First book was excellent!!! After that it got too boring!! Until the end of the last book. Basically it was a 2 book story or a very long one book novel!! These writers should really stop churning out repetitive 3 volumes!!

I understand that most romance novels have a certain level of fantasy but I found this series to be unrealistic and overly "wordy". Unfortunately, I bought the entire series at once. I have now given up after only getting through 30% of the first novel. I feel like I'm listening to an overly talkative family member who just goes on, and on, and on. You know....the one where you check out of the conversation from time to time and the person never misses a beat. I found myself skipping over several paragraphs just to get to the point!

This book was so disappointing. Both characters speak like second grading about adult topics. The verbiage of the characters is so elementary it is insulting. The plot was boring and predictable. The sex sciences were flat although descriptive. This was not a good read for a mature reader.

I hate not finishing a book and I've been fortunate to not have to deal with this option very often. I went into this with high expectations, but what a letdown! I found myself finally skimming over the sex scenes.....God, they were ubiquitous....actually, it seemed like they took up the majority of this book. Enough is enough...after awhile, it was just plain boring!!!!! I'm all for erotica, but this book went overboard. Additionally, Pearl was one of those characters that you just want to yell at...."Stop making such stupid decisions!" There is no way I could be made to believe that Alexandre would ever fall madly in love with someone like her. Actually, though, I'm not sure I can even say that since there was so little character development. Basically, the book was about two people who can only communicate with sex.....and more sex. Not my idea of a great book and certainly not in the same realm as FSOG and the Crossfire series. What a waste of time and money.

I tried to like this collection. I'm go glad I got it on sale. I couldn't get into this book. He is too mature for his age and for a 40 year old she acts like she's 12. I wouldn't recommend this book. I'm 28 and my friend who is 45 didn't like it either. So I'm not sure who would like this series?

This honestly was the first series since 50 Shades that kept me up at night and had me either totally frustrated or wanting to strangle someone to death. The emotional rollercoaster that I was on was unreal but once it started you had no choice but to ride it till to the end.

What I love most about these books is that Pearl is not a virginal 20 something but a woman who has lived a pretty typical life with a career and she finds herself older and wiser yet alone. This is not her fate though when she meets the very young but very successful and intelligent Frenchman Alexandre. He is up there in the sex appeal of Christian, Gideon and Gabriel for sure. Pearl is instantly intimidated by his youth and her insecurities make her doubt that his feelings for her are real but he breaks her down.... really well. And the Journey begins.

They go through a lot of up heavle due to misunderstandings, dibiliatating insecurities and family and ex drama, but as always love conquers all. This series really shows you that sometimes real love needs to be fought for and the journey is just your path to greatness. To tell you I highly recommend this read would be understatement. You MUST read this series! You will never forget these characters. You will never forget their Love!!

It's been a while since I read this thrilling story. What I noticed the first time I read was how incredibly talented this author was. Bringing to the light a love with an age gap. Sometimes it's not that easy to understand this kind of topics. But Ms. Richmonde, right here wasn't afraid to free her talent and give us a romance like no other.
The way she developed the characters was really pleasant. Trying to understand the circumstances that make Alexandre and Pearl be the way they were was something not that easy to accomplish in my opinion . Being two people with broken souls that found together in this complex love story, it's not easy to tell. But this amazing author did it and you as a reader feel so hooked from the start that it's impossible not to keep reading until you find the HEA you crave for this characters.

I can honest say, thia series will always have an special place in my heart ?
You won't regret putting your hands on this trilogy. In fact, I can assure you, you will be an addict of this author's writing.

I don't know about you but I am getting a bit tired of paying $9.99 for just one book in a series or $2.99 for a novella. The PEARL series, in my opinion, is the best erotic romance out there, the best written, the most interesting characters, and with a great plot. All three, full-length novels cost only $9.99 in total, instead of nearly $30 like so many other books. A real bargain.

I envy anyone who gets to read this trilogy in one go without the wait between books as there won't be cliffhanger anxiety...lucky you! And books 4 and 5, PEARL and BELLE PEARL are both released and AMAZING reads, wrapping up the series perfectly.

The first book, Shades of Pearl is a great introduction to the protagonists Pearl and Alexandre, an unlikely couple as she is 15 years older. But Pearl is not your typical 40-year-old...she is very youthful, stunning, although riddled with insecurities. I liked that, it made her more three dimensional than most romance heroines. Alexandre is French, and although a billionaire, there is a good reason for him being one...he's a social media sensation (like Mark Zukerberg but sexy and sophisticated).

Book 2, Shadows of Pearl is a roller coaster ride and book 3, Shadows of Pearl, continues that ride, keeping you on the edge of your seat. Pearl and Belle Pearl are MUST READS, as we are introduced to new characters not known about in the trilogy and the ending of Belle Pearl will knock your socks off. You will feel every emotion.

For anyone wondering if this a 50 Shades rip-off because of the Shades in the title, no it isn't. There are plenty out there with 23-year-old virgins/over-possessive jealous males and this isn't one of them. There is no BDSM them, either, and the writing style is light years away from 50. One thing they share in common is great sex and a fun sense of humor.

Really loved this series, you won't be disappointed if you are looking for something original and very well written with suspense.

Arianne Richmonde is my favorite author...she really delivers every time. I love her writing style which is more literary than other romance authors and in a league of its own.

I had read the books before they were put into one book... here they are all together...

1)This I had heard that this one was a good one and that there is a HUGE cliffhanger in book 2 so I am glad that I will be able to read right through from book 2 to 3.

I did enjoy this book I like that it is about an older lady not a young 20 something girl not sure of what she is going to do with her life, still trying to find herself.

Let me start off by saying that even though you immediately think of that one book that has become so popular, with the title being similar and all. But this book to me was a nice twist yes he is rich, yes he is dominant in the bedroom and in his life, BUT he is not into the tie her up and spank her kind of stuff. He is younger than her which is a nice twist as well. There is quite a bit that happens that will have you wanting to yell at her because she is just going about things all wrong. Then there are times you want to just slap him for being too proud at times.

I will have to admit the whole cougar thing I didn't quite understand at first I thought okay is this going to be weird, am I going to get grossed out, am I going to even like it? The answers are not weird at all I forgot that there was an age difference because he just seemed so mature for his age, I haven't once gotten grossed put during the hotter scenes, and yes I liked it a lot. I think that many compare it to fifty shades and that mainly being the play off the similar titles but if you go into this one thinking it is going to be just like fifty just by a different author you will not enjoy it. The similarities (which have been written for YEARS, long before fifty came around) is a rich guy looking getting with a woman he is all alpha and dominant in every aspect in his life (minus the whips and chains and all). There are things that happen that do throw in some angst and makes you want to yell out "I told you".

I completely enjoyed everything about this story from the start the only issue that I had were some of the word choices for her "cookie" if you will. The author didn't use the more as some would say "vulgar" terms but came up with something else all together. And that is the only thing that threw me off from time to time as I read I wanted to laugh every time I read it. I know that to each their own but for me that was something I had no issue looking past it because I liked the story. The names she used (Venus, pearlett, oyster) I don't remember if there are more but those were the ones that stuck with me it still makes me giggle. Like I said it was the one thing that did make me stop and say "umm okay I never heard of it called that before" or "okay I saw that one coming".

