I enjoyed this book of Patterson's very much. It was a little different than his other ones, and it was action packed and kept me interested to the last page. I love the character of Alex Cross and he was great in this book.

Don't know how much about this book really happens in Africa, (Thinking a lot is true) and I had to put the book down a couple of times, because it was upsetting. Still, I finished, but it wasn't my favorite book!

Very disappointing plot! Just repeated descritions of very disgusting murders and kidnappings of the "hero". Dull and confusing ending. Absolutely not worth the cost of the book. Not up to the author's normal quality of an exciting and entertaing book.

I enjoy every Alex Cross book, however, this book, Alex forgets his common sense, and quite frankly, gets other people killed. The plot.... let's just say that Alex should have been killed five or six times. Yet he is lucky, or in the most unbelieveable circumstances, he is "simply released." ...... The Early Alex Cross books are GREAT, this one approaches "silly."....... Patterson needs to return to murder mysteries, and leave to political thrillers to other writers.

Bloody and gory with a great mystery to solve! ! Only Mr. P knows how to spin it. As usual, he keeps me hanging on day and night till the inevitable end that I have never guessed after reading over 10 books of his!

As always a page turner but how many stunning women can Alex Cross meet who end up dead. How many times can he get the crap knocked out of him. Some of the earlier books were almost believable but this was just too much.

James Patterson has done it again with Cross Country. This is an excellent book that I debating purchasing because of the reviews, but I knew that I love all of J. Patterson's other books, so I just went ahead and purchased it on my kindle2.

I am sure glad that I did purchase this one. I read the book in two days and could barely put it down. This novel is about Alex Cross discovering an old love murdered violently in her home along with her family, so Alex gets very involved in this case by going to Africa to chase the killer named the "Tiger" and his young killers (aged 9-11). Alex experiences several tragedies and near death experiences while in Africa. I'll stop there because I don't want to give it away, but the book is very entertaining.

I would say this book reminds me of the movie "Blood Diamond", but with 3x's as much violence, so the book is not for the faint at heart. Also the book touches on alot of political issues in Africa that some people may not be open to reading about.

Love the Cross books. Exciting and and easy read. I would prefer that the book give more background on where Ali came from for those not aware of the previous books, and numbering them may be helpful.

To be honest, I long stopped expecting quality literature from an Alex Cross novel, I'm here purely for the ride. And what a ride I got from "Cross Country". Patterson takes Alex Cross, both emotionally and physically, to areas he has never been before, and the suspense is at an all-time high. This book is a verified page-turner, one that I could absolutely not put down. The Tiger makes for an absolutely ruthless, terrifying antagonist and challenges Cross in very different way than the Kyle Craigs of the past. It's a great detour from the typical narrative, and while it undoubtedly stretches the limits of plausibility, you can go back to my first sentence.

Patterson wrote a captivating story, keeping Alex Cross believable. Also with what is happening in Africa, the hunger and abuse. The ending was a surprise to me also. I enjoy the Alex Cross stories most. I highly recommend this book, it's a great summer read.

Night reading before bed is a habit.....until Cross Country came on my nightstand. From the first page or two you are hooked, but once Cross starts his cross country investigation this book is no longer bedtime reading. It sweeps you up into the action and won't let you go. You are terrified, then relieved, horrified, then calm, breathless, then breathing on your own. This scenerio doesn't happen just in one spot it happens throughout the entire book. I have always tried to guess the ending of Cross's adventures while reading the book, but this book prohibits you doing that. You stay with Cross just like James Patterson has planned. You are in the minute and you physically feel all the action Cross is experiencing. Is the tiger an animal? In most ways, yes...violent, secretive and cunning. Will you go to sleep after reading at night? Probably after your heart stops racing.
