Once again, Daniel Silva tells a marvelous story. In today's world of international intrigue, this story fits right in with what's happening in the Middle East and in Russia and the Ukraine. Although this is clearly fiction, how it relates to current events is startling.

Another Gabriel Allon thriller and though a novel, paints Russia and its leadership for what it really is. Uncanny how Silva, six years ago reflects on what is actually occurring today. Following Allon is like eating comfort food, it feels so good when the good guys get the bad guys.

Suspense is growing with the legendary Israeli spy-assassin Gabriel Allon encountering much more sophisticated and ruthless adversaries of Russian post Soviet conglomerate of former KGB and present FSB thugs.
The Confessor (Gabriel Allon Series Book 3) :: A Death in Vienna (Gabriel Allon, Bk 4) :: The Secret Servant (Gabriel Allon Series Book 7) :: Prince of Fire :: The Marching Season (Michael Osbourne Book 2)

I love all the Gabriel Allon Series. They are all good reads! So timely with the terrorism in our lives and world today. The author has great knowledge and insight into the Mid-Eastern cultures about which
so many persons are completely naive

Intricate. Very good read. Nice the way author weaves in characters from preceding books. His genre could be called: longitudinal spy thriller genre.
Would appreciate more variation in plot, however.

Another good Gabriel Allon book by Daniel Silva. It is exciting and good, but, after my sixth Allon book, it is hard to distinguish this novel from the others. They all have the same theme of a talented artist who has suffered greatly, found happiness with a woman, puts that relationship in jeopardy because of a sense of duty to Israel, has a father figure in Shamron, and saves a damsel after she is put in great danger. It is a good page turner, but I am ready to graduate to another theme.

This book gave me some background perspective. I hadn't been reading in the order they were written. So although I knew about Ivan, Elena and the twins, I didn't know the back story. Although this book was written in 2008, it is eerily reminiscent of events taking place today. The megalomaniac bully currently calling himself the President of Russia and his illicit relationship with the butcher in Syria remind us that fiction very often mimics reality.

As always I have thoroughly enjoyed another Daniel Silva book. Although his books are fiction much of what is written is true. I always take the time read Mr. Silva's description of what is true in the book and what is fictional.

I like the Gabriel Allon series, obviously after reading 8 books there is something about it that captivates me. I am a big fan of all spy series authors and I believe Daniel Silva does a more thorough and detailed examination of the human element than most. His research is unparalleled in regards to the topics/countries/characters he develops. Even so if I had a critical comment about his work in general and this book in particular it is the stereotypical way in which he polarizes the East and West as bad guys vs. good guys. The Jews, Americans and English (good guys) with their integrity and devotion to keep the world safe from the crazy lunatic greedy religious zealot Arab nations and wreckless soviets is way oversimplified, its too black and white. I am surprised that someone who is so thorough in their research makes reference to the 911 event as originating as a Middle Eastern plot as a fact. Even the slightest critical research exposes that as a false flag event that the West was complicit in, if not the outright architects. "Jet fuel does not melt steel beams". The author might consider creating a greater tension by allowing for the reader to understand how the west creates these terrorists they fight with every drone attack that wipes out villages creating orphan children who only know the west as imperialist murderers. Maybe the author might consider the real reason the west manipulates the middle east and the media- to establish central banking, and take resources of Gold, oil drugs and money. ( Only Iran and North Korea, dont' have a Rothschild controlled central bank- YET). Maybe develop how the CIA is the biggest drug runner in the world. Just some thoughts to consider- if the story was more honest and gray, less black and white, it might be a better story.

The new/old Russian ethics. Wealthy, selfish, cunning, abusive, spank your butt and slap you in the face killers. This plot is a race to the finish about weapons, nuclear and otherwise. The story is paced with well-rounded characters, although many times they float instead of walk, and they suddenly appear instead of making an appearance. Well thought out plotting, spacing, geography, cities, love, hate, defiance, deception and murder. All is good!!!

I'm the author of KISSING FREUD, DUBROVNIK and IT'S ALL MAKE BELIEVE, ISN'T IT? Marilyn Monroe Returns. Please preview my books at [...] and the store.com.

Daniel Silva weaves an exciting story and is masterful at character development. I have read the books in order and feel like I know the characters well. He keeps it suspenseful - can't second guess him.

Daniel Silva’s characters are believable while being extraordinary at the same time. All of Allon’s adventures are entertaining to say the least. This book was the reason I started the series from the beginning.

Daniel Silva has rapidly become one of my favorite authors since I discovered him a few months ago. It's not my habit to binge read a single writer but these exactly what I've done, almost dreading the fact that will be completely caught up with his works soon, anxiously awaiting the next book.

If you appreciate the work of Daniel Silva and, if you enjoy the exploits of Gabriel Allon, you'll love this one. In my opinion, Silva's best so far. Given the worldwide turmoil we view or read about daily, this one really falls into place and smacks of realism rather than just another 'good guy/bad guy' yarn.

This fast-paced intrigue may give the reader chills about what could really happen if we didn't have the strong group of Intelligencia we have behind the scenes in our government. Could powerful weapons fall into the wrong hands against our country? Read and find out what happens in this action-packed thriller.

The long awaited new novel by Dan Silva arrived at my door. I tore off the wrapping and then tore into the book. I have come to expect a certain level of sophistication and detail in his work. I was not disappointed, at all. It seems that our peerless art restorer has begun to slow down a bit with the years. That's OK because his mind and ability to think his way thru tight situations remains unchanged. Its great to read a novel with a middle aged hero, who has all the foibles and drawbacks caused by his "active" life. Has them, ignores them and keeps on keepin on. I have reached a certain comfort level with Silva and Alain, I expect certain plot twists and turns. Expecting them, appreciating them. Great read.

Great book, spies, international intrigue -- understanding of issues related to the Jewish people. Unfortunately the world is quite anti- Israel and Anti-Semitic at this time - this book reminds us about what Jews have been through and provides excellent entertainment about international issues and exciting intrigue and thrills.

Allon is a great character like Jack Reacher. Silva always delivers. The writing is excellent and some of the horrible things described in the book are actually occurring . Good plots great action. Nice work.

Have read all of the series to this point. Getting a bit formulaic but still one of my favorite authors. The historical fiction seems well researched. The references to the Vatican got me to read "the pope and Mussolini" and that is really opening my eyes. Hard to be more embarrassed since the pederasty scandals but it has been achieved.

Daniel Silva is one of my favorites -- I purchase his books as soon as they are available. This is possibly the best yet; well researched, well written, great characters. If you haven't tried Silva, read this one, if you have, you'll find Moscow Rules only adds to his reputation.
