Read The Quilting Circle and really liked it. Ann Hood's style of writing was up my alley. Ordered The Book That Matters Most and enjoyed it even more. Find myself revisiting the plot lines often even after weeks of finishing the book.

This book is not what I expected. The plot unfolds slowly but the pace picks up very quickly. The journey that Ava started took her places that were so unexpected. I wish the story would continue for a few more months.

Read this book for my book club. So appropriate. I could not stop reading it but did not want it to end.
Looking forward to our next meeting to where the discussions will lead.
I would recommend this book.

Ann Hood has written a book that holds your interest from the very beginning. Ava, a divorced woman, who is looking to fill her life, joins her friend's book club. The theme for the coming year is " The book that mattered most." Each member names a book and the group reads one a month and discusses. Between the book discussions, we get to know Ava and the people in her life. The characters are well described, interesting and easy to follow. Her daughter's adventures in Paris are gut wrenching. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Thanks Ann Hood for a well written, interesting tale.

I enjoyed the book very much. A little far fetched but still entertaining.i am a member of a book club, not quite as diverse as the one in the book, which was a wonderful way to bring out the characters, as well as the choices of books each chose. The end has a bit if a twist, too.

Ann Hood is one of my favorite writers. Thus novel, like her others, is a thoughtful, well researched, enjoyable story. It has made me revisit my long list of favorite books to try to pick the most important. It will take a while to get through my list!