I heard that the second book has a big cliffhanger at the end so on to book 2 now! I usually like the second ones better in a trilogy since there seems to be so much that happens in them. *rubbing hands together* I can't wait to see what our little Pearl gets into next!

2)The first one was good and I did enjoy it so being able to jump right into the second one I was happy, I had heard that there is a huge cliffhanger and I am happy that I was able to read it so close to the release of the last book in the trilogy.

This one was full of so much stuff and I have to say that as far as I am concerned when reading trilogies I have always LOVED the second books the best! This is no exception to the rule ! I loved this one the funny names for her `girly' parts were not used as much so I didn't stop and giggle at the names she chose to use instead. Let me just say that HOLY HOTNESS! There were a few scenes okay more than a few that had me not able to put the book down . There is so much that goes on in this book that brings so many questions to rise there were a few things that I did see coming and left me wondering where some things were going.

I have come to love the obsession that he has for her. I mean in reality it would be a little creepy but in the fictional world it could only be flattering right? haha I mean to have a man so in love with you that he will do any and everything for you pretty much. Okay and I can honestly say that in this book I totally forgot that Pearl is 40 I thought that by the way she was acting she was in her 20′s I mean really where was all the wisdom she seemed to have in the first book. BUT let me just say that it did make for a FREAKING awesome story filled with so much drama, ohhh how I LOVED the drama. It was a big page turner for me and when things got real crazy oh how I got sucked in.

My heart broke at one point I wanted to yell at him NOOO you have to listen! You are just not getting it fool! I was so on Pearls side. Then I got to that ending and OMG all I could say was that did NOT just happen WTF... OH HELL NO!!! yeah they all came out.. I was at a loss. Ohhh and wanted to kill people!

3) This is the last in the trilogy and I was lucky enough to jump right into this one after finishing up the second book. I couldnt get started on it fast enough! I needed to know what the hell happens. I mean after that cliffhanger how could I wait to read!? lol

Okay so in this one we learn a lot of info. Things that make you go..."OHHHH okay now that makes sense!" for example, she explains the reason for the names of the "cookie" and why she used them. Then there are moments that I was so sure things were going to go a completely different direction because at this point I trusted NO ONE! haha I was even talking to my iPad as I read. Telling Pearl "Don't do it" or "Don't say it". You would think that I was insane walking around with my iPad talking to myself.

There are things that just make you want to hate Alexandre, but it is just so difficult to stay upset with him. You just want to take him out of the book and marry him yourself. (could you imagine, I would have a house full of men if that were possible).

I do absolutely LOVE the fact that we get a few parts in this one from his point of view. Because I was wondering what was going through his head a lot of the time. This one was a good ending although what ended up happening I felt like it was a little abrupt and I don't know...just kind of felt like it could have taken a different direction then the one that it took. BUT it got the job done I guess.

If I had to try and explain any negativity within the book the only thing I can think of is that in this one it would that it felt as if it were a bit rushed towards the ending. I did like it and there was hotness for sure. So over all...it was a good trilogy, with the second book being my absolute favorite! I usually never am in total love with the last book in a trilogy but maybe that is in part because that means that it is done.

The author gave me a copy of the trilogy for an honest review. I finished these books a couple of days ago, but needed to get my thoughts together first.

I was very excited to read a book with an older heroine. Pearl is a beautiful and sophisticated 40 year old woman with a great career. However, a violent incident of abuse when she was in college, abandonment by her father, and a divorce from a passionless marriage, combined with a very strained relationship with her brother, has made her a very fragile and vulnerable creature on the inside. And also very wary of men.

She meets gorgeous 25 year old French billionaire Alexandre, and they begin a very intense affair. Alexandre is very much a mystery, as are the women he surrounds himself with. Pearl is full of so much self doubt she goes being clingy and jealous to downright unstable at times. I felt like I was losing my mind with her at times in this book, not knowing who to believe, who is really after her, can Alexandre be trusted? She actually described my feelings perfectly when she referred to her life as a Hitchcock movie.

Pearl may have been older than Alexandre in years, but he was her senior in every other way, especially sexually. Because of her earlier abuse, Pearl was very detached from that part of herself and Alexandre was the first man she ever really wanted since that trauma.

Alexandre and Pearl are amazing together, but have a ton of issues on both sides. She drove me crazy every time she just ran without trying to figure out what's going on first. I'm very used to reading about young girls with self esteem issues that don't feel worthy of the amazing man who wants them, but adding in Pearl's age, her past, and her significant difference in age from Alexandre, you can understand why she had no idea how to rationally deal or feel confident about herself and her relationship.

The author takes you on a very wild ride. With all the plot twist and turns and the obsession Pearl and Alexandre have with each other, I can honestly say I was very surprised at the ending. From the glimpse of Alexandre's POV we got in book #3, I'm anxious to read Pearl, where we find out how he really reacted to Pearl in those intense and passionate moments. He's full of intrigue, hot as hell, and totally in love with Pearl. In the end, I couldn't blame Pearl for wanting to attach herself to him and yet at the same time run as far away as possible.

I am beginning to find that I love the older women, recently divorced, looking for romance genre. That is exactly how I can explain Pearl in this book. She works hard at what she does and when the time comes that she crosses paths with Alexandre, her whole world changes. There is always that struggle that an older woman, younger man have to overcome...how society/family perceives their relationship. Is she a Cougar? Is he looking for maturity? Are they crazy?

Definitely a steamy read here. Pearl is introduced to all sorts of sexual adventures when it comes to Alexandre. Maybe the French are more sexually inclined than we Americans, but DAMN...that man can make a Nun sweat in the nether regions! I love that Alexandre has worked his way to the top and defines his "love interest" as someone mature, life-experienced. There are many dark secrets that begin to unfold in this book that carry on into the other books and eventually become clear.

Pearl and Alexandre sure know how to take a reader on a whirlwind adventure! Pearl REALLY experiences knew avenues in this book, and not just with Alexandre. Although there is no disappointing there in their steamy scenes. Just when it seems that all is well on the homefront, a piece of Pearl or Alexandre's pasts come to cause havoc and strain on their relationship. Pearl really has not had to deal with this kind of strain and causes her to act out in ways that potentially could end her new found love.

I wish that Pearl was more independent and assertive with her needs/wants/desires. She tends to be more dramatic in this book and lets others control her feelings, which in the end makes you question if her and Alexandre are right for each other. All in all, still a great read and leaves you wanting to know more!

So much left hanging in limbo after book #2, now the reader has to wonder...can the relationship stand the ultimate test of love...trust??? And the unraveling begins... The darkness begins to see light and its learned why the characters have walls up and what about their pasts they must now overcome. Here in this book, Pearl learns confidence and independence like it's a second nature to her! She wants everything to be back to normal with her and Alexandre, she will stop at nothing to make sure she never loses what she loves most again. Alexandre seems to be the same. He finally overcomes his past barriers and learns that he must also fight for love.

Distance makes the heart grow fonder? Ummm, with these two...they never disappoint! Oh and a couple surprises at the end make the ending of this book complete! Great story of overcoming past demons, current barriers, and fighting for what/whom you love most!

