tHIS IS mILTON'S CONTINUATION OF pARADISE lOST. pARADISE IS REGAINED UPON cHRIST'S ENTRANCE ON THE EARTH. iT BEGINS WITH cHRIST;S BAPTISM wHERE sATAN IS PRESENT AND WHO FOLLOWS cHRIST INTO THE DESERT AND TEMPTS HIM TO SHOW HIS POWER BY TURNING THE STONES INTO BREAD. i USED IT IN CONNECTION WITH THE SEASON OF LENT AND THE FORTY DAYS Christ fasted in the desert.

Joanna makes good decisions as a fictional sheriff. The outcomes in this particular book are super unreal. The main character Joanna seems a bit stereotyped because she is "bitchy" in her quest to be assertive and authoritative. Good read.

The hardcover is as described. I would recommend buying this on sale, though I believe the price is fair. An excellent book if you wish to get into John Milton. Paradise Lost opens an entirely new perspective on religion.

This is a must read for anybody interested in where much of modern Christian thought derives. The vast dialogue is eloquent, and it has been incorporated into many aspects of modern life that may go unnoticed.

This story, or epic poem, is a great theological and political satire. It is also just a fun and interesting read. It offers the darkness of the human condition and the hope that we can rise above it. I was very compelled.

Very interesting book ( poem). Provides the author an opportunity to give his impression of eternal truths that are based on Biblical history. Of course since he was not there he has embellished what he thinks heaven and hell are like. One suggestion if you are going to read the poem get yourself a good dictionary.

The book started off very interesting. However when it came down to reading the actual poem or what ever you call it I lost interest. Could not quite finish it. I would read a couple of pages put the Kindle down for about three or more day and then tried to read some more.

I have enjoyed the entire Joanna Brady series of books by JA Jance. They are well written, the plot holds my interest and the characters continue to develop in each successive novel. I will keep these books and others by Jance on my radar.

This is not an acceptable edition for the Kindle. You will find reading this format very difficult. I am not sure why this was put into Kindle format in this way. It just doesn't work with the numbered lines, etc. Not worth the $0 being charged for it.

Absolutely amazing, i was pleasantly surprised by its many, many pages but that is because there are detailed notes about all of the "books" in the book. Yes every section is Book I and Book II etc. Great for help in comprehending, must read for anyone who enjoys literature.

Missing from my collection, this classic was a must-have. I'm not a snob about paperback vs hardcover, so for the price, this was a nice offering. I was nicely surprised by the illustrations in this volume, and pleased with the price. I'd recommend to anyone interested in reading this hallmark tome but not willing to spend a fortune for the hardbound editions. Be practical and serious, you'll only read this once or twice in your lifetime!

A wonderful look into the philosophy of religion, and the questions any human naturally asks. Home to the favorite quote of Frankenstein's Monster, and a realm of deep thought. This book is inexpensive, completely intact, and a fantastically thought-provoking piece. Anyone who's a lover of religious and philosophical repartee will enjoy this classic novel. Anyone who's read "Frankenstein" may love is doubly so. Buy this -- you won't be disappointed!

Great version of Paradise Lost. Their are incredible amounts of very helpful annotations that make understanding the story so much easier. I bought this book for a class and the annotations along with the introduction helped me pass with flying colors.

Paradise Lost by John Milton. Published by MobileReference (mobi)

This is an outstanding edition of Milton's classic work. Paradise Lost is Milton's paean to a vast pattern in the universe, the disruption of that pattern by rebels, and the weaving of those rebellion threads back into an ever more beautiful tapestry.

Can't really beat Norton Critical Editions for extra readings beyond the actual text. Studied Paradise Lost as an English undergrad and it is probably the only reading I still keep up with. I remember an older edition of the Norton was used in class. This updated edition is excellent!

Thanks.
