I love sports/hockey romance and I love second chance romance. Helena Hunting did a fantastic job bringing both of these romances into The Good Luck Charm! I loved that this one had the perfect mix of emotion and humor.

Lilah and Ethan dated in high school. They were in love and it was serious. That is, until Ethan left her to focus on his professional hockey career. Lilah has stayed in town and stayed close to Ethan's family. Now, it's 8 years later and he's back. The attraction is still there between them, so are the feelings. But Lilah is having a hard time trusting Ethan will be there for her when she really needs him. And it seems Ethan will never stop trying to win the one he got away back.

Ethan and Lilah were both great characters. I loved them both from the start. Lilah is a nurse with a huge heart and Ethan is a pro-hockey player who loves his parents and never truly moved past the one love of his life, Lilah. You could feel the chemistry between them. It was like that 8 years never passed. I couldn't wait to see how things would turn out.

If you're looking for a fantastic second chance romance that brings the feels, the laughs, and the steam, pick up The Good Luck Charm! I adored this book!

The Good Luck Charm is a mix of humor, steam, and sweetness. It isn't my favourite novel by Hunting, but it's a mostly satisfying read.

Second chance romance is one of my favourite tropes. I love when there's a bit of angst when the two characters cross paths for the first time, and when one party tries to earn the others trust and affections again. For me, main characters Lilah and Ethan didn't spend much time in these first stages. Ethan left her eight years ago and when he comes back, she gets with him again rather quickly. I found he didn't really have to work for her hard enough. She was a bit too much of a pushover for me and he could be selfish, so there were points where I really wasn't feeling either of them.

Then at other times they grew on me. I thought they had amazing sexual chemistry and there we plenty of passionate moments and cute gestures shared between them. There was very minimal drama, and even then it didn't really come about until close to the end. That gave the overall story a very light-hearted and easy feel! I enjoyed that about the book.

I think if you're on the hunt for something fun and flirty, The Good Luck Charm is one to keep in mind.

Helena Hunting delivered when it came to The Good Luck Charm, she could have easily written a story very similar to the Pucked series, but this is very different, still brilliant in it's own right!

Lilah and Ethan's second chance at love didn't go as I expected, it was much more authentic than over the top. I genuinely thought that Ethan was a total self righteous and self serving for a good portion of the book. I wanted to throttle him and be like look here man. Get. It. Together.

Too be fair Lilah allowed, if not encouraged Ethan's self serving attitude for quite a while, but once she finally put her foot down, she did with a vengeance and stood her ground, when she could have easily fallen back into that same holding pattern they were in.

The Good Luck Charm had some heavy emotions to deal with, namely regret and fear that were balanced perfectly with humor and hot sex to bring you a new hockey player to fall in love with. Fate brought these two back together after almost a decade apart, and I think any one of us would be scared to risk our heart at that point.

Get ready to fall in love with Ethan and Lilah in The Good Luck Charm! Things heat up on and off the ice!

The Good Luck Charm is a second chance romance featuring hunky professional NHL star and a freshly divorced nurse. Ethan has to clean up his game to avoid losing his career, Lilah is beginning a rigourous master's degree program. Neither of them can afford to have any distractions.

Ethan and Lilah were the golden couple of their youth. Their love was all consuming and their happiness was palpable. But when success changes their life plans, they go separate ways with broken hearts. When family responsibilities bring them back into the same town, Lilah holds Ethan at arm's length. Ethan knows that he lives his best life with Lilah around. Can he win back his good luck charm?

This story is charming, if not extremely tropey. Not that it's a bad thing! Fans of second chance romance and sports romance will love this little gem. Even though it's based on a trope, it does have a strong message about not losing yourself or losing sight of your personal goals when love finds you.

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.

The Good Luck Charm is nothing short of fantastic! This book had Helena Hunting written all over it and she nailed it with this second chance romance!

Ethan and Lilah have known each other almost their entire lives, and like two pieces of a puzzle, just fit together so perfectly. Everything about their love was perfect and sexy, the two of them were complete fire. But when Ethan’s love of hockey sends him to the big leagues, their relationship comes to a crashing halt. A number of unfortunate incidents bring Ethan and Lilah back together, and it’s truly tough for Lilah to move past the heartache and see what could be.