I discovered the Pearl Trilogy by Arianne Richmonde during the height of my voracious billionaire romance reading binge. I read all the popular books-- Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James, the Up in the Air series by R.K. Lilley, the Crossfire series by Sylvia Day, the This Man series by Jodi Ellen Malpas, and the Blackstone Affair series by Raine Miller. All these books have the qualities I love in this genre--the wonderful sense that you're Cinderella being swept away by the man of your dreams. Of course, these books are peppered with the realities of today. But they still require a suspension of disbelief, the reason I love to read these book in the first place. They take me to places I can't possibly go in real life. The Pearl Trilogy did the same thing for me. I fell in love with her characters and count this series among my favorite billionaire romance series.

In the first book Forty Shades of Pearl, we meet Pearl Robinson. She's a forty year old documentary film-maker and divorcee. She a beautiful, smart, and independent woman. Did I mention she hasn't dated for two years. Yeah, she's going through a bit of a dry spell. After missing an interview with the hot new geeky social media billionaire, Pearl bumps into a beautiful young man at the coffee shop, Alexandre Chevalier. OMG, it's the billionaire! He is not the uber-geeky man she suspects him to be. He is tall, well muscled, tanned, and utterly gorgeous European hunk of man! Pearl and Alexandre connect over lattes and he asks her out on an unconventional date. From this day forward, Pearl is thrust into a relationship with a man 15 years young than she. Pearl experiences the highs and lows that come with a "Mrs. Robinson" type of relationship. Can Pearl and Alexandre withstand the obstacles thrown at them by family, friends, and misunderstandings?

I love this unconventional love story. The fact that Pearl is a mature, experience woman instead the typical naive girl that attracted me to the story. She's got life experience under her belt. A failed marriage complete with a sex life sorely lacking, Pearl doesn't expect this to change anytime soon. She immerses herself in work to distract her from her mundane, loveless personal life. When she meets Alexandre, she's unsure of herself. She's doesn't believe that she could possibly attract such a hot young guy. I like that Arianne works that angle--an older woman with a younger man. But she still keeps the sexual tension high as Pearl and Alexandre navigate through their new relationship. Forty Shades of Pearl includes all the delicious angst I've come to love in this genre--sibling drama, aloof parents, shady exes, and the constant fear that she isn't good enough for him. A few times I wanted to shake Pearl and tell her to snap out of it. But my heart broke for her at times because she was so insecure and naïve despite her age. It was those characteristics that made my root for her. Because don't we all have those qualities in some way or another, no matter our age?

I enjoyed the secondary characters in Forty Shades of Pearl. Pearl has a very good support system of friends, Natalie and Daisy. Pearl's family, on the other hand, is a bit screwy. Her brother is mean to her and her father is kind of flighty and aloof. Alex's sister Sophie is a straight up bitch! She made me mad quite a few times while I was reading.

The sex is deliciously hot between Alexandre and Pearl. Despite her lack of good sex in the past, Alex brings out the wanton lust out in Pearl. She's does things sexually that she never expects out of herself. Honestly, Pearl shocks me! It's like a switch is flipped and she getting everything (and sometimes things she didn't realize she wanted) from her newly found sex life. It's a refreshing sexual rebirth for her.

I found Arianne's writing style very smooth and descriptive without over doing it. There are many hilarious conversations, especially between Pearl and her friends. And some of the antics Alex comes up with to win over Pearl made me laugh and had my heart melting. I also enjoyed the little nicknames Arianne came up with to describe Pearl's "special places".

I really enjoyed Forty Shades of Pearl. The book doesn't end in a cliffhanger. The next book is just a continuation of the story. Even then, I'm very happy I started this series with all of the books available to buy.

The story picks up with Alexandre and Pearl blissfully happy together. Pearl has accepted Alex's proposal and are planning to get married in Lapland. (I didn't realize Lapland existed, much less that you could get married there.) Unfortunately, an undercurrent of doubt and suspicion has Pearl thinking Alex's sister, Sophie, is out to destroy her. Bolstered by a call from a person in Alex's past and memories of her turbulent younger days, can Pearl overcome these obstacles to find happiness?

Shadows of Pearl is the most angst filled book of the series. Pearl is filled with so much doubt and insecurity, it's frustrating. For a woman who has "been around the block" so to speak, she doesn't handle her new found love life very well. But I have to give her a break considering this type of connection to another person is all very new to her. It doesn't help that as Pearl communicates her suspicions to Alex, he seems to dismiss her. Arianne perfectly communicates Pearl's feelings as if she's experienced them herself. You feel the betrayal and the growing doubt in Pearl. It doesn't help that Alexandre isn't exactly forthcoming with his past, especially about his ex-girlfriend and his father.

Pearl does a good amount of running in this book. Oh Pearl, don't you know running doesn't solve anything? I can only imagine the amount of airline miles she racked up running from Alex. Some of the ways she escapes Alex is hilarious, but most of the time it's maddening. You want to stop her and ask her why she's doing this?

We get to meet many of the shady and aloof characters complicating Pearl and Alex's life. We met Laura, the ex-girlfriend of Alex. Laura is a calculating bitch! You know immediately something is not right with this woman. She's got all those qualities you hate in an ex-girlfriend of your man. She's beautiful, rich, and haughty. We meet Pearl's dad and get a glimpse of his life and why he wasn't in her life early on. All this to say the secondary characters and the accompanying story lines keep you interested as well. You invest in these characters because their stories are well written.

The sex scenes in Shadows of Pearl are smoking! The one particular scene that stands out in my mind involves secondary character, Alessandra Demarr. This minx is the female version of Alexandre and she works all her charms on Pearl. It had me writhing a bit...okay maybe a lot more than that. She had a filthy mouth and a seductive, bossy charm about her. Her character mixed up the sex factor in a way I liked.

Shadows of Pearl ends in a major cliffhanger. I was seriously pissed off at a few characters and thought I might not read on. Of course that thought lasted about five seconds and I immediately started the next book.

Shimmers of Pearl picks up where Shades of Pearl left off. Pearl is devastated by the realization that Alex is "with" his ex-girlfriend, Laura. However, she is only going on she and Laura's conversation. Defeated, Pearl hightails it back to NYC. Is all this drama worth it? Will Pearl and Alexandre's relationship withstand the secrets and lies they're holding back to protect each other? Miscommunication is a part of the angst in this series, but Pearl and Alex communicate a lot of their feelings in this book. Pearl refuses to see Alexandre until he opens up and tells her the truth about everything. Unfortunately, Alex is still holding out on her. He refuses to discuss this current relationship with Laura and will not budge on the subject of his father and his disappearance.

I like that Arianne keeps the drama high without putting you through as much angst in the second book. At this point you want to know Alex and Pearl are working through their issues and are committed to each other. I love the way they fight with each other. Pearl passion is fiery with the accusations she flings at Alex. I think this makes him love her even more.

The secondary character's story lines really ramp up in this book. Daisy, Pearl's best friend, is facing a troubled marriage and I found myself looking forward to her parts in the book. I also really invested in Natalie, Daisy's friend and former boss. She's a spitfire like Pearl and I enjoyed reading about her and her love life. I would like to have seen a bit more story line with Sophie (Alex's sister) and her love life. I would read a novella about her story in a heartbeat.

