I really liked all three brothers in the series, and while you could read any of the books as a stand alone, they were much better as a series. I really liked how other characters were brought back in and you got to see how things went for them as well.

Story line is fun and enjoyable. I enjoyed the story of the three brothers. I found her writing style easy to read and was a good summer read. The romances where realistic and they had good chemistry.

I liked the book a lot. I discovered Jill Shalvis recently and have enjoyed each book that I've read. She's consistent in all of her storylines. The characters are well developed and easy to relate to. Kudos to Jill!!!!

Love the banter between the characters. I enjoyed this and the first in the series better than the middle story. The relationship between the two main characters in this story, TJ and Harley, was the most enjoyable of the three. Stories do not have to be read in order to be enjoyed, but there are a few references to the other two brothers', Cam's and Stone's, relationships in this book as well as two peripheral characters, Annie and Nick.

Instant Temptation is the last book in the Wilder series and I am sad to see it go. I would have loved to have a book or two more. I know there is no more Wilder brothers but I wouldn't mind having a follow up novella or something. This book is about the oldest Wilder brother TJ finding love. I really enjoyed TJ and Harley's story.
What this book is about:
TJ Wilder doesn't know what he did all those years ago that made Harley hate him. When they were in school they use to be friends, but not anymore. When they are not avoiding each other they are fighting with each other. But no matter how much they fight with each other there is this underline explosive sexual tension between them too. When TJ goes with Harley as a professional guide to help her with some Biology work she has to do in the woods will they finally talk things out and see what is between them or will they end up killing each other?
TJ is your typical Wilder brother. Sexy man's man with a yummy rock hard body. He loves the ladies but is a commitment phobe. TJ is very restless and goes on long trips for months at a time. His girlfriend Sam who was into outdoor adventures too, died on a river guide trip by being careless, so not only does he have walls around his heart, but it has made him cautious. Now he tries to be prepared for anything outdoors. Harley is a child of two hippies that bounced from job to job while she was growing up and she never felt stable and that is what she wants most in life. She takes care of her family helping them pay their bills, and giving them money when she can. She is very hard working and tries hard not to need anyone. I love that in this book you get to see Harley's vulnerable side. TJ and Harley as a couple are very sweet. They had a very cute playfulness to their relationship once they stopped fighting and some major Heat. I loved seeing all the couples again. I was so glad that Katie and Cam are in this book. I think this book wrapped up the series nicely and was a great easy going read. I will be reading more of Jill Shalvis in the future!!

This one is honestly one of my all time favourite Jill Shalvis' books! I really enjoyed the dynamic between TJ and Harley in the first two books, as you knew there was something "there' between them that they were fighting. TJ Wilder is an extremely sexy hero (one of Jill's many!). He's honest, caring, but also cautious and in many ways, afraid to fall in love, and Harley is a wonderful heroine, honest to a fault, also hopeful but unsure of herself, confused about her feelings of TJ, and struggling to believe that she could have "everything" with TJ. As they spend more time together, they discover what in the past led to their current dynamic, and for TJ, he finally understands what has held Harley back from being with him, and with those discoveries, they begin to allow themselves to fall in love, Of course, even though they are honest characters, they struggle to be honest with themselves, and then with each other, about their wants, needs, and hopes for the future (the internal dialogue is fun to read!) It was a very satisfying ending, and a happily ever after worth waiting for.

Don't tell my husband, but I've fallen in love with another man. His name is T. J. Wilder, and he's the incredible hero in Instant Temptation.
I've completely enjoyed all of the "Instant" books by Jill Shalvis, so I didn't expect this book to be any different. Thankfully, it met and actually surpassed all my expectations. I literally could not put this book down. I skipped work, I cooked dinner with the book in hand, I even stayed up well past my bedtime in an attempt to get to the end. And the ending was worth it all. It made me choke up and get weepy, it was that packed with emotion.
This book was all about internal conflict. Both the heroine, Harley, and our yummy hero, TJ, have abandonment issues. Neither is willing to take that last step and open themselves up to being completely vulnerable to hurt again. They've known each other pretty much forever, and there's an underlying affection between them that we know will easily bloom into love, especially considering the sexual tension that's so hot it made the pages sizzle beneath my fingertips.
The author throws in some external conflict, but it's nothing substantial - we know the fact that Harley is casually dating another man isn't going to truly figure into things, even when she makes a list of why he's so much better for her than TJ. It's obvious that TJ is the only man she wants. The only man she's ever really wanted.
I think that's what made this story so amazing to me. The emotional angst of the two main characters is so honest and real, so completely believable and heart-wrenching. TJ is absolutely incredible. He's not perfect, by any means. He has a temper, he's arrogant, and has trouble staying in one place. But his heart is so huge, it all but bursts out of his chest. He cares, really cares about Harley - as a friend first, and as a woman, too. He doesn't want to hurt her, and he doesn't want to be hurt.
They want their relationship to be all about sex, but it's clear to the reader (if not to them, at least not at the beginning) that it's about so much more. Don't get me wrong, the sex is hot, hot, hot but it's also incredibly tender.
I can't express how much this book affected me. I own the other two, but haven't picked them back up to read again.... not yet, even though they're really quite good. This book? As soon as I finish writing this review, I'm giving it another spin.
If you like your romance with an enormous amount of heart and plenty of heat, grab a copy of this book. In fact, do yourself a favor: read the entire series... and enjoy the fact that Ms. Shalvis saved the best for last.

