I so love the stories, every story, in this book - read it to my daughter until it was worn out and had to buy another copy, and since she has grown up, she and I have both given it as gifts many times over. "Too Many Daves" and "The Pale Green Pants" are our favorites. So fun and readable and whimsical - Dr. Seuss at his all-time best!

I recently found The Sneetches at the school library where I teach. I absolutely love the solid social meaning of this story and have been reading it to my son, hoping to instill these same morals in him. The other stories are fun as well, but The Sneetches is my favorite.

These are great stories with excellent messages. I would have liked to have given it 5 stars but there was a problem. I ordered two of these books at the same time for grandkids. One book was perfect and the other arrived missing pages 13-29 from the middle of the book. Sixteen pages missing is significant in a children's book! The pages in question were not torn out--- the book was bound without them. the store has agreed to replace the defective book but it's too early to say what I will get in the next shipment. My advice is go ahead and buy the book, but upon arrival be sure to carefully check to see that the pages are intact.

I ordered this after seeing it on the store. It was one of my favorite books growing up and I wanted to share it with my three daughters (8,6,& 2). After reading "The Sneetches" to my 6 year-old, she looked at me and said that it wasn't very nice to treat people badly because they aren't the same as us. I was thrilled that she got the meaning of that story right away. Dr. Seuss is a genius for getting these moral points across in a way that children understand and making it so fun at the same time. She thought that "The Zax" was funny. She didn't understand why they just didn't compromise. Every story in this book has an important lesson and it's such a great way to spend time with your children too!