The sex gets a little more inventive in Shimmers of Pearl. Alex's filthy mouth get even more filthy and Pearl becomes insatiable. These scenes had me squirming quite a bit. Arianne is gifted with her dirty talk!

I was surprised at how the story wraps up. I was expecting a little more action--possibly a kidnapping or shootout. But I'm glad it ended they way it did. Karma comes back to this character in a way that is clever. The last chapter and the epilogue in Shimmers of Pearl satisfied all my HEA needs.

In my opinion, The Pearl Trilogy stands on it own as a billionaire romance novel. I've seen many people say it's a blatant rip off of Fifty Shades of Grey. I don't agree with that opinion. The only thing these two books share is that the male protagonist is rich. Everything else in The Pearl Trilogy is completely original. If I felt this book was a clone of any of the other series I read, I wouldn't bother reading it. Pearl and Alex's story will grab you because it's a great love story between two unlikely people who come together by chance. I give The Pearl Trilogy 5 out of 5 stars. If you love this genre of romance, go pick it up right now!

Where do I start??? I really loved this story! Reading about a woman in her 40s who grabs the attention of a much younger stud was all it took to reel me in. I haven't come across too many stories like this so when I do, I really enjoy them. To be able to read all three books at one time was such a treat because I didn't have to wait for the next one to come out :)

Pearl is a woman who is 4o years old and recently divorced. She is successful, beautiful and in need of a man that knows how to treat her right. Her previous husband wasn't the best in the bedroom and believe me when I say....Pearl missed out on a LOT! She realizes just how much after she meets and falls in love with the gorgeous Alexandre. He helps her experience all kinds of naughty and delicious things along with showing her the meaning of true love.

Alexandre is wealthy and sexy and happens to own a multi-million dollar company. When you first meet him, you know immediately that he is a man who clearly knows what he wants and doesn't hesitate to go after it. What I love most about Alexandre is how he never once asks Pearl how old she is. To him, it doesn't matter. All he knows is that he wants to spend more time with her and get to know her even better.

From their first meeting, the drama and turmoil never seems to stop! Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of wonderful encounters between the two of them but you can't have a good story without a little drama, right? Pearl deals with Alexandre's sister, his ex-girlfriend and her own brother who, at times, doesn't treat her very well. Alexandre, on the other hand, is constantly trying to squash all of Pearl's insecurities and doubts. I don't want to give too much away, so you will need to read the story to get all the up close and personal details.

All in all, this love story caught me from the beginning and didn't let me go. The way Pearl and Alexandre connected (both intellectually and sexually) was truly intense. The sex scenes were...were...FREAKING HOT! Kudos to Ms. Richmonde for making me sweat a little ;)

This is a book that everyone should read. I am so excited to be reading the next installment entitled Pearl. It is the story told from Alexandre's POV and I have no doubt it will be nothing short of fantastic!

Wow, just finished the series and my head is still spinning along with my heart! I fell in love with each character, then immediately hated them and then couldn't love them more. With each chapter I would just pick my jaw off the floor and found myself talking outloud to the freaking book itself! This book goes through every avenue, explores all aspects of love and trials. Could not stop reading until the last page of book 5! Amazing, gut wrenching good!

Don't let the title fool you...this is NOT a Fifty Shades knock off in the least! It is a beautiful story of Pearl, a beautiful a 40-year old divorcee and is a successful independent women who is missing something...a man in her life after two years of not dating. She is on a business assignment to meet the very private Alexandre who is a successful (and very French) Internet mogul! When her plans don't turn out like she wanted she heads over to a coffee shop to get her wits about her and runs into Alexandre and his sister....and the sparks begging to fly and they are damn good sparks!!!

I loved that Pearl is older and Alexandre is determined to not let their age be an issue. I found him endearing and honest, which is hard to find in some books. While Pearl questioned a lot of things, she wasn't super annoying like other female characters. I contribute that to her being more experienced in life. While there was angst and major heart palpitations I trusted the storyline and stuck it out and I was extremely pleased! It was HOT, funny, adventurous and real. You could feel the characters emotions and struggles and you were entwined in every aspect of their lives.

Thankfully it was released in a trilogy, so when you get to that cliffhanger you are only left hanging for 30-seconds until you can click the next book open. Thank you Arianne for not making us suffer!!! I gave this series 5-stars because it was creative, raw, real and it captured my undivided attention. It held my interest the entire time and did not lack in storyline. I loved Pearl and Alexandre...well who wouldn't love a 20-ish French Internet mogul who is athletic, witty, respectful and sexy?!?! He is alpha all the way...but he does not condone pain or disrespect Pearl in the bedroom! A true gentleman...a super sexy one to boot!

If you want a happy ending...this is your book. It is so sweet and my heart melted completely!! Totally left me feeling satisfied and happy!!! Sigh...I need more Alexandre...

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
What an awesome, sexy, funny, heartbreaking, gripping story! Do you want to know what I loved about it? Well for one, the heroine is older than me!! I love all kinds of stories but the fact that Pearl is 40 years old, well; it made me love her all the more. Second, Alexandre is one sexy Frenchman! His character was strong and once he figured out what he wanted, he would stop at nothing to have it. There is so much that I loved about this story but I'm ready to talk about the book!

Pearl's company, Haslit Films, makes documentaries and she wants to interview a brother and sister, Alexandre Chevalier and Sophie Dumas. Problem is, they are very private and never grant interviews. Hoping she will get her chance at a conference she is attending. Bad luck is on her side at the moment, because she missed their seminar and they have already left. Missing that chance, her boss decides to forget the whole thing and they will come up with a new idea. Problem solved, Pearl heads across the street for a coffee before she heads back to the office.
Pearl and Alexandre see each other for the first time at the coffee shop and while getting to know each other a bit, she keeps her secret of the requests for an interview. It's not happening now anyway, why ruin the moment.
They have their first date and days go by and she hears nothing from Alexandre. But soon, everything is going to change. They begin an incredible affair but she has so many doubts about herself, it leaves her wondering if she can be enough for this man. He decides he needs to help her get past those doubts. And he does an incredible job of it too!

Every moment the two of them are together, to put it simply, is HOT! Neither of them can get enough and now that Pearl is coming out her shell, haha, she has become obsessed with Alexandre. And what happens when Sophie and Alexandre find out that Pearl had been trying to get an interview with them. Well, it's not pretty and I was a nervous wreck! I could feel the anger and disappointment rolling off Alexandre. As well as the heartache from Pearl. He doesn't let her try to explain, feeling used and too angry to listen; he leaves her where she is sitting.

Luckily there is so much more to happen in the story and Arianne does a beautiful job of pulling you deeper into their lives. I am so relieved this was released as a trilogy. Even though there will be a cliffhanger somewhere within the book, luckily, you don't have to wait on another part to be released. We are whisked away to France, England and places in between. The twists and turns we are given left me in pieces or angry enough to want to throw my kindle. Other times, it was so sweet or incredibly sexy that I didn't think I'd be able to get enough. I found it very hard to put it down. The Pearl Trilogy is a definite page turner and absolutely loved the way it ended. I gave this beautiful erotic romance 4.75 stars and I am very much looking forward what Arianne Richmonde releases in the future!!

