and read the first two,

I don't want to spoil the ending for Lonsdale's fans but I will say that Aimee and her husband, Ian are working through some issues and heart ache. Ian has an incredible opportunity to shoot photos for National Geographic and it gives him an opportunity to try to find his mother.

This novel is about soul searching, moving on from past family hurts and hang ups and a reminder of what it means to truly love someone.'

I received an advance review copy of this book. All opinions are my own

The conclusion of the Everything series was something I’d been waiting on with excitement for what seemed like forever. I wanted to know Ian better, to learn the full scope of his story, and his history. Initially, when Amy stayed with Ian, I was just a little grumpy and probably a lot skeptical. I liked Ian, but the love story painted between Amy and James, how she searched for him, loved him, etc. how could the story with Ian even compare?

Color me surprised when the finale had me falling in love with Ian and Amy, and how real their relationship was. Kerry did an amazing job with painting a picture of both the mundane every day squabbles that couples have, and showing what genuinely made Amy and Ian’s love unique, delving into their insecurities and how they worked through them together.

One aspect I really enjoyed was finally finding out more information about Ian’s Mom and the full background of who she was, what really happened and why. You could almost feel the frustration and fear rolling off the pages when young Ian was confronted with his mom’s alter, and i couldn’t help but both feel sorry about how hard his childhood was, and want to scoop his young self up for a big hug. There was a split second at the end when I felt a sense of disappointment when it seemed as if they wouldn’t reunite... but I was pleasantly surprised when, given the choice, his mother chose to reunite.

I wish there were more books coming from this series, but the lines were tied up nicely, with the future looking brighter and more optimistic for the main characters. I can’t wait to see what Kerry comes out with next!

Everything We Give is everything you could ever want in a book series finale. I had the pleasure of reading the two previous books in the series and although you could easily read this book as a stand alone novel I would highly recommend reading them all to fully appreciate the journey that the main characters Aimee, James and Ian have taken us all along on. This book answered questions I had and gave me closure that I as a reader wanted regarding Aimee and James and their love story. I found myself tearing up reading their last meeting and knowing that they both would continue to love each other in a different way. Letting go and moving forward can be difficult and this book brought those emotions full circle. It was difficult for me to see Aimee move on from James but this final book brought Ian's character to life for me personally. The details of his difficult childhood with his mother with multiple personalities and breakup with his girlfriend Reese were heartbreaking. The sense of abandonment he had had throughout his life until he met Aimee was devastating and yet he persevered and moved forward to become a great man, husband and father. I am sad to say goodbye to these characters and all I can say is you will love this!

Never disappointed in a Lonsdale book. Another great story....Ian, a photographer, married to Aimee who owns her own shop. But what secrets lie beneath their love.

Is Ian's family worth losing when he decides to endeavor to connect with his family? The book takes you back and forth between a young Ian and a married, settled Ian. But there is too much in his past life to keep him on track.

And so the search is ahead of him - but what will the end result do to his family? Is their marriage strong enough to withstand the information found or will it break them? Looking forward to more books by this author.

The final book in the Everything We Keep trilogy, this was a satisfying ending. At times I wish I had the previous books handy to check some details that seemed off to me but I eventually let go and enjoyed it for what it was. Do not read this book if you haven't read the previous two or you'll be missing out on a great three part story. I received an advance copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

In this final novel of the Everything series, we find out the story behind Ian. Learning of his childhood with a mother with mental illness and a father who was absent most of the time due to work, the character of Ian the adult is easier to understand. However, for some reason, I didn't find myself as 'hooked' with Ian's story. Besides James' story (in the previous novel), Ian seemed a little one dimensional. But that may just be my personal preferences in the types of characters I find interesting. Otherwise, a satisfying wrap-up of the the story of Aimee, James and Ian.

Everything We Give is the third book in the Everything Series. I highly recommend you read the first two books to fully understand this final story. The third book is Ian's story. The book alternates between the present and Ian's childhood. This story is emotional and heartbreaking and you truly feel the love he has for Aimee. I laughed and cried reading Ian's story. Kerry did a fantastic job writing Everything we Give and it is a satisfying ending to the trilogy. If not, start at the beginning, a word of warning! I was unaware there was a series and started with book #2 first and although I was not lost completely, I was sorry I did not know there was a book #1 to start.
This story covers love, loss, family dysfunction, mental health issues, international travel, food and art - what more could one want? Fast read overall and good for the beach, Lonsdale clearly takes you through the story from one character chapter to the next, moving backward in time and to the present but in a very tidy manner, which to me was a big plus. I do not care for stories that move back and forth between characters that do not share the timeframe and I have to read half the chapter before I come to the realization where we are in time. The author does a superb job on this! Bring these to the beach, you won't be disappointed!

I honestly must confide that I found this book profoundly depressing on so many levels. I was glad when it was over. I wish as much writing went into some happier moments instead of weighing the reader down with so much excruciating drudgery of life. Somewhere, the writer forgot that this was a "boy" that was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders and should not have been held responsible for anything that was out of his control. I recognize that this is a talented writer but I really did not like this book at all. Too much crazy.

As usual for Kerry Lonsdale, Everything We Give is a masterpiece. Aimee and Ian return, along with their adorable daughter and several new characters. I really enjoyed getting to know more about Ian and his history.

While I am so sad that this is the final book in the Everything series, I look forward to reading Kerry’s future books.

This is the final installment of the Everything trilogy, and Kerry Lonsdale has given readers a satisfying and emotional finish for the characters. This time it’s Ian’s story that we hear, and the mysteries of his past are revealed, both to him and to the readers. It’s difficult to get into too much detail without throwing around spoilers about the first two books. Suffice to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this series, and loved the way things turned out for all involved. I also enjoyed the afterword, which included a link to some gorgeous photos of the Rapa Das Bestas, an event that played an important part in this book. I highly recommend the entire trilogy - which should be read in order!!

Thanks to Netgalley and Lake Union Publishing for providing a copy for an unbiased review.

Thank you to Kerry, Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
