I loved the Wilder trilogy by Jill Shalvis and then was not much of a fan of her other books. When Animal Magnetism started I decided to try and I became a big fan in a hurry. This was probably my least favorite of the series but it was still enjoyable.

Zoe Stone has decided to start dating. She's getting ready for her next blind date. Her sister is recommending she does something different with herself, to be spontaneous for a change. She decides, what the heck? Just be different. When a hot guy knocks on her door, she kisses him on the lips. Too bad the guy is not her blind date but her brother's friend, Parker, who's coming to stay with her as her new roommate. Insert awkward pause....

This is my first Animal Magnetism book and I think you don't need to read the others to enjoy this one.
Zoe was a darn good pilot and she has always been the mature, sensible sibling. She took care of her brother and sister while her parents remained clueless. Her brother Wyatt is happy with his girlfriend Emily and her sister Darcy is in love with AJ. They all make an appearance is this book (I believe both of this couples had a book already).
Zoe is a disaster at home. She has no idea how to fix the simple things that break in her grandparents home but she can fix a plane engine in a heartbeat. Zoe is also the proud owner of Oreo, a rescued dog who's scared of men and other dogs. To Zoe's surprise, Oreo loves Parker from the get-go.

Parker is U.S. Fish and Wildlife special agent. He's on leave after being injured recently. Even though, he's supposed to be recuperating, he's investigating a criminal poacher. On his last mission they lost a man and Parker wants him behind bars. He was not counting on falling for his roommate, loving her dog, adopting two cats or fixing the house.

This book is exactly what you need to read when you want a feel good book. I love animals and the scenes with Oreo and the kitties were my favorites.
Zoe was sassy and Parker was sexy. Perfect combination!

There is a downside to listening to an audiobook, actually a couple: 1) Spelling characters names right, because there can be so many variations and spelling that it could get ugly. 2) Quotes. There are some awesome quotes and unless I have a paper in front of me they aren't going to get down. However, All I Want is still a fantastic book. Seriously, can it get better than this? Technically it can, but we aren't going to focus on that. Oh no, we are going focus on the goodness of Parker and Zoe.

The last couple of books have been focusing on Stone family. Now everyone has moved out and Zoe is left with just a house. Granted everyone is still in Sunshine, but she's feeling like an empty nester and doesn't know what to do. So, when Wyatt asks if one of his buddies could stay with her, why not. The first time we meet Parker is hysterical. I mean Zoe totally mistakes him as her blind date and gives him a big old kiss. What a welcome. *Laughing hysterically* Anyway, I love Zoe. I mean she had to be the strong one when they were all growing up. Her parents were total flakes. Maybe not in the typical sense, but that their own self-importance was too much to take care of their kids. Basically, Zoe has made a fortress to protect her heart from anyone coming into radius. There is more about her fortress (of solitude). When Parker crashes into her life, he kind of turns it upside down.

Now Parker is married to his career. No one is getting in his area, because that carries too much risk. I love Parker, because he was able to get into Zoe's fortress. Even when he did handy stuff around the house, and he try to play it off that she did the job. Zoe's on to him.

HOLY MOLY do these guys get hot. Not kinky stuff, but a I need a little fan. There are some parts I'm blushing myself. Melt me into a puddle of goo. Parker is the total package, and he's trying to catch a bad guy too. This was time well spent. Plus, Karen still does an amazing job at reading All I Want. Now I totally want a story for Kel. He seems to strike out with the Stone girls. Darn it I want more Magnetism books, which I HOPE there is more. Anyway, a great time listening to All I Want.

Each time I read a new book by Jill Shalvis, I am totally amazed, engrossed and thoroughly happy to be in the world she has created with her written word!

Zoe mistakes Parker for her blind date…and the first thing she does is kiss him…even before the date…or introductions have been complete. Talk about an interesting way of beginning a date. Zoe felt that getting that pesky end-of-date kiss over with would lessen the whole first date jitters. Good in theory, IF she had actually kissed her blind date. Turns out she kissed her brother’s good friend, who has come to rent a room in Zoe’s home while he is on leave from work (well that is the official story, though he unofficially continues to work – much to the chagrin of his boss!!!). As usual with the men that Ms. Shalvis creates, Parker is no slouch. He is a handsome, in shape, SEXY man (okay…this is how I visualize Parker) who immediately is intrigued by a woman who kisses him right off the bat…..and she has a great dog named Oreo.