The Pearl Trilogy starts off with book one Shades of Pearl, where we met the heroine Pearl, and the very sexy and much younger hero, Alexander. I loved reading how these two met and started their relationship. The story line was excellent and a real page turner. The love scenes were scorching hot and very sensual. At the end of this book, I was very eager to read Book 2, Shadows of Pearl where the story continues. I must say that I really enjoyed Shades of Pearl but Shadows of Pearl... BLEW ME AWAY! This part of the series had my emotions all over the place. There were so many twists and turns between these two lovers and I was completely immersed in the book. The ending was a jaw dropping cliffhanger and UNFORGETTABLE!! I had tears running down my face and thinking NO...that did not just happen?!

There was a short wait for book 3, Shimmers of Pearl, and I wasn't very patient anticipating the book's release. The minute I knew Shimmers of Pearl was available I snagged it and loaded on my Kindle. All the other books I had planned to read were tossed to the side, and I dove right into Shimmers of Pearl. I just had to know what was going to happen next. In book 3, I got all the answers to the questions I was left wondering about at the end of Shadows of Pearl. Of course, Pearl and Alexander experienced major drama again, which I loved, and I was hooked and had a hard time putting the book down. The ending was FANTASTIC and a wonderful conclusion to The Pearl Trilogy!! It left me with a great big smile on my face, very satisfied and a HUGE fan of Arianne Richmonde!

What I loved about the Pearl Trilogy:

1.) I LOVED the fact that I was drawn to into this story by the wonderful characters of Pearl and Alexander. She was an older woman and that did not deter Alexander from wanting all of her, heart, body and soul...PRICELESS!

2.) The story grabbed me in a big way, with many twist and turns, a real page turner, and I needed to know what was going to happen next.

3.) My emotions all over the place; one minute I was happy, the next sad and even mad at times. So much so, that I wanted to hit some of these characters on the head. I really felt what was going on...JUST AMAZING!!

4.) It was SCORCHING HOT!! The love scenes were fantastic. This is where I felt that Arianne Richmonde's writing shined. I could REALLY FEEL the attraction, and desire that Pearl and Alexander had for each other. These scenes were so sensual and passionate, and the love just leapt off the pages.

5.) Most of all, I loved how the story concluded, with an EXCELLENT epilogue that takes Pearl and Alexander to their Happily Ever After ending! It was so sigh-worthy! Ahhhhhh!

This series was AWESOME! I'm happy to see that it is being released in a box set with all 3 books; you can read them one right after the other, no waiting! If you have not read this series, I urge you to give it a try.

What an amazing series this was. I got to read all three at once. No anxious waiting for the next to be released. I loved every minute of this book. Plus there aren't enough stories about older women being with younger men. Almost like it is a taboo subject. I say bring it on, I want more stories centered around this kind of love.

Pearl is a forty year old divorcee. She feels that her dreams of getting married and having children is a flash in the pan. She then meets Alexandre he is twenty five year old business savy man. She immediately is attracted to him, but she doesn't think that he would want to be with her. Boy is she mistaken. Alexandre is just as attracted to Pearl as she is to him. He wants a mature woman like Pearl. They start a hot and steamy love affair. Which will blow you away. These two were made for each other. Nothing is easy in their relationship. They work very hard to make things work. They run into some problems along the way. Problems that will test their love for each other. The question is can their relationship survive her insecurities and his secrets?

My take on Pearl and Alexandre as a couple. They have a lot in common both fearless and very passionate people. He awakens her when they are together. They change one another. They are meant for each other. Alexandre is such a poet. The words that come out of his mouth are beautiful. He cherishes her and makes her feel loved. Pearl will do anything for him she has fallen in love with his soul. They truly have found their soul mates. Which makes you think that love is so unexpected. Once you have it fight for it, don't let it slip through your fingers. These two gave it their all very inspiring if I don't say so myself.

I recommend you give this one nice long read. Three books that will knock your socks off. Getting to know Pearl and Alexandre is definitely a must. I am so glad I did. I look forward to more books from Arianne, she is a very talented story teller

I was hooked on this book from the first page. Hot, steamy, shocking, many WTF moments and oh have I mentioned the hot and sexy Alexandre! Holy smokes he is off the charts in soooo many ways!

Pearl is 40 and kind of lost and feeling alone. She works in a producer of documentaries and is given an assignment that brings face to face with Alexandre. The sparks between them were flying immediately. I found myself reading with a big smile on my face because their flirting and Pearl's inner thoughts were so funny. Pearl is just too much throughout the book. Between her nicknames, her antics and her intense emotions for Alexandre it was difficult to put this book down. I lost many hours of sleep because I would say "just one more chapter" and that chapter led to one more and another (you see how this goes) and before I knew it, it was 3am.

Now I have read A LOT of books and it is pretty hard to shock me and trick me but Arianne Richmonde you did this with The Pearl Trilogy. I had many *mouth hanging on the floor* moments and yelling WTF to no one in particular because I was just so surprised as to what I was reading. I swear you won't see it coming.

This book is filled with hot and steamy scenes but it is also filled with a great story that will have you rooting for Pearl and Alexandre as a couple. You learn some really important things about their pasts which shed some light on why they are the way they are.

This Trilogy was originally release as three separate books (40 Shades of Pearl; Shadows of Pearl; and Shimmers of Pearl). The release date on
the store for both paperback and ebook is on the 23rd. Towards the end there was a bit of a lull but nothing that prevented me from not continuing on. I loved this book/series and recommend that you read it.

Omigah! I can't believe I forgot to include this wonderful trilogy into my book reviews!!

"The Pearl Trilogy" gives women in their forties (as well as any group age) who've lost all hope in finding love some light. It doesn't matter what age you are, you can still attain a great catch like sexy French business mogul, Alexandre Chevalier.

I loved the dynamics between Pearl and Alexandre since they are so different as night and day. Pearl is so posh and reserved whereas Alexandre is mature for his age but is also very dominant and alpha male when it comes to Pearl.

Reading this, I thought the big nemesis was this one person but in the end it was another. I figured with Pearl's presence in Alexandre's life that there would cause tensions and jealousies but by book three I never figured that Alexandre's past love could be so complicated. I literally wanted to slap Laura (who is she? well, you have to read to find out!).

As for the plot and it's pacing: everything well flowed and was great.

My main complaint was how the situation with the antagonist was solved. I mean, be reasonable. I can't see that happening so that our heroine's can have their happily ever after. To me, that was a bit unethical and sloppy.

BUT, other than that no further complaints!!

Gah, I want to read "Pearl, Alexandre's Story" so bad now!! I love him!! He's one of my book boyfriends. Hehe. <3

We loved The Pearl Trilogy! The author has given us a twist on the usual story: Yes, we have an alpha male, Alexandre, who is a gorgeous, wealthy, brilliant businessman, but he is also much, much younger than the heroine, Pearl! And, at 40, she is still insecure and trying to find herself.

After a chance meeting, Pearl and Alexandre embark on a very, very hot relationship. At times, we were yelling at Pearl to stop over-analyzing the relationship, but the storyline is great and the sex scenes do NOT disappoint. Mrs. Richmonde also gives us lush scenery and exotic locales, and there are a LOT of plot twists. Trust us, you will NOT anticipate the twists and turns of this story.

