Please RateThe Grey Ghost: Fargo Adventures #10
I am the sort who can enjoy just about any class of adventure. Language, clean or trashy, is not going to dissuade me from a fun action-adventure. Still, coming as it does after reading several profanity-laden stories, especially Stephen King’s “The Outsider” and “Shelter In Place” by Nora Roberts, I found the ideal story to escape from the present hectic world of hateful speech and violence: “The Gray Ghost” by Clive Cussler.
Then again, I’m probably preaching to the choir. Most everyone who loves Cussler’s series featuring Sam and Remi Fargo will buy this without reading this review. Others, who desire adult language will leave negative reviews or deride my musings as if I am a paid hack.
I assure you, I pay to read Cussler’s stories and, usually, I love them. This, adventure number 10, is a fun escape from the real world.
Since I’m writing this late at night using an iPad, I will have to post my excerpt later. Trust me, though, if you love an adventure that reminds you of how treasure hunting stories were written to be read in high school or with fellow members of your prayer group, you are going to love “The Gray Ghost.”
Having stated such, just so you are prepared for a story, based on facts, however loosely and improbable, I’m rating this at four stars. As you read this story, you likely will understand why I can enjoy it despite the, uh, tendency to take poetic license now and then.
Enjoy the adventure. This is an incredibly fast read, considering it is 400 pages.
