Absolutely awesome series. Character development continued through all four books as did the plots and story line. I confess I was wondering how Ringo would end the series, but he did a great job wrapping up 99% of the different plot lines. The only question I was left with was what happened to Tom Smith?
I'm rather disappointed that there aren't any more in the series.
Definitely a must read if you like good science and research with your Zombie Apocalypse

Wonderful read and continuing the saga of the post apocalyptic zombie infested world. Ended up rereading it three times cover to cover as soon as I read it the first time. It was a wonderful story and now I have to go back again to see what Faith's backup plan was for the original Voyage assault! Not that I mind at all.

John Ringo has captured the stark reality of a zombie apocalypse in gripping detail. This latest entry in the black tide rising series is as fabulous as the previous three. Faith (She wolf), and Sophia (Seawolf) and the whole Smith family are in their usual rare form. Can't wait for the next book.

I enjoyed the story but would have loved less repetitive violence and some more of the ends tied up. What happened to the brother who went with the bank executives. What happened to them. Who started it and why was that not followed up.

book 4 was really good,I would recommend this chapter in the series for anyone who likes graphic/military/zombie stories. The only thing I do not like is the $9.99 kindle price tag,I think it's a little too much and I do think less books are sold becauce of this. But it is a good series

How does John Ringo come up with these great stories? I just finished this book. Readers should read all the Black Tide Rising Series to fully appreciate the depth of research placed into the books. Its an outstanding adventure to visualize. I hope he continues to write more on this story line.

John Ringo is an amazing author. No matter what genre that he covers it is apparent that he really researches what he is writing about and that a lot of thought went into the topic. With that said this entire series was awesome and is one of the best zombie books that I have read to date.

The action flows from the very first page. The wolf's are awesome but limitations are admitted and they learn. The daughters, young they are, advance, remain flexible open minded. The combat, communications, and weapons as authentic as you could ask for. Take a ride on the wild side.

John Ringo is one of my favorite authors. Obviously I enjoy military fiction, where he is one of the preeminent authors today. His Zombie Apocalypse series (Black Tide Rising seems like an unobvious title to me!) is also a cautionary tale. The disaster described here is all too possible -- as technology continues to evolve, the opportunity for evil (or perhaps incompetent) parties grows exponentially also.

Mr Ringo- I have profoundly enjoyed most of your work. I remember in the intro to this you talked about almost not writing it, and you consider it the conclusion. In this humble fan's opinion, PLEASE feel free to occasionally put out another one of these, another Troy Rising, another Posleen/ Eye of the Storm book. And if that would prevent the release of any more of that seemingly endless and abysmal Kildar series, so much the better. Sorry.

Great book, if you're into the whole Zombie Apocalypse thing. If you aren't, then why are you reading a review on a fourth book in a series? Obviously I am, into this, which is one reason I'm giving this book a five star rating. Other reasons: writing style, characters, plot, insight.

Into zombies,Sci Fi, what ifs you will enjoy this series. Once started you will not be able to not finish before book 4. Ringo gives enough detail to all aspects you do not get lost in details but enjoy the characters and story.
Highly recommend.

I loved the series as a whole but was disappointed in this one as the final installment. There were entire sections that I would describe as "page fillers" since they had no bearing on the main story. Some were just dropped in with new characters that had no development and after the chapter was over we never heard of it again.

On a whole though the series was one of the best zombie apocalypse stories I have read. It's one that could actually happen.

This was bringing the Wolf method to the states. Faith and Sophia are on the pointy end of ops. Then they rest higher level "by-the-book" types. It makes for an engrossing read. The military family will plow on through without loosing the American ideals.

John Ringo writes a excellent military SF story. I was disappointed that he did not find the bad guy that created the bug. Perhaps a later " detective story ". There can be no doubt that the author is a master of his trade. Like all of his

Black Tide Rising is among if not the best series I have read in half a century. Right is as good as Heinlein, and that's from a guy who read first edition Heinlein as it hit the book stores. The only negative to this book and this series was that it ended.

It's a double tap of entertainment for the zombie lover with a relentless splattering of dark humor! Gruesome, legitimately thought-out, and awesome all ground together in a post apocalyptic melee that will leave you traumatized and satisfied!

Love these books! Once I start reading it is hard to stop as I want to know what happens next. The characters are strong and the reader will soon fall in love with them as they fight to save what is left of civilization. I would start with book one in the series.

Besides some annoying errors in regards to Marine Corps language and culture (for example the fact the Drill Instructors at Parris Island are just normal Marines drawn from whatever MOS doing a secondary billet for three years not permanent trainers) book is worth reading.

Wonderful page-turner that had me, at different points: cheering, laughing, thinking, and I even got a bit misty-eyed on more than one occasion. If you are looking for a classic with Germanic sentence structures, code words, political hot button topics, and cheesy words, this is not the book for you. If you want to have a good time reading a plausible, yet fantastic, yarn, put down the cash. And saddle up.

Final book in the series, it feels unfinished. Without getting into spoilers, there are some questions which go unanswered, and the ending feels a bit forced. Even with these limitations, it was an enjoyable read.

The latest Black Tide Rising novel continued all the best aspects of the books before. Faith in a scrum, sliding down a baggage slide, guns blazing! Texas looking to vote common sense back into our government. A Vice President who rocks!! Great book!

Love the humor, the carnage, the patriotism, and Faith... Everyone has to love Faith, crazy little beast that she is. The ending was a little too convenient, but crazy exciting. Trixie took on a new form in this one, and it was hilarious!

I would recommend these 4books to anyone who reads. I have laughed and cried in equal amounts through all 4 of them. The only thing is I would like to know what happened to Steve's brother Tom. And did Brice get Her blue dress.

If you like John Ringo you would likely enjoy this book. It help if you understand the military a little. This is a military sci-fi well written fast actions Ringo one of the best in this kind of storytelling.

Entertaining, GOOD gritty military bona fides, interesting angle on zombie hordes, and coherent plot. GOOD clean fun with the teenage daughters, although all the other women seemed to be pregnant.. (Spoiler - never did find out where the virus came from)

Well written final novel to the Black Tide Rising series. Nice wrap of the story at the end. If you enjoyed the first three books, you will enjoy this one. I wouldn't mind reading a sequel in a few years updating the readers on how the characters, and the world, are doing after the zombie apocalypse.

This series prompted me to google the term 'prepper'. And during idle moments I find myself imagining what my plan would be in an apocalypse of some sort. I'm looking forward to (hopefully) finding out what's next for the Bobbsey Twins!
