I am very disappointed that I finished the book, as it means saying goodbye to Uh, Integrity Adair. Very few authors can keep my interest at the level that Helen Harper maintained, and even fewer would have me in the stomach-twisting, knotted anxiety and frustration that I experienced when Aifric Montcrief had been responsible for the death of a beloved character and had set Integrity up to take the fall. In fact, I believe it was last done by J.K. Rawlings in the Prisoner of Azkeban.

So, thank you, Helen Harper for giving me that with your writing. I just wish we didn't have to come to the end of Integrity's adventures.

This was a fitting ending, to an amazing series. Integrity is a strong, female protagonist; who doesn't compromise her well- established morals. She believes that she is a pacifist, and this may be true; but she is also a modern role-model for those who believe in just consequences and conclusions. An enjoyable read, in a complex and developed setting, that's far enough away from reality to be fun and close enough to learn from. This narrative is a 'must read' for all those who have yearned for the Adair Clan to be reinstated into the annals of Harper's version of Scottish history.

Lash Wish is the final book of the Highland Magic series. I will really miss all these characters!

Everything the previous books have led up to comes to a head here. Integrity, as usual, has a lot on her plate - outwitting the Steward Aifric Moncrieffe, saving Adair Lands, finding the truth about the Fomori demons, the veil, and the suffering masses beyond the veil, stopping a wedding, facilitating a right wedding, letting Byron Moncrieffe know the truth regarding her supposed death, making up with said Byron Moncrieffe.... Integrity does all this and much more with her usual flair- cracking bad jokes and sticking to her pacifist motto.

One thing I really love about this whole series, and this book in particular too, is Integrity's pacifist stand. One doesn't need to be a kick-ass heroine to be an awesome one. Integrity proves this time and time again. She relies on brain and does not fight her way through, even in dire circumstances. Integrity also has a natural, genuine and easy-going way about her that earns unshakable friendships and forges strong bonds.

I've also come to love all the secondary characters - Lexie, Speck, Brochan, Taylor, Bob, the trolls, Angus MacQuarrie and yeah, even Tipsania Scrymgeour. Tipsania has come a long way from book 1. These characters have indeed wormed their way into my heart.

However, this book was over the top and unrealistic at many times. I definitely don't buy this sudden turn of view regarding the Fomori demons. Seems too convenient to me. As was that ending with Aifric. Were some of the scenes and explanations too convenient and eye-roll worthy? Yes. Did I care? No. No, because I was busy enjoying this book, and this whole series, and I could overlook any absurdity in favor of enjoyment of the book.

Oh, and we all know what the title of this book means, huh? To find out what Integrity's last wish with Bob the genie is, do read the book!

The guy you love thinks you’re dead…check.
His dad wants you dead….check.
And a prophecy to fulfill…check.

Integrity had to fake her own death to prevent a war from happening and to give her time to figure out a plan to save everyone.
Then she hears of a wedding to happen with the guy that she loves as the groom. What’s a woman to do when she hears that? Well that’s easy… crash the bachelor party of course! With the help of her Gift, she going to find out exactly what Aifric Moncrieffe, the soon to be groom’s father is up to!
What’s to happen when Bryon finds out that Integrity is still alive? Will she fulfill her prophecy with the help of her friends and save Scotland?
To find out you’ll have to read the fourth and final book in the Highland series! What a fantastic read from Helen Harper! This is one book that was hard to put down until you get to the last page! I’m sad to see the end of this series but can’t wait to see what Helen Harper has for us next!

"Last Wish" is Helen Harper's final installment in the "Highland Magic" series. Several months have passed since Integrity faked her death. She has not had a moment's rest putting her ancestral lands back into working order along with learning how to control her gift. When Fergus shows up seeking asylum, Integrity learns that she needs to find out what Aifric Moncrieffe is up to, and if he is indeed in league with the Fomori. It's up to her to fulfill a prophecy or die, this time for real, trying.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this series. I practically read it nonstop for three days straight, that's how good it is. I can only hope that in the future Harper returns to this magical universe and we can read about what happens next.

Oh no! Not the last book! Nuuuuuuu! Integrity is one of my favorite characters :( Where will I get my pun fix now!

Aside from that heartbreak, I thought the last book was pretty well done and was mostly satisfied with the ending (both of the book and the series).

I say mostly because...****************SPOILER ALERT BELOW! Stop reading if you don't want any sort of hint of what happens!******************

I wish the Steward's end had been much more gruesome. But I say that due to my love for the main character. I actually think it was probably better he went the way he did because I think had it been gruesome, it would have been harder for both her and Byron to move forward. Also, the way he died allowed for everything and everyone to move past quickly (as in it's over and done with) and set the tone for a more positive future for all of Alba.

The Highland Magic series is really beginning to grow on me. I love Integrity and her pacifist ways. She's a truly unique heroine and I love the cast that Harper has developed. You start to love each and every character the more you get to know them. Bryon is beginning to finally grow on me. At first, I wasn't sure what she saw in him but I see where it's all maybe coming together and how they could be a good pair.

I'm enjoying the adventure and excitement that comes with each book and I'm eager to see what is next in store for our heroine.