The story line regarding Parker’s continued unofficial work is interesting and tied in very well with Zoe’s work. At times though, I wanted to shake Parker as he just did not want to listen to his boss with respect to the whole situation. I shuddered when he kept putting himself within harm’s way. Especially as feelings began to develop between Parker and Zoe. Zoe – I like a woman in an unusual occupation (small plane pilot), though in this day and age it may not be so unusual. She had her own challenges and insecurities in the dating arena and that certainly provided a bit of comic relief  (though that was most certainly not Zoe’s intent…).

My favorite visual of the book – from a shower scene  of course:

“She could still see him as he’d been in her shower earlier, the room steamy and humid, his long, lean, hard boy slick with water and soap running in rivulets down his body.”

The chemistry between Zoe and Parker is undeniable. The banter between them is also undeniably cute and peppered with innuendo:

“Zoe dropped her things and crouched down to give Oreo a doggie treat from her purse. ‘Who’s a good boy?’ she murmured. ‘Well, I don’t like to brag, but I’ve been pretty good,’ Parker said. She lifted her gaze to where he’d stopped in the doorway between the kitchen and the living room, leaning against the jamb. ‘Do you want a cookie, too?’ she asked.”

The journey for Zoe and Parker is filled with angst and frustrations but separately and together, with perseverance, they come together (eventually) and isn’t that what we all want in life…love of a good man or woman and our animals.

I must say…the moment the two kittens entered Zoe’s house (Parker could not resist the next door neighbor kid!)….I just knew they would not be surrendered for adoption. Their fate was sealed when Zoe actually named them. And the relationship between Oreo (Zoe’s Bernese mountain dog) and the kittens is priceless, especially given Oreo’s comfort (read…discomfort) with cats!

I thoroughly enjoyed the ride I was taken on by this novel. Thank you, Jill Shalvis. I shall continue my quest to read the other books in this series which I have not read!

My Thoughts:

Whenever I read a Jill Shalvis book, I am guaranteed a sweet, charming, sexy, and flirty romance. I was very content to return to Sunshine Idaho. Ms. Shalvis makes me yearn for small town life, and I can tell that she is an animal lover like myself. I don't know how she does it, but she really makes the pets in her stories come to life with a personality all their own. Animal lovers need to read her Animal Magnetism series. Each one contains adorable pets that play a significant part in the story.

All I Want, is Zoe Stone and Parker James' story. Zoe is a Pilot and also gives flying lessons. She is lonely and is suffering through the "empty nest syndrome," because her two younger siblings that she has been taking care of all of her life, have moved out. When her brother, Wyatt, asks her if his good friend Parker can stay at her house, while he's vacationing in Sunshine, she agrees.

Parker works for the Fish and Wildlife Service, and has been given information that a poacher he's been tracking is currently in Idaho. Parker's job is his passion, and even though his boss told him to leave the case alone, he's never been much of a rule follower. When Parker meets Zoe, a case of mistaken identity gets him a scorching kiss. This sets the stage for Parker and Zoe's chemistry to take off, and as Parker is staying with Zoe, things between the two of them become heated. However, Parker's stay in Idaho is temporary, and his job is not conducive to a long term relationship....

All I Want was a charming, fun, and heart-warming story. I loved Zoe's strong, stubborn, feisty, and independent personality. Her motto about every problem that came her way was, "I got this!" I loved how spirited and fiery she was. Parker was a sweetheart. He had a younger sister with down syndrome, and I loved how adoring and compassionate he was with her. He was also very patient with Zoe when she gave him hell, and went out of his way to be there for her, even as she insisted that she could take care of everything on her own. These two were very passionate individuals, and together they were dynamic!

I loved getting to read a little bit about Zoe's siblings, Wyatt, and Darcy, as well as their significant others. Zoe's dog Oreo, and her two kittens, Bonnie and Clyde set the stage for entertaining shenanigans, sweet moments, and made me smile a lot!

My Rating:

I give, All I Want, by Jill Shalvis, 4 Sweet, Warm, Lovable, and Light-Hearted Filled Stars! I'm ready for the next book in the series!!!

“I’m not annoyed by you,” he said.
“No?”
He smiled. “No.”
“What are you?” she whispered, still staring at his mouth.
“Lots of things.” He pulled her up and rubbed his thumb over the stain on her jaw, feeling a surge of satisfaction when her breath caught again. “Including turned on.”

ALL I WANT by Jill Shalvis is a delightful contemporary romance set in small-town Sunshine, Idaho. Even though it is the seventh installment in the author's Animal Magnetism series, I found it to be a very enjoyable read on its own. How has this series escaped me? ALL I WANT is well-written with sexy guys, strong women, cute animals and swoon worthy romance. Suffice it to say that I have added the whole series to my must-read-soon list as this one was deliciously fun! This was the story of pilot-for-hire Zoe Stone and U.S. Fish and Wildlife agent Parker James.

