Fantastic read that really helped me as I prepare for my first TEDx next month! Even as an experienced speaker, this quick and informative read helped me clarify and organize my thoughts. I know I'll be better than I would have without it. Thanks. Highly recommended for any speaker

I did learn a few important things from reading this, but the writing is lower-grade and either the quality of writing, or perhaps the content expressed, made this feel like a lot of intuitive common sense, and not anything that blew my hair back

This is a great quick start guide to public speaking. It is possible to expand each of the chapters into a book in and of itself. However, if you are looking for a quick overview, this is a great place to start.

The book is succinct and very well organized. It offers good advice, often with examples, of how a talk or lecture should be prepared and organized to deliver its message clearly and in an interesting way.

By far is the most inspirational and instructive book I have read in the topic of TED Talks. Mr. Donovan illustrates a proven blueprint & pathway for anyone committed to follow it in this 107-paged book with 14 chapters. This book for me serves me as a map to plan, prepare, and deliver my own TED Talk. I have with so much confidence that I see, feel, and believe myself already delivering a TED Talk that will go down in history of The United States Of America. This book has been praised by many including World Champion Of Public Speaking Lance Miller who highly recommend it to anyone whether they want to deliver a speech in their local communities or go to an larger audience such as TED Conference. To me this book is a household name and the standard book for those willing to share their ideas worth spreading. I highly recommend it to everyone. It is a must-have book for sure.

The author gives very thorough and perceptive advice on how to give an excellent talk...Ted Talk...or any talk. Very valuable! He discussed how you might go about analyzing the top Ted Talks to understand why they succeeded. I particularly liked listening to and evaluating the number 1 Ted Talk...after I finished this book.

If you read the content in these the store reviews, you won't need to purchase this book. Really. And then just watch the top 10 TED talks (and watch ones that aren't as popular to see the difference).

I was hoping for a lot more information and concrete examples. This book reads as if the audience is in junior high school, not the professional. The content is an overview and provides nothing more.

If anyone is interested in public speaking, this is a perfect book to read. It not only tells one how to prepare a speech but, also, how to deliver it. If you are not a "public speaker," you'll find many interesting and inspiring speeches in this book that I guarantee, you'll thoroughly enjoy.

Kind of thin on content - what did expect for $10. It's all about summarizing what others did in their talk. Maybe I'll write a book - How to Write a Book About How To Give a Ted Talk. Watch a few Ted presentations, better than reading this.

Donovan's guidlines were applied to creating a memorable / infuential CEO keynote address for our recent software company user conference.

This book explores the detailed anatomy of those TED speakers that are most popular, a study of their influence techniques on the world stage that is the TED arena.

Donovan demystifies the techniques step-by-step in a guided approach for non-TED speakers which means this type of influence can be learned, which means it can be taught to those looking to lead through inspiring others.

Great job Jeremey!

Sadly, the book provides nothing on how to deliver a TED talk.

It does provide public speaking tips (and some good ones at that). I think if they re-titled the book "How to give a great presentation" or "How to speak in front of a group" they would have an accurate title.

Nothing in the book talks about how to prepare for, apply for, and be accepted to present at TED.

While I purchased this book because I was intrigued by what it took to do a TED talk, I found this to be also be the best book I've read on public speaking. I would highly recommend to anyone that finds themselves in front of a group of people sharing ideas. Sure to be a goto reference as well as a book I will re-read several times.

When it comes to giving a talk before an audience, here's the best overall advice I've seen to date. It's an easy read, but take some notes. You'll be glad you read this book. And, so will your audience!

Donovan's book offers practical, concrete tips on how to make your next speech or presentation better. Very readable and understandable, and the summary tips at the end are a big help. Definitely worth checking out if you are a public presenter of any stripe...