The Good Luck Charm captured my attention from the first page. Angst, love, sexiness, redemption and most of all, friendship, were just some of the emotions that poured out of this book. Ethan and Lilah were beautiful characters who showed what true love is. There is nothing better in this world than finding your soulmate <3

I had such a problem putting this book down -- at 3AM I started falling asleep while reading -- when I woke up I finished it first thing!!
This hockey scene was so real I could actually imagine being there amongst all the excitement and tension and anticipation-- I could imagine the announcers overheard -- being on the edge of your seat or on your feet cheering your team on!
Now the real story, Ethan and Lilah-- WOW! They are both great characters on their own, wonderful people, together they are explosive - they consume each other, they complete each other really -- and you feel it in their story! When Ethan says " We both know muy career is temporary and you're not. You're forever and I'm not going to put that at risk ever again" that whole conversation just proved to me what I had felt about Ethan through the whole book!!! He's so dreamy and In just COMPLETELY in LOVE with his soul mate Lilah!!!

Shel: Good Luck Charm is exactly the type of second chance romance that I love to read. The couple, Lilah and Ethan, have such a natural chemistry that you want to see them make their relationship work and yet...and yet, they have to work for it. I like that there are struggles mixed in with the sweetness--it's this mix of struggle and sweet and sexy and funny that had me glued to my couch for hours today. Even though I knew that it would end happily, I wouldn't be satisfied until I could see exactly how Hunting decided to have it end.

Shel: I really enjoyed this light and sexy-sweet romance and all the secondary plots and characters--so much so that I'd be very interested in seeing one of these characters have a spin-off novel. If you're looking for a novel that you can sink into and put down hours later with a smile on your face, Good Luck Charm should be your next read.

Another fabulous book by Helena Hunting. It's something new, but sticks to her tried and true brand of humor and angst. Also, hockey! :)

We start off meeting Lilah, whose day goes from bad to worse. From spilled coffee to a family emergency to a run-in with an old flame. Ethan, with his pretty eyes, is coming home, and this throws Lilah for a loop.

Lilah is hell-bent on staying away from Ethan. And Ethan is hell-bent on winning Lilah over again. I love the back and forth between them. Their chemistry is still off-the-charts after all these years. *fans face*

This book is a bit more on the angsty side than many of Helena Hunting's books, but she has a way of mixing in humor and steam to make it hurt not quite as bad. I enjoyed the secondary characters and really hope we'll get more from this world. Carmen needs a book!

A hockey story to end all hockey stories but with a beautiful love story entwined!
There was so much I thoroughly enjoyed about this book! It was very down to earth, it had characters that touched my heart, words that made me feel and a part that really hit home for me as well!
I loved Lilah and Ethan, high school sweethearts that had 8 years missing from then to now and this book had them going through alot but also showed how well they were together!
Can Lilah get over the past and forgive Ethan or do they both lose a worthy love! You just have to read it for yourself to learn what happens between them, their families and their jobs!
I must say though I thought Ethan was very swoonworthy, he said and did little things that will make your heart pitter patter!

I adore Helena Hunting's hockey series Pucked and am always on the lookout for the next in series. When I saw that she was going to have a separate hockey romance, I knew I wanted to read it.

The Good Luck Charm is a sweet, easy reading, second chance hockey romance. Without too much angst, the romance makes for a light read and perfect summer pick up. Per usual, Hunting delivers likable characters while introducing secondary characters we want to see again. Lilah and Ethan were a match I loved rooting for and my fingers are crossed we'll get to revisit them in someone else's story.

Sweet second chance romance! Lilah and Ethan grow up, young love together. When Ethan gets his dream of becoming a hockey player, he leaves Lilah behind to obtain his goals. Lilah eventually marries another and years later after coming off of a divorce, Ethan reappears. Things aren't always what it seems and Lilah has to decide if she wants to give Ethan the chance to break her heart again or walk away. I adore Helena Hunting writing. I mean her stories are always funny, witty, and entertaining. When I saw that The Good Luck Charm was coming out, I had to read the story. Seriously, I had a good time with Lilah and Ethan.