I loved both the hero and the heroine. Zoe lives with Oreo, a Bernese Mountain dog she has rescued, in an old home that she's attempting to keep up and renovate. She does not excel at baking, nor at home repairs. As Parker said: “You can work on an airplane but you can’t fix anything here at the house?” Her favorite saying is "I've got this," even when she doesn't. Her positive attitude is how she's survived raising her siblings and making it on her own. She is tenacious with a good heart. Now that her brother and sister have moved on, she'd like to find someone to love too. She's made a list of attributes that the perfect candidate for her affections needs to possess. Parker does not fit her Mr. Right definition.

Parker has issues. He was a disappointment to his parents. He has a sister that he dearly loves, but his parents do not approve of his influence with her. He's a workaholic. On the good side, he's awesome to find in your kitchen in the morning.... you'll have to read this book to discover all the reasons why. The way he cares for both wild and tame animals melts my heart. He's very good with home repairs :-) And did I mention that he's HOT?

I really appreciated that Shalvis shined the spotlight on two difficult subjects in this story. Neither detracted from, nor overwhelmed the tale, but both are dear to my heart. The villain that Parker was tracking was an international animal poacher and trafficker of ivory, rhino horns and the like. AND Parker's sister and her best friend were both disabled. KUDOS to Shalvis for tackling both issues in such a wonderful way!
The audio was excellently narrated by Karen White. She delivered both female and male genuine-sounding voices differentiating between each, so I could always tell who was talking. She even voiced the animals - the silly dog, two cute and playful kittens, and the wacky parrot, Peanut- perfectly. Her performance was well-paced with proper pauses and expression of emotions and feelings. There was nothing that fell short with Karen's rendering and I look forward to listening to more audios she has narrated.

I dare you not to love this book! With cute animals, flirty dialogue, humorous moments and steamy scenes, this story is most definitely in my favorites folder. I highly recommend ALL I WANT to anyone who loves animals and enjoys fun contemporary romances with oodles of warm fuzzies.

Nothing is more awkward than mistaking her brother’s friend for her blind date, especially since she kissed him…and then slammed the door on him. ACK! Now she’s got to try to live with the guy in the house with that hanging over her head like the sword of Damacles. What’s she going to have to do to make the thought of his sexy lips and hot body go away? Maybe thinking about what her brother would say? Crap! Not even that works…

Being on forced leave sucks, especially when the case is this important. Parker isn’t even supposed to be in Idaho, and he’s still recuperating from the injuries he got the last time he had a run in with this particular bad guy. Pretending like he’s on vacation and disguising the true nature of his job from his landlady isn’t something he’s comfortable with, but he’s used to not being exactly honest with people about what he does. Working as a special agent for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife agency tends to get him into more dangerous situations than anyone would suspect–especially when he’s on the trail of a dangerous criminal who’s got nothing to lose. But now he’s involving his good friend’s sister in his activities, and she could get hurt. That makes him feel like crap, especially since he’s starting to have feelings for her that go beyond what he usually feels for his casual hookups. What’s up with that?

Maybe because Zoe is a sweetheart that had to take on raising her sibs at an early age because their actual parents loved their jobs more than taking care of their kids? Maybe because he loves the fact that she’s trying all by herself to fix up that old tumble of a home their grandparents left them–and refusing anyone’s help, anytime? And maybe because under that smart-assed independence she wears so proudly, there’s a sweet woman who’s longing to love someone–and he really wishes it was him?

Yes.

Filled with Shalvis’s trademark wit and heat, this romantic suspense is filled with great characters that you’ll love in a well-crafted story that’s sexy and sweet, tense and emotionally satisfying. Another one out of the park, Jill! Thanks!

5 - "No worries, I've got this." Stars!

Book seven in Jill Shalvis’ Animal Magnetism series starts off with an erroneous kiss, and builds on that initial contact as the story between Zoe and Parker progresses. It is the first book I have read from this series, and it can absolutely be read as a standalone.

I read a lot of books, and I can honestly say that there are only two authors that I know I can go back to time and time again, and pick up any of the many books they have written, read and never come away disappointed. I only discovered this author’s work recently, but I already have the feeling after two books that she is quite likely to become number three on that list.

”With you I’m never hard to get. I’m just hard.”

You can tell when reading this book that the characters of Sunshine, Idaho and the couples that the author has created are going to be a group that you are going to be happy revisiting time and time again. Not just romance, this book focuses on Parker’s need to bring to justice the criminal that bought about the death of one of his colleagues. Supposedly on personal leave his arrival in Sunshine, is more than just a coincidence as it is also close to the place that the man he is hunting was last seen.

