These were the first three books in the Jack Reacher series. If I hadn't seen the movie with the shorter version of Jack Reacher (Tom Cruise) I probably would've missed out. At any rate, lots of action...if you like action and adventure, and you haven't started the Reacher series, you'll want to start with these.

Great value in a package. These books are good from page 1 on. The first book has an introduction from the author describing how the character and book themes were developed. Very interesting and informative for perspective on the series.

I first met Jack Reacher listening to the audio version of Lee Child's "Hard Way" and immediately wanted to read or hear more of his books, based on this character. I readily ordered the Lee Child CD Collection 1, happy to learn that such collections existed. As soon as I finish one Reacher novel I'm ready for the next. This character is a likeable loner, ex-military police, a highly intelligent, licensed killer able to render one dead in seconds. Reacher always finds himself caught up in some mystery as he literally wanders the country. Books are formulaic, of course the key is writing formulaic well and different and Lee Child is a wonderful writer never losing his gift for suspense and thrills. If you like this sort of entertainment, check him out. If you spend lots of time commuting listen to Dick Hill's narration of these books, he's great.

The book was decent until the end. The final revelation of a mountain of cash that had been left there accumulating for a year was laughable. I have not even bothered to read the other novels, and may not. Much hype, not much on the delivery.

It was very interesting to see how the author developed the character of Jack Reacher through his first three books. It provided me with an enhanced appreciation for Reacher's exploits in his later novels. I was already hooked but now I have a better understanding of why.

This writer is something else! All stories were page turners, though I did find the constant ....."but wait, there's another crisis", at the end of the third book to be frustrating. This won't stop me from reading more of his books. He knows his stuff and his characters are believable.

These books are a great introduction to Lee Child's series featuring Jack Reacher. These are all stand alone novels featuring Reacher in different situations. Reacher is big, tough and very smart. He goes where he doesn't have to go in order to make some horrible bad things come out better. I have all of Lee Child's books and want more.

Easy reads and pretty entertaining. By the third book, I was getting a bit tired of the general same plot, i.e., Jack is just minding his own business, gets into an impossible situation, hooks up with a girl, saves the day and splits with the girl. It might be good to read one of these and then read something in between to break it up a bit.

Recently read Lee Child's latest Jack Reacher Novel....that prompted me to buy Books 1-3 of the series...I suggest you dont start reading late at night bcuz you cant put them down!! Child has created an "everyman" that is very compelling. Will now be forced to buy the others in the series.... :-)

Buying into all the hype about the Jack Reacher novels, I purchased the first three in the series. And, because I am a generous soul, I even forced myself to suffer through the first book (Killing Floor) in its entirety. The other two will come in handy when winter rolls back around and I'm trying to start a fire.
The book's storyline is incredibly weak (and boring as hell); the characters are about as deep as a paper cut (almost all of which had exactly the same vocabulary); the plausibility of the timeline is more than a little suspect (for example, the hero is sleeping with a member of the police department three days after his arrest for murder); and the denouement is clipped, if not forced.
In fact, I found myself wondering if Mr. Child made any attempt, whatsoever, to learn the conventions involved with writing fiction. For example, he included dialogue tags with every sentence, even when there were only two characters in the scene. If he was attempting to suspend disbelief, he failed miserably.
The only recommendation I'd make regarding Lee Child is to mail him a copy of What Not to Do When Writing a Novel.

This collection of Lee Child's stories about "Jak Reacher" on CD's is worth the cost to anyone who is a fan of Lee Child and his hero, Jack Reacher. This is a great companion to take with you on long drives.
