I loved how this book showcased the unique relationship between Walt and Henry. The plot took some unexpected twists but all the loose ends were tied up by the end. And the ending kept resonating in my minds eye long after I finished reading the words. Craig Johnson is magic.

Craig Johnson is the master of painting the scene in the modern western landscape of Wyoming. He is also the master of spinning a great mystery with a well known cast of characters from a wonderful series of books and 4 seasons of television shows. This is a must read for Longmire fans and a great read for first timers who have come to visit the high plains and rolling foothills of eastern Wyoming.

Love how this author stays true to his characters. I love this series and each new one invites the reader to revisit a lot of the main characters in this series. Only bad part is having to wait for the next one.
A Longmire Story (A Longmire Mystery) - The Highwayman :: Junkyard Dogs: A Longmire Mystery :: Any Other Name: A Longmire Mystery :: The Disappeared (A Joe Pickett Novel) :: Death Without Company (Walt Longmire)

Another good Longmire book; not his best but still a very good read. I have enjoyed the Netflix series, at least the first three seasons. I don't understand however why the TV series has to stray so far from the Longmire books-as well as the characters and relationships.

Craig Johnson once again takes us on another Walt Longmire adventure - his tales of Wyoming bring to life the western atmosphere so well protected and sustained here in Wyoming. HIs story holds our attention and we are entertained by the antics of Walt and Henry Standing Bear. As we live the lives of these characters we are taken by how much they are of us. If you like Wyoming you will like Craig Johnson.

This series is absolutely wonderful. It's full of vibrant characters who are intense and larger than life. While beautifully descriptive of the flora and fauna, the plots never disappoint with moments of laugh-out-loud hilarity sprinkled throughout.

did not like the ending but otherwise a good Longmire story--little hard to follow as it kept jumping from present to past without any indication so reader had to try to figure out whether it was past or present

I enjoy Mr Johnson's rich imagination and realistic turn of words for each personality.
Am fond of Walter, Vic, Henry, Ruby and Dorothy. Lucian is a special piece of work, isn't he..
Read them all & starting over again..

I really enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes references as well as the setting, the big bike rally held yearly in SD. Johnson is once again at his best carrying on the story lines of all the characters faithfully and unerringly. Can't wait for the next one.

I have enjoyed the entire Longmire series and I just finished reading "An Obvious Fact". I hated to put it down and did not want the story to end. This book is the best one I've ever read in the series! Love the humor and the interplay between Longmire, Henry, Vic and all the others. Great read!!

These books are so far superior to the TV version it's not even worth discussing. An Obvious Fact has all the fun and excitement we have come to expect from Walt and the gang. Vic is just so hot and unpredictable,, Henry is inscrutable and Walt is just Walt. Great story in a new place. Enjoy!

The latest installment in the Longmire series does not disappoint. Mix in motorcycles, a different locale and characters you know and love - what couldn't be better. I personally like the setting in Wyoming but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This one isn't as "dark" as some of the other stories but the twists and turns are still there. Read this one. You won't be sorry.

As always Craig Johnson has written another winner! This book is really hard to put down. I'm waiting for the next one now. He puts many facts in his story that I never knew about, so not only is it a great read but educational as well.

Another excellent work by Craig Johnson. The change in location for this book gave a great perspective of a famous, yet not so well known area. A new area also brought some new, and quite interesting, characters into play.

Walt & Henry stumble into the latest scenario in a most beautiful and historic place. The story is much edgier and the language is vulgar in comparison to Craig Johnson's other books, but its still a good story.

The latest Longmire Mystery delivers vintage Wyoming adventure, even if most of it is in South Dakota. Doesn't matter. If you have read any of Johnson's earlier Longmire mysteries, you won't be disappointed. If you haven't, start now.

I became familiar with Craig Johnson through the proprietor of a genuine bookstore. Staff favorite! Every book is very entertaining , none disappoint . I will agree with others that missed the spiritual , Native American folklore present in most of the other Longmire tales. But on balance, this is another book leaving me longing for the next adventure! A really good read!

Longmire mysteries are always a good read. The Lola character, from Henry's past, was interesting, but not likable! All the more realistic for that. Henry deserves better! I highly recommend An Obvious Fact for all Longmire fans.

I have every Walt Logmire full book in my Library (plus some of the leftover short stories). The last real good story was "As The Crow Flies", that's no. 8. After that: decline begun. Now, with "An Obvious Fact" and from my point of view we have reached an all time low.

The beginning of the story is quite ok. It's the usual Walt Longmire slow start. I like that - even when it's 20 or 30 pages. But after that no real story develops. Yes, it's Henry, Vic, the greatest legal mind - but no story. No suspense at all.

It's also (at least) the 2nd story away from Walt's home turf? Why? Not enough beef left in Wyoming?

This is my pledge now: Wait for no. 13 in 2017. Buy it. Read it. If it'll be similiar stuff I'll be done with Walt. Boy howdy!

Five days after the great treat of hearing Craig Johnson speak, this reader incurred a severe injury, leaving him with nothing to do but "be grounded"... and much time to read. I had read all of Craig Johnson's works to date, so occupied my time with other current American authors, eagerly awaiting, "An Obvious Fact". The wait was worth it! I join Colonel D (see his recent review) that THIS is Johnson's best work to date (and others are great-to-superb). And for those of you who have not heard Craig (speaking locations and dates at craigallenjohnson.com), he speaks as well as he writes and is most entertaining.