”Time to fill in some blanks, Mr. Mysterious.”

I really liked Zoe and Parker together, their chemistry went from simmer to boil very quickly, and the verbal sparring between them kept me entertained enormously. Add in a dog that barks and farts, two errant kittens and a cast of likeable and relatable characters and this is a really well rounded and easy to get engrossed in romance.

”With you I’m more unsure than I’ve ever been.”

Another series I have dipped into late, and cannot wait to settle in and read the preceding books as well as any future releases, there were characters in this book that you can tell have stories to be told, and I look forward to reading them.

To put it simply, Jill Shalvis is incredible. As is her Animal Magnetism series which manages to deliver a beautiful combination of every euphoric feeling we readers turn to books for.

All I Want had a great, funny opening that instantly grabbed my attention and made me want to know more about our heroine and hero.

Zoe Stone has been independent from quite some time. She’s the mama bear for her siblings, and can definitely take care of herself. Her life in Sunshine, Idaho has been ideal, and her career as a pilot for hire is an absolute dream. Being screwed over in the past has made her focus on nothing but the people and things she loves.
Finally wanting to take a new step in her life, Zoe decides to begin blind dating.
By doing so, Zoe meets a man in a roundabout way that will change her life.

Parker James, friend of Zoe’s brother, is in need of a place to stay during his “vacation”. He turns the charm on immediately, and the effortless banter with Zoe gives him hope for a great stay in Sunshine. His blossoming friendship with Zoe is a nice distraction from the secretive take down he’s attempting to make on the big poaching operation in town. Parker is an enigma that Zoe yearns to explore, despite a part of her telling her to stay away. After all, he’s not a permanent resident of Sunshine.
Zoe and Parker are only temporary.

But sometimes, temporary is worth it.

Zoe is hands down one of my favorite Shalvis-produced characters. Aside from her inspiring independence, the woman is loyal, sweet and sassy. She’s gone through betrayal and rose above it all on her own.
Parker was such a great partner for Zoe, and he mixed up her life in the best way possible. The sweet things he does made my heart turn to mush.
Their chemistry was truly palpable and I loved seeing their relationship flow seamlessly.

The story played out with dual POV’s. It allowed me to experience both minds and know they both had their reservations despite wanting one another so badly.

With a series like this that gives us fun, relatable characters, it’s so nice to see them pop back up every now and then. It gave a nice familial feel to the overall storyline.

All I Want is a fast-paced read with sizzling chemistry, witty banter, and laugh out loud humor.
You really can’t go wrong with any Jill Shalvis book, but I highly recommend picking this one up. It’ll leave you in swoony bliss!

The latest book in the Animal Magnetism series #7 delivers everything that makes these books such a relaxing, laugh out loud read.

What is it about this contemporary romance series that brings me back for more?

Firstly - adorable animals.
Peanut the parrot may have just spoken my favorite line so far out of all the stories. Oreo who belongs to Zoe is a huge loveable dog that is nervous around cats and men. But that's about to change when Palmer takes up tenancy at Zoe's house. And his life is about to be turned topsy turvy with a couple of cute felines.

Secondly - characters that are a little flawed but very appealing.
Zoe is the eldest one and only one left at home. She has been like a parent to her brother and sisert because her parents have been conspicuous by their absence. She likes to give orders and to be in control. She is a successful and competent pilot, however not so handy at fixing those little things around the house.

Parker is just passing through, he's meant to be on a break from his job - seeking out big time animal poachers. But Parker isn't one to obey rules and he has noticed something shady going on not far from Sunshine. Also he is very handy at fixing things around the house and he has an eye for Zoe. In fact they sizzle whenever the two meet up - which is often! You can tell though he is a softie - not only for little girls that cry but also for his sister Amory, an eighteen year old with Down syndrome.

Thirdly - just a little mystery and danger thrown in.
Who has made a deal with who? Is Parker going to let that be as it may, or is he going to get involved even thought his boss has told him to keep out of it. Could Zoe be put in danger?

Another touching, sexy read from Jill Shalvis.

Shalvis repeatedly had me laughing out loud with this intricately written and endlessly entertaining novel. She brings her setting forward through constant yet subtle descriptions that work their way into your subconscious, creating a picture for the characters to walk through. This small town really comes to life in a big way. The smooth & inviting narrative really takes the story to the next level, highlighting aspects of the plot and characters in minute ways that you can’t miss. I like how Shalvis tackled many difficult subjects while writing a fun, upbeat novel that I wanted to become part of. She also shows how romance in in the small things: a look, a touch, a whisper.