We do not want to go into too much detail about the story because it is best if you read the Pearl Trilogy with no hint of the developments.

Both Pearl and Alexandre let their pasts get in the way of their current relationship, but we loved the plot and also the secondary characters in the Pearl Trilogy. The author does a wonderful job of developing their stories, too, and we LOVED the journey these books took us on.

I bought these books individually and had to wait for each one. You are lucky to get the whole story all at once. It won't disappoint This is an amazing story of love. Pearl is such a fabulous older woman and Alexandre is a totally hot frenchman. Add to that an overprotective older sister and a jealous ex girlfriend and you have a reciept for a hot novel. There story takes all kind of twists and turns. I don't like giving a synopsis of the story when I write a review. This book is a journey you won't want to miss. The love scenes are so hot and frequent. The story has mystery and suspense many twists and turns There are so many surprises It was one of the best trilogys I have ever read Once you start you won't be able to stop

While Book One might have a similar title (Forty Shades of Pearl)to Fifty Shades of Grey, THAT is where the comparison ends. This series of books were written so much better. The overall storyline was much more realistic and love scenes much more pleasurable.
The main female character is forty years old and not some college nit wit. She's a professional woman with secrets, a dark past and sets off on a journey to become more in touch with herself.
This compilation of books are the debut novels for Arianne Richmonde. She triumphed at the challenge. Her ability to describe the characters, surroundings and scenes are so well written, the reader is able to visualize every moment as if they were sitting on a ledge watching everything take place in real-time.
Arianne did a wonderful job at giving us the steamy love scenes we love. She made us hate some characters and love others. She created tragedy that made us want to cry and personally get into the books so we could defend those being tormented.
Please keep in mind that Arianne does live in Europe; some of her descriptions might throw a couple of American readers off. Example: The glass on the front of a car-Europe=windscreen/America=windshield. I promise there isn't enough that makes it difficult to read or understand. I just wanted to point it out because some readers tend to be judgmental and criticize.
All three of these books were absolutely enjoyable to read. I'm so excited for what Arianne writes for us next. She's well on her way to a long and successful writing career.

WOW!!!! Watch out CG and GC the French man Alexandre Chevalier is one down right sexy beast...
Pearl is a 40 year old documentary film maker who is trying to do the un-do-able...
Alexandre Chevalier is a 25 year old billionaire that women throw themselves at with a sister that will do anything to protect their company.
Alexandre and Pearl meet by accident standing in line to get coffee, Alexandre immediately finds Pearl attractive, an Pearl knows who he is because he is the un-do-able..
What Pearl wasn't expecting was to fall in love with a man younger than her who awakens things in her she never knew before. Alexandre tells her he's going to punish her for hiding from him, so he ties her up and uses a feather as her punishment ***sigh*** ( he can punish me )
As their relationship grows secrets get reviled that causes them to run from one another. One being that Pearl lied to him about what she does and Alexandre leaves her crying only to come back because he can't stand being away from her... as they learn to trust in their love for one another people and outside forces are there is intervene..can Pearl trust her heart and the people around her or will she push Alexandre away for good?
This is such a heartfelt emotional rollercoaster love story.. Alexandre is so freaking hot and sexy that you feel a pull to him and wish you were Pearl... There are some WTF moments, some moments where you just want to scream at Pearl for acting like a baby, twists, oh and a steamy BDSM scene that you would not believe (Alexandre was not part of it) ...
This trilogy was great.. and now we are getting Alexandre's POV

An erotic romance series for the intelligent.

This series promises:

No cliches.

No bad grammar.

No repetition of the same vocabulary.

A storyline with lots of unexpected twists and turns.

Dialogue which is interesting and intelligent (okay Alexandre does engage in lots of dirty pillow talk too!).

A hero who is COMPLETELY original and is very respectful of women.

A protagonist who is not in her twenties and who is also unique.

Very steamy sex scenes without BDSM.

I have now read the whole 5-part-Pearl series and what I love so much is the way each book is different, each with its own journey and character development. You get to understand why the protagonists behave and think the way they do.

But Arianne Richmonde, being the skilled novelist that she is, doesn't lay it all out on the table as with, for instance, Bared To You. e.g...letting readers know from the outset that they will be reading about two messed-up characters. Her writing is more subtle, more layered. You discover little by little that both Pearl and Alexandre are unusual and yes...pretty screwed up. There is humor, too. Neither takes themselves too seriously, which I love.

Anyone who says that Pearl is an 'immature forty year-old' has obviously not turned forty yet or is totally devoid of a sense of humor.

Do we really want to be reading about some 'sassy' kick-ass' bitch that the hero falls for for the only reason that she's playing hard to get?

Why do people think it's understandable for a 20-year-old to feel insecure, but not an older woman? Forty year-olds feel just as vulnerable as twenty year-olds when it comes to love, maybe even more so, even if they are just as sexy, just as beautiful. Forty year olds carry baggage, have wrinkles, have a past. Where are people getting this nonsensical idea that by the age of forty you should have your head completely sorted out?

This is what makes Pearl so lovable. She is vulnerable, real and flawed. She's confused. And she makes mistakes. Yet we are rooting for her all the way. I LOVE Pearl and her mad antics. She is one of the most believable, quirky heroines in a long time. A very sexy Bridget Jones.

In Shadows we see Pearl in a different light. As the title warns us the 'shadows' of her past' come back to haunt her and jeopardize her relationship with Alexandre. But the truth is, the way the novel is so cleverly structured and paced, we DON"T KNOW WHOSE SIDE WE"RE ON! There are so many twists and turns in this book that it elevates it to way more than just an erotic novel. At one point I didn't know WHO to believe. GREAT JOB Arianne Richmonde!

Then comes Shimmers of Pearl, followed by Pearl and Belle Pearl..MUST reads as you find out so much more about Alexandre and what makes his mind tick. Also, when you see Pearl from Alexandre's POV, he sees her as more sophisticated than how she sees herself. It is intriguing.

I really think this series should be on the New York Times Bestseller list. It is different, really well written. Anyone who skips reading this heartfelt love story with twists and turns that you don't see coming, is really missing out.

Highly recommended.

I absolutely loved The Pearl Trilogy! The love story was so exciting, from the way they met to their first date and then on to their romance. The scenes were so well written and really thought out! After reading book one, I needed to read 2 immediately and then when I had to wait for book 3, I thought I would die!! The ending of book 2 had me dying to know what was going to happen! The love/sex scenes in each book were so well described and really showed a lot of the thought in the way they were played out! They were erotic but tastefully done as well!! I would recommend this to anyone who needed another great erotic romance to read! I am only hoping that this won't be the end of the characters in this book, I would love to read more about all of their lives!!!

I read all these books in this trilogy separately and loved each one of them. They are different from EVERYTHING out there, trust me, and better written, too. The style is more lyrical and descriptive; this is more literary than all the provocative romances I've read so far (including Gabriel's Inferno). I laughed, I cried...I fell in love with both Alexandre and Pearl. And it was so refreshing to read about a woman not in her twenties.

