A fun, engaging, addictive adventure with an on-the-shelf Spinster and a consummate Scoundrel as your leading characters. This quote from the story rather says it all.
“My dear friend, you know as well as I that the end of the road is never as important as the journey taken to get there. The grail is never as important as the quest.”
I loved this story, and was actually truly surprised, and disappointed, when I turned the page and discovered… this adventure had reached its culmination. AND, YES, I will be watching for the next book in this series.

I typically am not fond of Victorian era or travel books, but this one I really liked. I loved the setting of Paris with the World's Fair and Eiffel Tower. The supporting characters were outstanding. I loved the chaperones and Derek's brother. I liked the family dynamics between the brothers and Derek and his mother. It was refreshing that Derek didn't try to hide his feelings from his family members. In fact, he enlisted their help to convince India that he was a great guy.

The one part I struggled with was the change in India. She had a straight-laced black and white personality, and I had a hard time buying into her change in viewpoint. Otherwise, I thought it was a great book. I'm wondering who gets their story next.

My apologies to the author. I had an ARC, but life intervened so I am really late posting a review.

This is an amusing and entertaining story. The storyline provides romance and intrigue and drama. The characters provide amusement and charm. What starts as an antagonistic and uneasy truce, formed to find a missing person, turns into a journey of self discovery and tentative friendship for Derek and India. Then it eventually turns into admiration and love. It's a captivating and fun story. I can't wait to read the next book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. This is my voluntary and honest opinion of it.
A Bad Boy Rancher Love Story (The Dawson Brothers Book 1) :: You Don't Know Me :: A laugh-out-loud romantic comedy that will have you hooked! :: Why Evolution Is True :: life-affirming novel that will make you laugh and cry

I was lucky enough to receive an advanced reader copy from the author. This was a very unique plot, involving a mystery and a road trip, as well as romance! India, the heroine, is always right, until she realizes that she isn't! Derek is trying to walk the straight and narrow after being somewhat of a rake. The cast of characters is quirky and lovable. Victoria Alexander is a favorite author of mine, and I am so glad this is the start of a new series. I am hoping for the next story to be about Derek's stepbrother Val/Percy.

Wonderfully written! India Prendergast sees it as her due to rescue her matronly aunt after she employed the services of the Lady Travelers Society to send her on an adventure to fulfill her desire to see the world. Derek Saunders is on a mission to prove his worth to inherit the title of Earl of Danby and to prevent his Great Aunt Guinevere from creating a blot on the family name by swindling unsuspecting, adventure seeking ladies as one of the founders of the Lady Travelers Society. India is out to prove that Derek is the ring leader behind the farcical Society and insists upon traveling with him as he searches for her errant Aunt Heloise, what she doesn't plan on is falling for his charm and his ability to make her question everything she believed to be true of him.

THE LADY TRAVELERS GUIDE to SCOUNDRELS and OTHER GENTLEMEN. Victoria Alexander had long been a favorite author of mine and she never disappoints me. This is one of the longer books I have read in a while but I enjoyed every minute spent. Victoria has a way of telling a story that grabs you and doesn't let you go. Derek was my kind of hero and who wouldn't enjoy India. I am looking forward to The Lady Travelers Guide to Larceny With a Dashing Stranger in November. (I hope it's Val's story)

This book was fantastic from beginning to end! I would never have seen the plot twist that occurred. The chemistry between the two main characters, India and Derek, is fantastic and feels oh so very real. Victoria Alexander once again made gold with this addition. I firmly recommend this novel to all romance readers and look forward to the rest of this series.

The beginning was so very frustrating.
I liked the storyline, but until like 60% I hated every single character in the book!
It took awhile to read this book for many reasons. I wanted to give up, but I saw the potential in it.
This book turned out ok not a highly recommend must read right now!

43.0% "This is taking forever. The story is good, but the characters are awful.
The only character that I can stand is Mrs. Greer.
India is beyond annoying with her holy-than-thou attitude. Yet, everyone she is in company with is higher-ranked than her. She needs a big reality check and I think she is getting just that!
Derek, will we shall see. His cousin, whom they are currently staying with, he needs a good smack"

I loved this book. Victoria Alexander delivers a true gem...it was witty, mysterious and romantic. I actually started out thinking I wouldn't like it and was I ever wrong. The main leads India and Derek were a perfect match, opposites attract and sizzle. I can't wait to see what Ms. Alexander has in store for Percy, Derek's brother.

This was an enjoyable story about a couple as mismatched as they come who find themselves in live. I particularly enjoyed the novella at the end of the copy I have which told the story of how Derek's parents met and fell in love.

Not witty. Not delightful. Not tolerable. Insipid. None of the characters are particularly likeable, all seem selfish and out to get their own way regardless of cost or honor, and there doesn't seem to be a moral code among them other than the female lead who at least has genuine concern for the missing relative. These are all personal opinions; your mileage may vary.

I could not finish this book. After reading 90 pages I had no interest in finishing it. I skimmed the rest of the book and nothing I read made me want to go back and read it in full. I'd return it if the store I bought it at wasn't so far away. I greatly dislike characters of any type who will jump to conclusions with no proof. India makes huge assumptions about Derek and Derek refuses to defend himself. Other reviewers have mentioned her intelligence but she appears an idiot to me. I had no interest in reading how these two characters resolved their differences and misconceptions.