Third in the Wilder romance series revolving around the Wilder brothers and their sports-oriented resort Wilder Adventures. The couple focus is on TJ Wilder and Harley Stephens.
My Take
Phew...it's a long, hard road of dancing around the critical point for both TJ and Harley. I like that TJ is careful of Harley. That he won't go further than she can accept. That he never lies to her. He's supportive, teasing, protective.
Annie has the greatest collection of aprons. Two of them say: "K*SS THE *SS, Would you like to buy a vowel?" and "IN THIS HOUSE TWO RULES APPLY. 1) I'M THE BOSS 2) SEE RULE #1'
Ooh, I like the Fritos trick! And I never would'a thought of dental floss...duh...
This is a really sweet story. No great depth, but, heck, the whole series is just sweet with its emphasis on family and love. There is a great sense of community with everyone in Wishful knowing everyone else and being supportive of each other. Naturally, the Wilder boys are hot, sexy, rugged, and very alpha. All with caring dispositions and wild reputations. Boys who managed to escape their family heritage and make something of themselves.
If you're looking for a read that is mellow, spontaneous, and all about the outdoors, you won't go wrong.
The Story
Harley is between a rock and a hard place. She's finally gotten her biology degree, but the internship she's just signed up for doesn't pay. Between her own bills and her family's mooching, she hasn't enough in the bank for food and her own rent.
Until TJ stops by and offers her a job when he drops off the maps of Desolation Wilderness. They have so many bookings and really need some extra help. Combined with Harley's photographic skills, they could really clean up. But. In the meantime, there is no way that TJ is letting Harley wander off into Desolation to check on the coyote population without backup. Him.
It's a memorable trip. TJ finally finds out why Harley has treated him like crap for the past 15 years and they get to explore avoiding each other even as they feel eyes spying on them.
The Characters
TJ Wilder leads all the long-term treks for Wilder Adventures. Escaping from home and trekking was his way of escaping his lousy home life.
Harley Stephens, the town mechanic has finally gotten her degree in biology. She has an unpaid internship checking the coyote population out in Desolation Wilderness. And she's waiting on a job offer in Colorado as a research biologist. Skye is her irreponsible, hard-partying younger sister. Her parents, Cindy and Mark, are separated and unable to be responsible enough to take care of their bills.
Nolan Lightner is the owner of the car and truck garage where Harley works as a mechanic. He's also sweet on Harley.
Stone Wilder handles the paperwork as well as leading groups, but he's getting back into renovating old houses as he continues to court Dr. Emma Sinclair who is renovating Serena's bakery for a clinic. Annie Wilder is the Wilder Lodge chef and is pregnant with not-Abigail while her husband Nick is their maintenance guy and helicopter pilot. Katie Kramer and Cameron Wilder finally get married. Chuck the cat had kittens. Rambunctious, playful, naughty kittens.
Shelly, Tandy, Lani, and Kitty are the sorority co-eds who flirt their way through the kayaking trip. Colin is a repeat client taking a long trek with TJ to evade his wedding day. Fear.
The Cover
It's another snow-covered cover with a depression of snow leading straight to a trio of evergreens in the center and a blow-up of TJ's head and shoulders hovering in the upper right corner. Five o'clock shadow on his chin, wearing a button-down mint green shirt and a grey jacket with lime green facings.
The story is the opposite of the title. It's been 15 years since TJ and Harley hooked up that first time, certainly not an Instant Temptation.

Instant Temptation by Jill Shalvis is a wickedly funny and smoking hot story.
Harley Stephens needs an upcoming trek into the wilds of Wishful, CA to go off without a hitch. Her heart is set on getting the internship as a research biologist. This trip to check on her coyotes will seal the deal. One major problem is someone is killing her test subjects. Now the trip has taken a deadly turn. TJ Wilder has stuck his nose in her business and is insisting that she won't be going alone. This is just the icing on the cake for Harley. Seems she never got out of her head her one night with TJ and to make things worse he doesn't remember it at all.
TJ Wilder pushes his self to limit everyday. A tragedy in his past has him feeling he doesn't deserve to be loved. He volunteers himself to watch out for Harley on her research trip. TJ didn't plan on being this attracted to her. He has always had feelings for Harley but could never figure out why she was so distant at times.
Spending so much time together has the truth of their one night coming to light. Both Harley and TJ give into their mutual desires but Harley thinks it can't last since the research job is out of the state. But TJ has other plans.
Instant Temptation puts the finishing touches on a sensational series by Jill Shalvis. TJ and Harley's bickering covers up a searing passion, which neither can ignore. Their relationship also has a good basis in friendship. This adds another layer to a delightful story. It was fun watching these two fall in love. In my book you can't go wrong picking up a Jill Shalvis novel.