The sort of reader who will enjoy the Pearl Trilogy is someone who liked 50 and the Crossfire series but who is looking for something better written. There is no repetition, no use of the same verbs over and over and a plot that keeps you turning pages but doesn't compromise on good, descriptive writing.

These books are for a more sophisticated reader; someone more discerning than the type of romance reader who gobbles books so fast they don't even have time to savor the words. No, The Pearl books are written to be read and re-read, to be feasted on. To definitely be savored.

Here you have three, full-length novels, Shades of Pearl, Shadows of Pearl and Shimmers of Pearl which follow the journey of French billionaire, Alexandre Chevalier and forty year old documentary producer Pearl Robinson, fifteen years his senior.

This is not a 'cougar' romance because this is a LOVE story. A love story between two dysfunctional, lovable people and all the obstacles thrown in their way, both real and imaginary. This is a character-driven trilogy. A hot one, too. So anyone who likes shy descriptions of sex scenes, this book isn't for you. This is HOT. Take a cold-shower-to-cool-down hot.

This trilogy is all-consuming; a roller coaster ride but it isn't just a page turner - the descriptive passages and the sense of place is beautifully done. You feel the emotions, you sense the smells and colors. You live the moments.

For anyone out there who wants a well written steamy read, you can't go wrong with these three books. I LOVED them and so did all my girlfriends.

And if you want to really melt your kindle, read PEARL, the next book in the series. This time from Alexandre's POV. I swear you will fall head over heels in love with this enigmatic, and unusual character. He is a sex god to boot.

Christian who? Gideon who? Alexandre Chevalier - you have stolen my heart.

Little does she know the fates have other things in mind for her when she happens across sexy, romantic, dirty-talking, multi-millionaire Frenchman, Alexandre. They embark on an adventurous love affair that is full of ups & downs, highs & lows. Author Arianne Richmond has a gift for storytelling, especially if you like it hot, steamy, romantic & dreamy. Honestly ladies if you have not read this series get started now. I've read a ton of different authors and Adrianne is at the top of my list. That cruel streak in her really does it for me. After reading the first one in WTRAFSOG I couldn't quit until I had read all 5 so now I've moved on to other series from her. She is so awesome. I do love that I came to one section of the book and had to stop because I couldn't read through the tears then on the next page I was laughing like crazy. I love Arianne's style. I moved right on to the Star series another great 3 book series and I loved it as well. She really knows how to get your heart going and then just stomp on it. A thrilling ride every time.

WOW! I just received the Pearl Trilogy yesterday afternoon. I started reading around 1:30 p.m. and finished all 3 at 4:45 a.m. I could not put them down!!!!!!!! The Romance and story line is just remarkable. The romance and love are in a none stop flow, no telling what will happen next. I laughed and cried thru out all of the books. I true dream come true.

I am thrilled to see that a set is started from Alexandre's side. I just ordered the 1st in that series. I can't wait to get it!

I read all five of these books and found them to be very entertaining. Pearl was a bit insecure about her sexuality but I did not find her "boring" as I have seen on other reviews. Alexandre was exactly as I would have pictured a very sexy, handsome 25 year old male. I have recommended these books to several and they enjoyed them as well.

The Pearl Trilogy is a brilliant erotic romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time. It's about a 40 year old woman named Pearl who from the outside looking in has life really going on. She is beautiful, smart, has a great career and the body of a 25 year old. The only thing is Pearl has 40 shades of insecurities and past dramatic events that she blames herself for and can't see what everyone else does. Since her last failed marriage and 2 miscarriages she has been married to her career and her social and sex life in the desert. Pearls latest project is doing a documentary on the French brother sister duo who owns and started "Hooked Up" a social network worth billions. The duo has of yet to talk to anyone and has not responded to any of Pearls attempts to meet with them. Nobody really knows anything about them and Sophie is the only one that has photos out. Pearl lucks up and finds out that the duo is in New York for a convention/seminar and she plans on being there. Unfortunately, when Pearl gets there she finds out the convention started an hour early and the infamous duo has already left. Pearl calls her boss and they decide to move on and give up on this documentary and do something else. Pearl decides to stop and get her a coffee and while standing in line with her name tag on from the convention, a man ask how did she like the convention and she looked at him and OMG it was him. Alexandre is the most beautiful man she has ever seen and with his charm and beautiful french accent Pearl is at a loss of words. He is also 25 yrs old and so nice and polite, unlike his sister Sophie who is a total witch and hates Pearl from that very minute. Thankfully , Sophie leaves and Alexandre ask Pearl to sit and chat with him. This is the start of a beautiful romance that will take you on a journey any woman could ever dream of. Alexandre will do anything and everything to prove his love to Pearl and Pearl just cant get past her insecurities to let him love her but nothing will stop Alexandre from making Pearl his. The story is HOTT!!!! They cant get enough of each other. They travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world. Their Love is tested so many times with Pearl's insecurities and they both eventually have haunting past that try to break them. There is so many wth moments you really will never see them coming. You will find yourself smiling, panting (lol) crying, and so angry your are yelling at the book. I read a lot and I have to say that this is my favorite book/series. Arianne gives every character such personality that you want more. The story is so great and she gives enough about the other characters you just have to know what happens to them. You have to read this book and just be thankful its all in one now and didn't have to wait until the next book came out it was pure torture. Thank you so much Arianne Richmonde for sharing your brilliant talent. I myself and I'm sure there are plenty of other readers that are looking forward to the next journey with you. P.S. and thank you so much for Alexandre. <3

Take two characters will dark pasts, steaming hot chemistry, a plot that races along, and beautifully descriptive writing and you have a recipe for excellence.

This series has been my favourite of ALL the erotic romances. Why? Because the characters are so refreshingly different. Alexandre Chevalier is hotter than Gideon or Christian or Jesse and all the book boyfriends out there. His passion and love for Pearl is palpable. He is a rogue and a gentleman all in one and will have your heart racing.

I fell so in love with him when I read Pearl and Belle Pearl. Do not miss this series. Arianne Richmonde is an excellent storyteller and knows how to keep her readers turning pages.

f you are an intelligent reader and fed up with all the same old same old, you'll love this series. Plus finally a hot love story where the woman isn't in her twenties.

I loved the older woman/younger man dynamic of this book! It's about time this kind of story was written. A strong older woman and an equally strong young man fall in love and overcome insurmountable odds to be together. The Pearl Trilogy has that and more. The twists and turns in the story only add to the intensity. The attraction between Pearl and Alexandre is palpable and the love scenes are passionate and raw. The Pearl Trilogy is the complete story from fiery beginning to sweet end and I loved every word...

This is a great read if you're looking for something different. I loved the dynamic between Pearl and Alexandre. She is a real character; realistic, and I could so identify with her, being an older woman myself. She has her insecurities but she has a great sense of humor about it. Alexandre is simply gorgeous, both inside and out.

I appreciated Arianne Richmonde's writing style, too. Well edited, with a great sense of suspense throughout all the books. You won't be able to guess what happens.

If you are looking for a fun, intense read that is a real love story, then you'll love these books. Pearl and Belle Pearl are also must reads as the story is different and you learn how damaged Alwexandre is...your heart will go out to him. He ius one of the most complex characters but REAL..you believe this story.

This is a fabulous series and I loved every minute of it.

