Everything stated in this book is good advice and combines all the little snippets I heard from various concerned friends and family. So if you are really tired and lost and just don't feel like hearing people talk, I suggest reading this book in one afternoon.

It served as a reinforcement of all the things various people have already told me, and they all make sense just that sometimes when your mother tells you things, even though you know deep down that they are true, you just feel like ignoring her because well, she's your mom.

this book is almost epiphanic. i've been fighting a losing battle in a 4.5 year relationship with someone who is chronically depressed. it was suggested that i read "getting the love that you want" which made me understand WHY i was attracted to this person to begin with, as well as the reason i held in there for so long. following up with "ignore the guy get the guy" has made me see everything i did to encourage his bad behavior--i want to smack myself in the forehead b/c it's so simple and obvious, but when you're in the thick of a difficult relationship, you can't see the forest for the trees. it reads like a cookbook for every way i enabled his bad behavior. this book made ending the roller coaster with him easy (well..almost) and incredibly emancipating. from the moment i blocked him from my cell, instead of feeling fear (of being alone, whatever), it feels like a great weight has been lifted off my back. it's like going to your best, smartest, girlfriend who gives you consistently great advice--and you finally listen!

i'll be reading this book over and over again so i don't make the same mistakes in the next relationship. and so i don't forget that there ARE plenty of men "with a pulse and a penis" out there.

Overall good book. There were repetitive advice and common sense advice. Along with some I never would have thought. It was worth the buy on the Kindle app. To purchase at the physical book price I personally wouldn't.
Happy reading.

I've been on in a somewhat serious "situationship"....He gets back with me and breaks up with me all the time when he gets bored. Usually I'm heart broken for a week or so, and then I get happy, and it's almost like he smells my happiness from afar, and comes running back with sorries----and because I love him, I take him back all the time...I've always believed in "fight for what you want" (inclusive of relationships), so I would fight for him in all the wrong ways: calling him a hundred times, texting him 40 times in a row, telling him how I always feel...........This time, I read through the whole book after the break up. I feel stronger, and not so inclined to texting or calling him back....He's not my first, not my last.... It's only been 3.5 days since I've texted him, so I can't say "HE CAME BACK!".....Anywho, this time, if/when he comes back, I plan to make him chase after me for a bit....Gotta' have patience! And news for the "nice girls" like me----unfortunately, I know we don't WANT to play games and be real up front with our men-----let's be honest, its not working in this day and age....Just read the book! I know you might not want to because of heartbreak, but you'll like it....I plan on reading this again!!!

Very helpful information that really makes you sit back and look at oneself. Some things were already known just forgotten the book is a great refresher on how to remain classy and not forget your value.

Thanks for that!!

AMAZING!!! Every woman should read and live by this book!!! It reminded me of strength that I forgot I had because I was putting all of my time and energy into someone who wasn't giving me the same in return. Now I'm putting all of that back into myself instead of him, and guess who's already taking notice that my attention has shifted! This renewed my mind in exactly the way I needed it too!!! I will be reading this book numerous times so it's a lifestyle and not a phase!

not only is this book informative it makes you laugh. I bought it for a friend, who had separated from her husband. She loved it and suggested I read it. I read it twice; good book and written simply.

This book had a way of putting everything a person experiences from a breakup into perspective. Positive reinforcement and just common sense make this book a true winner. Every woman experiencing men problems really need to read this book.

I related to many of the situations that were talked about in this book. I was a total wreck after my break up but reading has helped me cope with the heart break. I will move on and gain more confidence from this situation.

Even if you're in a relationship and currently going through a rough patch; Leslie's tips remind woman of their worth. She motivates you to take your focus off of chasing a man and use that energy to better yourself and to take back your power and make yourself the 1st priority.

The author must have written this drunk and then never bothered to proofread. Or maybe a 13 year old wrote it. The grammar is so bad it's incomprehensible at times. She quotes people and studies without citation or context. Do not waste your money on this book - there are far better books out there written by actual professionals.