This book was my favorite. In the first two books, readers become aware that there is serious tension between Harley and T.J. We just don't know what it's about - turns out that T.J. doesn't either! These two characters have grown up together. While there is some sort of odd tension between the two, there is also an electric spark. Harley has worked her entire life to get away from the lifestyle that she grew up in. She's on her way out of Wishful as soon as she lands her dream job. T.J. spends most of his time leaving Wishful to lead wilderness treks for his family company. Sparks fly, sexy times abound, and the ending is quite lovely.

Temptation is a woman's weapon and man's excuse. - H. L. Mencken
Wishful, California is home to the Wilder Brothers. Raised by their Aunt Annie, barely older than themselves, the brothers built a life for themselves from nothing. Together they operate Wilder Adventures and Expeditions. Shalvis featured the brothers from youngest to oldest in her Wilder Series. Book 1 is Cam's story in INSTANT ATTRACTION, which I have not read (yet). Book 2 is Stone's story in INSTANT GRATIFICATION, which I recently read. I quickly acclimated to the small town setting and the hot passionate nights. Book 3 is TJ's story in INSTANT TEMPTATION. He is surrounded by couples in love - Annie and Nick, Cam and Katie, Stone and Emma. He has a carefree attitude towards relationships, but he is dumbfounded why high school classmate, Harley, rebuffs his adult friendship.
Harley had a crush on TJ in high school. One night at a summer party, she fell into his arms - a night she remembers but he does not. The following years may have kept them both in Wishful, but each found different paths. TJ is satisfied with being the town flirt and expedition leader for his family's business. In contrast, Harley is the only responsible member of her family. She works two jobs to pay for her degree in biology, assist her free spirit mother, and encourage her college age sister. All the while, Harley still has a crush on TJ but avoids his attention as it would divert her from her goal to work for the wildlife service in Colorado. In an effort to secure that job, she ventures out to the mountains to repair cameras that track coyote movement. TJ spots her hiking alone, joins her along the way, and helps her survive the rain. Their time in the woods gives TJ the opportunity to ask Harley why she is visibly angry with him. I applaud Shalvis for allowing Harley to reveal to him their past passion ... and their diverging future. The reveal comes one third into the book - Shalvis does not drag it out as there are other obstacles to conquer.
Temptation is an impossible hurdle to overcome as both come to appreciate what the other has accomplished. Their physical attraction is enhanced by the respect growing between them. What starts as an internal conflict of an unrequited crush turns into a question of giving up a future dream to satisfy a past desire. Shalvis delivers the passion, tension, humor, and action in her trademark fashion that makes her a must read for contemporary fans seeking a romantic escape!

Every time T.J. laid a hand on Harley, I was buzzing with excitement but countless times they were interrupted and it nearly caused me to go bald. There's just something potent about that T.J. Wilder! ~ Under the Covers
The hero T.J. Wilder is a roughened outdoorsman with hot motorcycle and a sense of humor, a protective streak and the happy hands of a horny teenager . His green eyes are striking, causing you to melt into yourself and those six buddies he calls abs goes everywhere he does. All that is channeled into the Big Bad Wolf and T.J. turned out to be the cause of some of my wildest dreams! Let's not forget the raw sex appeal that simply oozes from his pores. The guy is one sexy beast!
T.J. and Harley have known each other for most of their lives. As friends, they used to hang out with each other when they were younger. But after one night of too much alcohol and what seemed to be a lifetime to repressed emotions, Harley and T.J. share a night that either they can't remember or one doesn't want to remember.
Now older and supposedly wiser, Harley is experiencing some financial problems. A trek to study a rare coyote is the next thing on her agenda, but T.J. isn't willing to let Harley go off alone without his professional guiding, especially when danger begins to reveals itself in a series of coyote deaths.
Meanwhile, Harley and T.J. try to come to terms with their shared pasts and how a future with each other would turn out. It isn't easy and a lot of distractions stand in the way, but as with all of Shalvis's books, true love always prevails!
There were a lot of cute moments in this book. Shalvis turns up the sexual tension in this book until it's almost unbearable. Every time T.J. laid a hand on Harley, I was buzzing with excitement but countless times they were interrupted and it nearly caused me to go bald. There's just something potent about that T.J. Wilder! Though not my favorite in the series (that still goes to Stone and his adorable fear of needles), I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Shalvis never fails to make me fall in love.
As the last book in the series, I'm super bummed to note that I'm almost caught up on all of Shalvis's books. I'm not sure what series I should explore next! If you're a Shalvis fan, let me know in the comments which series/book I should go for!