I would like to challenge all women who view themselves as intelligent, insightful and can wear bright red lipstick with confidence to read this story.
Of course anyone could read this and enjoy it but, I believe that the fore mentioned woman would most appreciate the sentiments that flow off these pages........the sentiment of discovering yourself as a sexual and sensual woman, the sentiment of discovering that you have a strong and formidable spirit and the sentiment of discovering love when you least expect it with the most unlikely of men when you had all but given up that dream.
I won't give a synopsis of the story (others have done this well already) but I will share with you why the story of Pearl captivated and drew me in.
Pearl is not a young nor naive thing.  She has lived and loved, lost and grieved.  Pearl could have been one of my girlfriends.  In short the character of Pearl was believable and in that fact lies (for me) the success of this story.  I could identify with her insecurities in loving a younger man, in loving a successful man, in loving a man with a complicated past.  I could identify with her desperation when an old girlfriend emerged as a threat and I could totally understand how Pearl at times ran and hid as a means of self preservation. I could understand and identify with Pearl because she was written in a way that incorporated the very complex and contradictory characteristics of women.  Pearl was an everyday woman thrust into extraordinary situations.  What I appreciated most about Pearl was her formidable spirit to keep going on, to strive for what was important.  I loved how Pearl, even when facing a future without the man she adored still walked her life  with dignity and grace all the while overcoming a traumatic experience.
The advantage of this all in one trilogy is that you don't have to wait to explore Pearl's adventures.  You don't have to worry about nasty cliff hangers and the next installment.  You get the pleasure of reading it all at once.  And a pleasure it will be!

I found Pearl frustrating at times. For someone who works in a professional role and supposedly 40 she behaved like someone in their early 20s, insecurity and indecision is something I absolutely loathe. I did love the characters though and remembered that in fiction people are not exactly like real life. The story was wonderful and helped me escape the crap I was having to deal with at home.

This book is well written, with characters well defined where you become so involved it plays in your mind like a movie. MUST READ! About time someone wrote a love story of a 40 yr old woman. This book which is three books in one took me at least a week and a half to two weeks to complete. It was an exciting book have a lot of sexual content but aside from that the storyline is fantastic it's greatly a recommended read. I'm unable to locate a lot of her books but as far as the pearl trilogy

This is a very good book. it moves fast and is hard to get to bed and continue tomorrow morning. I loved the story and am amazed at how easy the age difference between them never is an issue. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a great book.

4 1/2 stars for this series! It has everything, love, hot sex, a hot billionaire with a sexy accent and a beautiful older woman. Add to it a touch of mystery and it's a book you'll find reluctant to put down.

I got the trilogy on sale, was looking for a good read, I find it hard to pick up another book after reading such an enticing book like Fifty Shades. This story is sooooo good! I'm almost done with the last book, but taking my time I don't want the story to end!!! Its worth the money! If you like the love story and erotic sex and multiple orgasms you will like this read!!! Take a chance! I did!

I haven't got much experience reading books with erotic images and ideas, but the 2 or 3 I had read had left me with no desire for more.
I must say Arianne Richmond's book really impressed me. The language flows beautifully opening worlds I have not experienced before. There is obviously an artist at the core of it, and the glamour of the described people and settings is suitably matched by the subtle elegance present even in the raunchiest of sex scenes.
Pearl feels real and her insecurities and self analysis very close to what I believe most of us experience in our relationships.
Well done Arianne!

Loved this whole series. It has a sense of humor, mixed with passion and intrigue. Beautifully written, evocative, and with great descriptions of places in France, the US, Hawaii . . I loved the older heroine, who has insecurities, yet is strong and interesting. A great read for anyone fed up with the same old story line. This series is different and much better written than other like it in this contemporary/erotic romance genre. Onto the next two books in the series PEARL and BELLE PEARL.

I love a series and/or a trilogy and the great reviews for this one convinced me to try it. All I can say is -- did I read a different book than all the people giving this book 4 and 5 stars?! I forced myself to finish the first book of the trilogy, but it was a chore. It was by far the worst book I've ever read and the only Kindle book I've ever returned. I didn't just dislike it -- I hated it. I hated the characters (Pearl was needy, pathetic, and childish and Alexandre was just kind of smarmy) and the terminology used throughout the book ("Pearlette," "Oyster," "V-8" -- really?!) hovered between bizarre and cheesy. As for plot development, there was none. I understand this genre of books requires some suspension of disbelief and the pace tends to be faster than a typical romance novel but, without giving away spoilers, I'll just say these 2 went from 0 to 60 fast enough to give me whiplash and it was 100% unbelievable. If you are looking for a great follow-up to Fifty Shades of Grey, save yourself from this disaster and try The Stark Trilogy, The Cross Trilogy, the Fixed Trilogy or anything by Lorilei James or Nicole Edwards (not trilogy, but both have great series).

Starting reading a different type of book since spending most of my life in King and Kontz land. The series kept my interest and was entertaining. Though the ending was over quick and could have been a little more exciting.

I couldn't make it past the 9th chapter in the first book. I just didn't like her style of writing, particularly how Alexandre talked. It was super cheesy. I found myself rolling my eyes at the way he talked to Pearl in the intimate scenes. It reads like what I imagine low budget porn would sound like. I ended up returning it for a refund, I just couldn't stomach anymore. 50 shades was a much better read, in my opinion.

To find all three in the Pearl series together is awesome. Ms Richmonde carries the contenuity of the three stories, so you get the whole story and you don't have to wait the next book to come out! Great job!

Shades of pearl was my first erotic novel, I loved every single page! The romance between pearl and Alexandre is breath taking, the erotic scenes make you feel like your in the book, the events - twists and turns keep you gripped and wanting more! Arianne Richmonde is a superb writer, I've read all her work and very much look forward to reading more!

It was ok. It had too many "fifty Shades" things in it. For example: vanilla sex, Mrs. Robinson the young rich man, the crazy ex girlfriend etc. The sex talk was a bit much. Too raunchy. Not well written when it came to the sex. The words she used were a bit too much.

I'll admit the first book came out swinging with its graphically descriptive sex scenes. The hope that the book would evolve into a convincing love story was quickly diminished though. The story was ridiculously all over the place. That fact that the 40-year old main character was flippant and nonsensical led to me quickly disliking her illogical antics. Overall the series kept my attention enough to finish the book, but in all I can only say that it was okay.

Aside from the misuse of words and punctuation mistakes, these books were a bit juvenile. I'm rating all three at once because they where pretty much the same. First off, too expensive. I definitely did NOT get my money's worth. There were parts of the story that were absolutely ridiculous. And the sex scenes were all the same. Nowhere near Fifty Shades of Grey, not even close. I'm a tough reviewer, but even if I wasn't, the most I'd give is three stars.

I'm so happy I got this fore free. Would be demanding a refund otherwise. The characters weren't developed at all. The attraction was not really there. I never understood what he was interested in. It appeared his was so intelligent but not smart enough to know who she was or what she was or wasn't after!! I'll read part two if it's free, but will not buy it!!

This had to be the worst book ever. The author was all over the place. I do not like to give reviews at least bad ones but I could not let this one go it was that bad. Where does all the good reviews come from for this book?
