Fannie Flagg has written another big hit! I have read all of her books and always look forward to the next one. Her stories are homey and depict life and times that seem to be lost now. She has a "down home" style and tells stories about very colorful characters. I hope she continues to write in her own style...with humor and charm.

This is a nice little"good feel" book. The perfect read for a Christmas book club meeting. The characters are interesting and their backgrounds are explained in enough depth to make the story easy to follow. The author had fun with the names of the characters and adds a nice amount of humor to the story. A Redbird Christmas is an easy and upbeat Christmas tale.

Oswold was a study in contrasts. What a lovely journey he took with the support and love of the whole community. You grow to love each and every character, pull for them in adversity and cheer on their successes.
What a lovely read.

The miracle of happiness when strangers become friends runs all through a little slice of Heaven called Lost River AL. Ms. Flagg has a way with her words that immediately puts the reader into the story.

I have always enjoyed Fannie Flagg's books! And this one is no exception. Her descriptions, her characters, her story lines -- always top notch and keep you reading. She does not have to use foul language to bring the story home. She doesn't have to use adult situations to keep the reader interested! I have never read any of her books that I was not 100% thrilled with!

I absolutely loved this book. I did not know that Fannie Flagg was a writer! This story was so heart-breaking, yet uplifting at the same time. From the time I began reading it, I couldn't put it down!
I recently went to a book signing with Fannie Flagg's newest book, and she spoke about the inspirations behind her stories. The little girl, Patsy, in "A Redbird Christmas" was named after her; she was born Patricia Neal and went by "Patsy".
Loved the book. I'm now reading all of Fannie Flagg's novels.

A lovely story about a community that cares for each other and welcomes those who come looking for a new beginning. Some parts seem kind of unlikely but the reader will suspend belief for the JOY! A man at the end of his life is rejuvenated a child is heal and a "redbird" Cardinal brings a community together

Thsi is a typical Fannie Flagg story, filled with people you would love to meet and live near. Light reading for a break from the troubles of life and a world filled with doom and disaster. Ms.Flagg can always be counted on to introduce us to wonderful characters from middle America and to furnish us with a hearwarming HAPPY ENDING.

Our Book Club picked any Christmas themed book of our choice for our December meeting and, since I am a fan of Fannie Flagg, I chose A Redbird Christmas. It is a sweet, funny, poignant story with many little surprises. A fast, refreshing read.

Easy read. A perfect Fannie Flagg book! I like the way she tells stories. But maybe . . . . . never mind. She does great! For what she does. And sometimes I just want to read that simple stuff! I don't mean to sound unhappy with Fannie Flagg's books, there is a time and place in my life for one every few years.

So so good! I loved the story that unfolded throughout this book.
The friendships, the love, the beauty that unfurled herself through these images. I love that the recipes are included at the end of the book.

The people of Lost River, just over one-hundred, get going and make good things happen. Kindness and care are everywhere and Fannie Flagg’s characters are very likable. The answer to prayer and wishing hard enough doesn’t always look like what one expected but could actually be better!

This is another great work of Fannie Flagg ! I would rank this as one of her best books ,it has that southern flavor with good character development and touches the heart as all her books do!I remember watching Fannie on channel 6 in Birmingham Al. and tried to keep up with her thru the years.....although shes a character herself and i enjoyed watching her over the years ---writing is her ''stuff'' !read this book -you'll feel better! john d.

So hilarious. I fell in love with each character. Still waiting to see this in movie format. Maybe this is my screenwriting chance? Great job, Fannie Flagg. You've made me a devoted reader. And I will never forget the AA story. All reasons to make me smile.