There was a contradiction within Zoe – to follow her dream yet to guard herself closely, shutting herself down from others. Conversely, Parker’s caring nature, yet not wanting to care too deeply put him in a similar, if also very different boat. Not only that, but these two were just plain fun individuals to get to know. Both had exciting jobs, yet at the same time they were both common enough. Their personalities drew me in as well. As individuals they were the type of people I could see myself being friends with, yet together, oh boy! I won’t do them justice to describe it.

The secondary characters were also a blast. You really get a sense of how much family matters throughout. Zoe’s sister, well, I don’t think she hit the page without making me giggle. I love how Shalvis brings people and their pets together in this novel. Oreo, for example, was priceless. He’s one of those rare pets who really comes to life in a story without becoming more than simply a loveable pet, making an unforgettable secondary character. And let’s not forget Parker’s sweet sister. I like how Shalvis developed her. I could empathise with and feel for her, without feeling pity for her.

This is one of those fantastic novels that builds on the series that came before it while also giving readers a great standalone romance in and of itself. I could barely put it down and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

I’m always very excited about a new Jill Shalvis book so I had some high expectations for ALL I WANT, as is always the case when you fall in love with an author’s writing. This is Zoe and Parker’s book and it definitely has all the trademarks that make Jill Shalvis’s books so fun. There’s humor – quite a lot of it actually – and also a lot of heart as well.

Our heroine, Zoe Stone is a bit of a mess when her brother asks her a favor. Despite all the alarm bells ringing inside of her head, Zoe agrees to let his friend, Parker stay with her until her brother gets back to town so that they can see each other. Just as she is about to leave for a blind date, Parker appears and because Zoe has absolutely no clue what she is doing, she kisses him right there and then on her front step. It comes as a shock to her when she realizes he’s her brother’s best friend. Talk about awkwardness, huh?

If you’re a big fan of Contemporary Romances and love the style in which Jill Shalvis does it, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one. It has everything I usually like in a Rom Com but as I was reading this one, I felt like I could guess everything that was going to happen. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve read so many Jill Shalvis books that I already know her style or if this book was just too predictable.

ALL I WANT is a very cute book. There’s a lot of teasing, a lot of flirting and Shalvis builds the tension very well. As this is a brother’s best friend novel, this slow build was very important and I think Shalvis pulled it off well. So apart from being a little clichéd, I still very much enjoyed the latest installment to the Animal Magnetism series.

Zoe Stone lives in Sunshine, Idaho where she is a pilot for hire. Her life is thrown for a loop when she has her brother’s friend Parker comes to stay with her for a couple of weeks. Sparks between them fly like crazy and it only gets hotter between the two of them when she has to fly Parker around so he can collect evidence on suspected smugglers. Zoe and Parker not only live together but end up working together too. She happens to see a different side of him, which intrigues her immensely. Though he likes to give his opinion about her blind dates, she begins to realize it is only Parker that gets her motors running.

When I first picked up this book I never put it down. I can honestly say this book is beyond words fantastic. The characters seem so life like and made me feel like I actually knew them on a personal level. The words just flowed and it allowed you to feel and understand on a deep level the character’s personalities. Jill Shalvis made a strong women fall in love with a stronger man, and those relationships are always hot and steamy. It was like I was watching a good movie in my imagination with how well written this story was. Jill Shalvis is one author I enjoy reading on a daily basis, and this is not the first book I have read of hers that I couldn’t put down. All I Want is an amazing read that everyone should get their hands on.

image I love when you immediately relate to the characters and become vested in their story. That’s what happened with Zoe and Parker. They were so real and believable that I felt I knew them and cared about what happens. Despite the danger of his job, they had me smiling, laughing and swooning at regular intervals. Their friends and family added a nice dimension to everything that was going on with an easy banter that again seemed real and not forced. The romance was as sweet as it was hot, which was a great combination. All in all it was one of those books where you can’t wait to find out what happens but then feel bad that it’s over.

Love Jill Shalvis and her feel good reads. While part of a series, I read this as a standalone and had no problem following along.

Zoe is a strong, independent woman and I just loved that she was a pilot. What I found hilarious was her inability to fix anything in her house! She has an old fix-her-upper inherited from her grandparents and while she has the tenacity to want to do things on her own...she was a complete disaster. I couldn't help but laugh out loud!
Then there's yummy Parker James. A friend of Zoe's brother who is supposed to be taking a leave (vacation) from his job, a special agent for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife. But we quickly learn that he's not taking a break, he's there trying to track down his nemesis and big time criminal poacher. Parker was a flirt and had both Zoe and myself weak in the knees.
I mean come on, what woman in her right mind wouldn't fall for a man who has a rescue dog, who hates men, loving up to him in a nano-second? And who takes in two adorable kittens just to ease the tears and heartbreak of a little girl? That alone had me all gooey for him!
This was a great, fast and fun read. The chemistry between Zoe and Parker is great and while neither plan on a relationship, they both can't deny the growing bond. If you like light read that leaves you with a goofy grin, then you must read this!

