I bought this book because one parent showed me their copy and I was hooked by what I saw. I had to have my own copy. This will help the students I tutor with their struggle with the subject of World History. SUPER informative and easy to understand.

These books are great for my middle school son to get a good overview. I would rather the answers not be right on the back of the page. Instead, it would be great if the publisher would either provide a small answer booklet with the book or just provide the answers online.

Bought this for my grandson that just entered 6th grade. TOTALLY AWESOME! Even the teachers think this series of books is a wonderful resource! It's a great refresher for me too when I'm helping with homework! Seems like kids aren't carrying books to and from school these days so it's really been a help.

I am a middle school Social Studies teacher and recently purchased this book for myself. This is a great resource for helping your child study Prehistory through the modern world. It is color coded and explains the content in terms a middle school student would easily be able to understand. I highly recommend this and would get a classroom set if I could!

The whole concept of One Big Fat Notebook is very interesting and might be useful for Middle School students. This is more a reference book than a one for reading.
That's why an absence of an Index or, at least, a more detailed Content is a disadvantage. A parent could guess that the coverage of Rise of Christianity (that, probably, deserved a separate chapter) is hidden under Ancient Rome, but can a student do this?

Very secular. Starts off with "we came from apes". I bought this thinking it would be a good review after wrapping up all 4 Story of the World books. If I had known just how secular it was, I wouldn't have purchased it. That said, because it's so watered-down public school history, it's not detailed enough to be offensive (or to misguide). If you are, for example, a Christian homeschooler, you'd be better served finding something else.

I just finished reading “Everything You Need to Ace World History in One Big Fat Book” and I really enjoyed it. The author starts the book in Unit 1, “The First Humans” and works his way up to Unit 9, “ Post World War II”. Unit 1 was very interesting, because it took place in 350 BCE. The author describes the first humans and the Neolithic Era. In Unit 2, he moves on to 3500 BCE-300 CE and talks about Mesopotamia, Ancient Africa, India, China, Greece, and Rome. In Unit 3, “The Middle Ages”, which took place in 400 CE-1500 CE, was mostly about the Golden Age of China. Some other things that the author talks about is Medieval Japan and India and the differences from back then to now. Unit 4 is very interesting because it talks about the Renaissance and Reformation: 1350-1650. The author discusses some great people from the arts like Shakespeare, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Michelangelo.

Moving on to Unit 5,”The Age of Exploration:1400-1800”, the author talks about the first American Colonies, European Explorations in Asia and shows some really nice maps of the different places famous explorers have gone. Unit 6: “ Revolution and Enlightenment: 1500-1865.” I think this chapter is good at explaining the French and American Revolution. This unit also discusses the Women's Movement, The American Civil War, Monarchies in Europe and many more interesting topics. I don't want to give the whole book away, so I will fast forward to my favorite Unit or Chapter: “Post World War II: The World from 1945 to Today.” I really enjoyed reading this chapter because it had a lot of American History and a lot of topics that I think are really interesting like nationalist and independence movements after World War II, the first man on the moon, and the Cold War. It also brings up a little bit about the Great Depression and how Americans survived it.

This book would really be useful for 9th grade students taking World History or World History Honors.

This book is a series. There is science, math, english and history. I bought all of them and they were amazing. This book is so organized and easy to understand! It is a lot thicker than I thought but I still love it! I definitely recommend this for every age above 12.

I saw this at our local membership warehouse club that starts with a C. They were cheaper there and I fell in love with the whole series! Science, English, World History and US History! I wish my kids were still in middle school so that I would have an excuse to buy them. Yet, I may just buy them for myself :-). They look like they would be a fun supplement for the kids' curriculum in middle school. Very colorful and full of information that is well presented with quizzes and answers at the end.
