Louis L'Amour Collection

I am beyond disappointed with this product...the books I got are in extremely poor condition. If I could, I would give less than one star. I only got six books and from the description, I was expecting more than six VERY VERY low quality books. Most defiantly not worth 20 $. I wouldn't even pay 50 cents for each of these books at a garage sale.

Louis L'Amour is always good. His short stories are interesting. Not real sure Willy Nelson was the best choice as the reader. The other readers were no better. They just did not breath much lifr into the stories.

Purchased as gift, recipient didn't like it. I can't get it back for refund. I didn't get to hear it, so 2 stars. Wish I could return for refund but as a gift I sent out, I can't get it back for refund. Bummer
Purchased due to narrators like Willie Nelson., great Country singers. Nice collector packaging. Delivered after predicted date.

I was recently introduced to Louis L'Amour books and decided that I wanted to have copies to keep so that I could read them again. I could only get paperbacks at the book store, but I prefer the leatherette versions. This book collection is prefect. They are in mint condition and I am sure they will last a long time. It makes a wonderful start for my collection.

The description said "THE LOUIS L'AMOUR COLLECTION". Consequently I expected to receive just that - the full collection. What I received was 20 volumes out of nearly 200. The description further advertised "MINT CONDITION". Some of the volumes were used by a child as a scrap book. I've been had and will be very cautious next time I order a similar item from the store and call customer service to find out what I will receive before I place an order.

I have always loved Louis L'Amour books and decided to try the audio books as well for a long car trip through Canada since I can't read and drive at the same time. They were great. Helped the time pass by quicker and the dramatization was nice. Having different voices for characters help add to the experience as well.

This is a fantastic audio experience.
I love audio books on road trips. I download them into my iPod so I don't have to fiddle with discs while I'm driving.
Even if the stories aren't that great, a reader can more than make up for it.
Not the case with Louis L'Amour, of course, so The Highwaymen were just frosting on the cake.
It's a shame they all aren't around to collaborate on some more good ol' westerns. The sound effects were a nice surprise as well.
I keep dreaming that Sam Elliot will offer up his voice for audio books....

Driving alot, I enjoy listening to the L'Amour stories of the old west while I drive. Much better than the talk shows and trying to get music I like. L'Amour is a great writer, and the stories, especially the short stories, are very well written and easy to get into while driving. Many of the tecno-thrillers are too complicated to listen to, but there are very few of his westerns that I have not enjoyed while driving. This is a nice collection of Louis L'Amour stories read by Jonny Cash and other great personalities.

Six solid short stories on this audiobook, “The Black Rock Coffin Makers,” “Dutchman’s Flat,” “The Nester and the Piute,” “Riding for the Brand,” “Trail to Pie Town,” and “Big Medicine.”

Great audio recordings have a full cast of voice actors, music, and special effects.

Four star short stories equal a four star audiobook.