In the Sierras, T.J. Wilder and his brothers Cam (see Instant Attraction) and Stone (see Instant Gratification) run Wilder Adventures, a wilderness outfitter firm. Having obtained a degree in wildlife biology Harley Stephens has returned home to Wishful, California hoping to land a research assignment in Colorado, but accepts any job for now that will lead to her achieving her goal.
T.J. and Harley knew each other in high school before she left for college. They are attracted to one another, but neither wants to explore their feelings as both fears commitment. However, when they go into the wilderness to check on her failing cameras that are studying a rare coyote breed, they cannot resist any longer.
The third Wilder wilderness romance is a fun tale of two people attracted to one another even in high school but denying their feelings. T.J. and Harley share personality traits that lead to the conclusion that unlike opposites who allegedly attract similar are parallel lines unless something forces them to converge. Although the clash between the lead couple feels minor, fans will enjoy love's rocky ride in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

I love this series, but this book was a disappointment. The romance could have been there, had Harley been less of a prissy, uptight brat. Honestly, I couldn't figure out why she liked him, other than that she thought he was drop-dead gorgeous. She was shallow and annoying. TJ was sweet and funny and wanted to make the relationship work. I don't know why, seeing as how Harley only wanted sex with him. She didn't want him to break her heart and was afraid to give in, but there was no evidence that she actually felt anything but lust for him. I kind of felt bad for TJ and thought Harley was stupid for having sex with him knowing he was kind of tipsy when they were younger.

Another great book and great series for Jill Shalvis. The girl really knows how to suck me into her stories. I had to force myself to put the book down and get a little sleep. But all the while i was thinking about how stubborn both TJ and Harley are. But you know what they say "the bigger they are the harder they fall". And these two are about to fall.
I am a little sad that this is the last book in the Wilder Series and really hope that JIll will bring us back to Wishful, California at some point in time for an update on the Wilder boys and the very strong women they fell in love with.
If you love Jill or any of her books and have not read the Wilder series you really need to go pick up this trilogy. It is so with the time to read.

Instant Temptation by Jill Shalvis
This Wilder family saga is about TJ. He's the planner for the group.
Harley is a nature biologist and she and TJ have a sexual past but he was drunk and doesn't remember a thing.
She is under pressure, the rent is overdue and she needs to make a choice about her job. TJ has offered tours, she can guide others that will keep her away a few weeks at a time.
He's got a thing from her so bad that his way to avoid her is to escape to Alaska and do wilderness tours.
If she can get the grant she can relocate to CO and get a good paying job there.
Sexual tensions arise when she's out tracking the coyote population as part of her job and he shows up. They are able to talk and get things off their chests...

Jill Shalvis knocks another book out of the park. Harley Stephens has loved TJ Wilder since high school after a memorable one night stand that he doesn't remember. She has worked hard to become a wildlife biologist yet TJ decides he must accompany her into Desolation to fix cameras which are taping coyotes. Let the fun begin when they embark upon this adventure.

All of the characters in the story are well written, which helps keep the story flowing. TJ's family push and prod him and sometimes manipulate situations to try and get him and Harley together because they can see what neither TJ nor Harley want to admit. Similarly, Harley's sister consistently teases her about TJ so he is never far from her mind. They all enrich the story and keep it fresh while they help push it along to what turns out to be a fantastic conclusion.
Jill Shalvis has written a wonderful story to finish off her series about the Wilder men. Her descriptions of the natural beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains paint a wonderful backdrop for the story of two people who love trekking through the wilderness almost as much as they love each other. Anyone who enjoys contemporary romance and the outdoors will definitely enjoy this book. - Karin

This was an amazing love story about two people who were afraid to love on a permanent basis. She was leaving for an internship as a biologist in Colorado and he was always going on long treks to Alaska to run away from his life. Every since TJ lost his first love Sam he has been escaping. Harley is the one person he could not run away from no matter how hard he tried. She just could not leave the one true love of her life TJ. They keep trying to walk away but just could not do it. In the end they finally gave up and admitted their love and attraction was permanent and lasting. It was a great novel to end the Wilders series of books and makes you feel happy for these hard working guys.

This was such a fun series! There was passion and humor. I fell in love with the Wilder Clan! Jill creates characters you can fall in love with and laugh with. I had many laugh out loud moments during this book. Harley and TJ were great characters with a great story, they had history to overcome and unfulfilled passion quit a few times. I would highly recommend the Wilder series for a fun, passionate read!!