This story was adorably awesome! I loved it! Sexy, funny, and sweet, I couldn't read it fast enough! I felt like I was right there, feeling what they were feeling from beginning to end. I was 100% invested!

Parker and Zoe were such fantastic characters. They had awesome chemistry with fun, playful animosity that built and built into combustible heat. I loved learning their back stories and the overall development. I was just filled with so much anticipation while reading, it was extremely witty and I found myself laughing on numerous occasions. This was just such an enjoyable read with all the sparks flying - playful and flirty. There was a fanatic build to the hotness too! I loved it all!

Woven in was an element of intrigue that added a nice amount of drama. I like how it all balanced out. I also loved the animals (seriously! so cute!). There were so many things I could picture in my head and it just made me happy. I really liked the other characters I met as well and am excited there are so many other stories in this series written that I can read.

Great ending. Sweetest epilogue ever. Everything was just so great and I couldn't get enough. This was a story that made me happy and kept me on the edge of my seat with likable characters and a major amount of sexiness. Excellent read!

All I Want is the seventh installment in Jill Shalvis's adult contemporary romance series titled: Animal Magnetism. This is the first novel I have read by Ms. Shalvis and also my first experience with this series. From my understanding (and this reading experience), each book in this series can be read as a standalone novel.

This story features romance, a bit of thriller/suspense, mild family drama, and one sweet old dog. As far as romances go, it was OK. I liked the case of mistaken identity, the slow burn of attraction, and the addition of the suspense element, but as a whole, All I Want didn't wow me. I most likely won't be continuing this series but I'm sure established fans will be happy to find another book has been added. If you love reading romance and enjoy finding new-to-you authors, then give this book a try. You never know, it might have your name written all over it!

My favorite quote:
“He doesn’t seem that nervous to me,” Parker said. Oreo farted audibly. Zoe fanned the air. “See? Nervous.” Parker laughed. “My guess would be he’s eaten some of your cookies.”

I think Zoe needs to not take advice from her sister Darcy. Or maybe she should take more advice from her.
This was a fun book. I loved Parker. He is all rough and tough but a sucker for big eyes, tears and little animals. He is also sneaky, handy and really easy on the eyes. Therefore it make him the perfect person for Zoe.
Zoe “I got this” Stone is one tough nut to crack. She does make things a little hard on Parker (but for good reason). But these two together were great. *wink, wink*
I loved Oreo and Bonnie and Clyde.
As always Jill writes a story that leaves me wanting to read more about her characters. I am so happy that Zoe finally found her match. I can’t wait to see what Jill has in store for us next!!!

Cyndi and Loredana back here rocking the buddy read…#BRBesties. This time we picked up All I Want by Jill Shalvis. It’s part of the Animal Magnetism series. We get to meet Zoe and Parker. They think they’re so wrong for each other, yet they’re so right. And, it all started with a little kiss. See our review full here: http://wp.me/p6IS1R-dc

Cyndi: All I Want is only the second book by Jill Shalvis that I've had the pleasure of reading. I now know that I can turn to any of her books for slight angst and lots of sexy. I think her stories are also great candidates to get me past some of those icky leftover feelings of misery from those dark reads that end up on my Kindle. Rating wise I'm giving it 4 stars with my recommendation.
Loredana: I give this book a solid 4 stars and strongly suggest you read the other books in the series to get a more complete picture of the characters. It can be read as a standalone, but I believe it's a better reading experience when you read them in order.

In my book (pun intended), there's not anything more fun than a Jill Shalvis story. The heroine in this book is Zoe. She's trying to date, but keeps getting stood up. She wears dresses that sound like something my grandmother would have worn. She's trying to fix up her house herself, but consistently makes the plumbing worse when she "fixes" it, etc. My mother-in-law could teach her how to do it with duct tape, but I have the feeling Zoe would probably end up with the duct tape in her hair or a similar disaster.
Parker shows up at her door and Zoe thinks he's her date. She plants a big kiss on him and we're off to the races. Parker has actually been sent to rent a room from her. He's an Alpha Male that goes behind Zoe and fixes her efforts to repair things. (Really, how did Zoe ever fly her plane?) Parker is doing some undercover work on his own to try to put away a bad guy. He's pretty busy with that, but has plenty of time for some under the covers work with Zoe. What a great book!