I loved this Highland Magic series! Integrity was a great character, the supporting characters were fun, and a compelling story that developed really well.
The Last Wish wrapped up the series nicely, all ends tied and questions answered. A very enjoyable read, although it was my least favorite book of the series. I don't know....it just seemed a little slow at points, and the mooning over Byron seemed a little thick and out of character at the beginning.
The twists with May and Fergus, and with May and the Fomori at the end were nice additions. The conclusion with the Fomori was unexpected though satisfying. Alfric got his comeuppance in the end. Nothing better than that!

What a wonderful series. It is so magical and intriguing. I loved each book. The only thing I dislike is that the series is now finished and I will miss all the wonderful characters.
Helen's writing captures your heart and keeps you entertained throughout each book. Each character is fully developed and you either love them or hate them, but they do not disappoint.
She takes you away to a magical land and lets you peek into the life and struggles of each character.
I will miss Integrity, Byron and all the others. Thank you for another wonderful and engaging book. Can't wait for the next series.
I was given the opportunity to read this book for free, thank you again.

Tried to correct some spelling and accidentally posted I like each book. There was a good storyline, alot of action, and a little romance I love good characters who face seemingly unsurmountable adversity and win. The main character is a thief named Integrity and she begins in the first story completely alone and hated and ends a leader and loved. She confronts evil without the use of violence but with great compassion and empathy. And some great defensive powers. Definitely a good read here. I think that this story has a lot of meaning for today's world. I read Dire Straights by author and liked that too.

I really enjoyed reading this these books. The characters are wonderful, the pace of plot development is perfect to keep your attention yet allow you to see the world of the as the author sees it and develop an understanding of the characters and their motives. Many books are good at creating a dire dilemma for the hero, but then fall short in a feasible conclusion to save the world. This heroine was smart and cagey in her answers to the problems presented to her and she saves all with a creative and insightful solution. If I had to suggest anything, I didn't care for the couple of sex scenes in the books. Although well written, they rather spoil the nature of the story and took the book out of the recommended reading for the age group who would most enjoy them. After all, there were no sex scenes in Harry Potter, and they just seemed out of place here. Thank you for introducing me to Integrity, and I hope to meet many more such characters in your stories.

Integrity Adair is having a hard time pretending to be dead. Not only are things with Byron more complicated, but she must figure out what her enemy is trying to do before it is too late. But, as plots come to light things may not be as easy as she originally thought they would be.

This book was a great ending to this series. I really enjoyed Integrity in this one, and I loved how she reacted to Byron and how he reacted to her. Those two were perfect together, and I was so glad how it ended. Now, I did feel like this one was sort of lacking in the fighting department, but it still ended up really well!

A nicely told story. Although, some may say it was a little slow at parts there was enough pun to go around. I also have to say it was nice to have characters that remained true to how they were written. I was a little worried it might get whishy-washy on the 3rd book, but she stuck to her guns and came out blazing beautiful. I hope she writes another story in this new world. I would be interested to see how things turn out and new characters/new book same world would be lovely. I would recommend this series as good light read. Perfect for Holiday season and holiday travel!

Helen Harper, you are an amazing author. I'm hooked on these magic series now. I loved the corny jokes and had to repeat them to my son. So cute. Each book just flowed so naturally into the next one. You created such fun characters and personalities. Even little Bob, the most awesome genie, he was so much fun throughout all four books. I HIGHLY recommend this series and author. I signed up for your site and bookmarked it, so looking forward to reading more you have written.

This if the final of the series Highland Magic, as with another reader, I was not sure I really wanted it to end. It really picks up all the threads and wraps them up. You don't actually love all the players but you certainly enjoy them and that is how it should be in real life. The joining of Scotland Highlands and Lowlands is great. For those of us who know and love Scotland, Helen brings so much of it to life and having Edinburgh behind the Veil and living in the dark takes 'reeking lums' to a whole different level. Getting rid of the Steward by his own behaviour is an excellent end and allows 'Tegs' to keep her Integrity (sorry!) and pacifism safe. Even the 'bad' guys, the daemons' are the same as us, good and bad. Be warned the jokes keep coming and Bob the Genie and his Scimitar are with us to the end.

I loved this series. It was an excellent story and I highly recommend reading it. I read all four books back to back - I didn't want to put it down! I really really wish she'd write more books in this series! I want more written about the character Fergus. There is also so many more areas that could be furthered developed in this series. One small pet peeve - some spelling errors. However, don't let that dissuade you or you'll miss out!

This book was an awesome conclusion to this series!! I hope that she decides to revisit this world for updates on the people in it!!! Very satisfying series. I loved the main character and how she got out of scrapes being a pacifist. Her corny sense of humor and her ragged band of family/friends. I was sucked in and read this book pretty much in one go as I couldn't put it down. I will miss it but then I'll just re-read the series from the start!!! Must read series but start at book one!!!!

I just finished reading four books of the Highland Magic series. I truly enjoyed the humor and the depth of human growth and struggles and understanding. Well done!! I hope that Ms. Harper continues he's to grow in literary strength. I have also read some of her other series, although I have not been able to finish them as yet. However, she is definitely one of my now favored authors...yep, most definitely.

This series rated top scores for medium length books. Great plot, characters, suspense and excitement. Everyone would enjoy reading these. However I save my 5 star ratings for the epics that are 500 to 1000 pages long but that takes nothing away from the quality of these medium length novels.