It happens every time Jill comes out with a book. There’s a sink full of dirty dishes, cookie crumbs, and bags under my eyes. I’m bleary-eyed and in need of a triple shot of caffeine. Heck, maybe hook a bag of java to an I.V. I’d do it again because All I Want is so so so good. No one does sexy alpha male like Ms. Shalvis. Combine a great story with yummy Parker and strong, resilient Zoe with page-turning tension and, well, you’re up all night because you need (NEED) to finish the book.
So plan ahead. Get your dishes done, call for take-out delivery and start reading early in the day so that maybe you can finish before you look at the clock and realize you have to be up in a couple of hours.
But be sure you do it—buy the book, read it. We all need to band together so Jill will keep writing these wonderful stories. Remember…sleep is highly overrated.

I just love Jill Shalvis, and her Animal Magnetism Series is my favorite out of all the series that she has written, with her Lucky Harbor Series running a close second behind that. All I Want is the 7th book in the Animal Magnetism Series, and while each novel is a companion novel and can be read as a standalone, you are missing a treat if you don't read them in order, especially the first three books in the series. After that, you can mix them up if you like, but the first three really need to be read in order. I couldn't wait to start this one, but yet I wondered how in the world could Shalvis come up with a hot guy that could top and/or even equal Brady Miller or the Connelly brothers, Dell and Adam, who are my favorite hotties in the series. Let me just say, Parker "OMG" James, has earned his spot amongst the hottest of the hotties in my "Jill Shalvis Male Hotties Harem List."

All I Want is Zoe, who we've met in the previous novels, and Parker "OMG" James' story. If you are familiar with the series, Zoe is Wyatt and Darcy's sister. If this is the first book in the series that you are reading, this will become apparent, and this book is written in such a way that you won't fill like you are missing something by not reading the prior novels. Zoe is a pilot, and has worked very hard to achieve that goal, incurring a lot of debt along the way. She also lives in the old family home, which could better be labeled "the money pit," but wouldn't have it any other way. Very independent, stubborn, and strong-willed, she is determined to do, fix, and handle everything that needs doing, fixing, and handling herself. She's been burned in the past by the male species, so needless to say, she is reluctant to let one of the critters back in her heart, life, and especially her home, with the exception of her dog Oreo, who barks and farts simultaneously. Her brother Wyatt has asked her to let his best friend Parker stay there for a few weeks while on vacation, and the fact Wyatt asked her, plus she could really use the rent money, has her giving in.

A blind date mix-up, a granny dress, and an awkward but really hot kiss gets this story started off with a laugh, a sizzle, and the romance that Jill Shalvis is famous for. (You'll have to read the book to decipher what that all means, but trust me, you'll enjoy it). The chemistry between Zoe and Parker "OMG" James is off the charts. She's wary of getting something started, and he's got a hidden agenda that he hasn't shared yet, the likes of which sets the stage for an element of danger in this story on a level that we haven't seen yet in the previous novels. As these two explore their chemistry, they find that there is a lot more to their relationship than just that as fears, desires, hopes, dreams, haves, have-not's, and what are perceived as never-will-be's come into play. In the process of this, however, there is a lot of funny times and hot romance that balance it all out. The danger escalates, choices are made, and hearts are broken in the process. But nevertheless, in that Jill Shalvis tradition, love finds a way, and it is all oh so very good.

All I Want is a wonderful addition to this fantastic series and is definitely one of my favorite novels out of the bunch. Fans of the series, of Jill Shalvis, and of contemporary romance will definitely want to check this one out.

This was the perfect comfort read for me - sweet and sexy. I generally enjoy Ms Shalvis romances and the Animal Magnetism series is one of my favourites.

The story follows a familiar route for Ms Shalvis - an alpha hero who is hiding a tender heart falls (against his will and his better judgement) for a lovable, strong heroine who is good at her profession but unlucky in her love life.

Some these stories work better for me, some have minor things that annoy me and make them not so perfect. This one falls in the first category.

I liked both Zoe and Parker, enjoyed their roommates romance and the crime plotline was intriguing enough without overshadowing the love story. I enjoyed the easy flow of the story, the lack of artificial drama or angst. The concerns and misgiving both Zoe and Parker had when it came to them being together rang true and believable. I understood Zoe's desire to move on with her life but I could also relate to her fears. She took the temporary nature of their arrangement, yet she couldn't help want more and when the time came, she was open and upfront about it.

Parker is obsessed with his job and falling for Zoe came as a total surprise for me. His confusion about what to do felt natural to me. He made some bad decisions but in the end he found the right path ahead. He had to make big decisions about his life and his future and this is never an easy thing to do.

Two elements of this story stand out in particular for me - Zoe is a pilot, she takes Parker as a client on different assignments and I really, really appreciate her being strong and independent and professional. I loved that she had this job that is still considered mostly suited for men, yet no one made a fuss about it. At the same time she was still vulnerable and feminine - couldn't bake and fix various repairs around the house despite being able to take care of her plane. On the other hand, Parker had this police/investigator job and he was all manly and strong and physically fit, yet he was totally adorable with the two baby kittens and he was most patient and considerate with his sister who had Dawn syndrome.

Both had the added pressure of complex family situations. Their parents and sibling made a create supporting cast in the story - supportive and funny and frustrating. The family dynamics are one the elements in Ms Shalvis' books that I particularly enjoy. They maybe somewhat idealised (brothers and sisters bickering but mostly being supporting and loving) but work well within the stories.

Fans of Jill Shalvis won't be disappointed with Zoe and Parker story.

Of course I start this series with the LAST book! You do hear about other relationships in this one that I am assuming are the main characters for other books. Otherwise, I think this could be read on it's own. I did enjoy Zoe and Parker's story. I think my favorite line is when her sister tells her she needs to get some real kids because she talks to her animals like her babies. I can definitely relate to that with my Smokey! I love when you read something in books and you're like, "That's so me!!" Nice romance story with a good character chemistry!

Whenever I am offered an opportunity to review a novel written by the author I can either accept the ARC copy or I can leave it. Mildly I do not consider myself a devoted reader of Shalvis's and yet I have loved the Animal Magnetism and although All I Want is not my favorite book from the series I still found the story to be likable.

This story was a cute, humorous and pure amusement as the characters stumbled their way into a memorable relationship that I think most readers are going to savor. I did for the sole purpose that is it incredibly hard not to fall in love with this series, but I do think that this book was not nearly as a strong on the animal front as the previous stories were. So that was a bit of a disappointment for me because the animals as secondary characters are what first drew me into reading this series.

I think my biggest flaw apart from the lack of animal entertainment was Zoe, the heroine. Personally I felt like she was incredibly out of place for a pilot-to-hire as I felt like was a little too clumsy and briefly at times her character came off exasperating in child-like antics. So Zoe didn't really work that well for me in the book as far as career wise goes. As for Parker, the hero I liked his character. He was not only dreamy and a huge flirt but he was masculine in both his career and in his pursuit of Zoe.

Lastly I will mention that the romance needed a bit of work. I felt like the story was more about attraction rather than an actual HEA ending. Still, I think this book made for a fun read and I would have no issues in recommending it nor the series itself.

This latest installment in the Animal Magnetism series is once again, a sweet treat. I count on Jill Shalvis to bring me fun, flirty characters that I would like to have as friends. Her hero and heroine in All I Want are just the kind of people I would like to have in my life, committed, passionate, witty, loving and fun. I especially appreciate the dialogue in this novel, I find myself repeating some of the lines in my head and chuckling aloud. All I Want is a fast enjoyable read with an extremely satisfying happily ever after. Well Done.

Jill Shalvis continues to write fascinating, hot, steamy, funny stories that I just can't get enough of. All I Want is the story of Parker, a special agent for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife, who is supposed to be on vacation recovering from injuries sustained in the line of duty. Zoe is a pilot who raised her brother and sister, who have moved out, and is looking to start her life. Zoe rents Parker a room in her house as a favor to her brother. A mistaken kiss on the front porch leads to sparks that they try to fight but ignite into some of the hottest scenes. They must overcome their different expectations to create a happily ever after.

Another wonderful book by Jill Shalvis. I absolutely love the hero, Parker. Smart, protective, funny, strong, brave...I could go on and on. He was the perfect pick to go head to head with stubborn and too serious Zoe.

I have to admit that I feel a bit bad for Kel and I'm not really sure if this was the last book in the series or if there will be more. If there are more, I hope he gets a happy ending himself.

If you like books with broody heroes and intelligent, go after what you want heroines this book is for you. Zoe is a pilot in Sunshine, Idaho. Flying is her dream job. When she meets Parker, her brother's friend, he sends her into a maelstrom of unsettled feelings. Parker's wounded and tries to remain aloof and untouchable. I love the chemistry that sparks between Zoe and Parker. It breaks through the barriers surrounding their hearts. Is Parker's job more important than Zoe? Read it!

I really enjoyed "All I Want" by Jill Shalvis. This is the last of the Animal Magnetism series and I'm sad to see this series come to an end. Each one had a great story line and the characters were well written and easy to relate to. Jill Shalvis is one of my favorite authors and I would highly recommend any of her books.
Happy Reading...enjoy!