We have a second chance love story with The Good Luck Charm. Lilah and Ethan have a history. They were friends, then lovers, and finally they broke up. Both were hurting by Ethan's decision, but are too stubborn to fix it. Fast forward to eight years later, and they are brought together again. Now Ethan is going to do everything in his power to get them back together, after all it must be fate.

Lilah isn't sure about Ethan, and through most of the story she's guarding her heart against Ethan. He did break once, why would she want that to happen again. Ethan was dumb when he broke up with Lilah the first time, because he thought he was doing the right thing. We have him trying to win Lilah again. He has work cut in the story.

Anyway, I did enjoy The Good Luck Charm, Lilah had to overcome her fears with being hurt again. I love one the quotes in the story "Love has the potential to cause pain. It's a risk, and I think this is one worth taking." Sometimes love is a risk, but it's worth it. Anyway, I did have fun with Lilah and Ethan in this story. So, if you are a sucker for second-chance love stories, The Good Luck Charm is your read.

Ethan is piecing back together his career with one last chance back in his hometown. He left home eight years ago to pursue and focus on his hockey career, leaving behind his best friend and girlfriend, DJ (Lilah). He has struggled in several aspects of his life since then and hopes that the return home will help him put the pieces back.

Lilah has made some changes in her life and has no interest in going back to the woman she was when Ethan left town. When he returns, she fears that he wants her to be who she used to be rather than who she is, that he is using her as his good luck charm. Ethan’s superstitions are something fierce, as is typical of many sports stars.

These two had fantastic chemistry. From the beginning it just felt like they belonged together, like they couldn’t stay away. Lilah and Ethan have what I love in a good second chance romance: the history, the pull, and the spark that lingers even after so much time and distance. Even though they had been apart for so long, the spark that grew from their childhood friendship did not dim.

This was a lighthearted, fun second chance romance. I usually expect a little further down the comedy side of the rom-com scale from Helena, but this was such a great change of pace. They had a lot to deal with, pain, hurt and misunderstanding as they navigated not only what they had in the past but what they could have if they can move beyond.

The Good Luck Charm is a heartwarming second chance romance for one very hot professional hockey player and the sweet down-home girl "that got away". Ethan Kane has had great success as a pro hockey player but when an unexpected incident sends him back to his hometown he comes face to face with his old flame Lilah. Lilah has done everything she can to forget about Ethan but now that he is back she can't seem to stay away from him. When the connection between the two reignites, Ethan will do whatever it takes to keep Lilah in his life and this time he is never letting her go.

Told in multiple POV, The Good Luck Charm is a sweet romance with smoking hot passion. The connection between these two ran deep as they had grown up together. I felt the separation from their past to be a realistic snapshot of what many young lovers face. I found the journey of these two characters to be truly heartfelt. I was glad that Ethan didn't waste any time going after Lilah. And yet, I was even more pleased that Lilah was smart and wanted to ensure that she didn't quit on her own dreams in the process.

Overall, The Good Luck Charm would appeal to readers who love a second chance romance with a perfect blend of sweet and seductive. Ms. Hunting is one of my absolute go-to authors and I am always excited to read her work.

This is The Good Luck Charm written by Helena Hunting. I love all of Ms Hunting’s books and especially this one. Have you ever had that soul shattering high school romance that ended in shambles when you had to part ways? How would you feel if the said “soul shatter-er” came back and tried to rekindle the romance? Ethan left town eight years ago to continue his career as a professional hockey player. Lilah tried to carry on with her life, picking up the pieces and moving on with her college courses and job. What are the odds that Lilah can learn to trust Ethan again? And what about her relationship with his parents? There are just as many things to gain as there are to lose. Which path will they choose? You will fall in love with the characters while they traverse their bumpy road!

I never pictured myself lusting after hockey until I read a Helena Hunting novel! She creates such dreamy men that are the perfect mix of alpha male and sweet gentleman!

I love how strong Delilah was in the end! When the story starts I wasn’t sure what to expect from her! I connected with her because she seemed to be in a rough spot in life and yet she carried on! She went through life feeling like she needed acceptance and wanted to be needed without realizing how needed she already was! The heart break her and Ethan endured was brutal but in some ways necessary! I don’t think either one would’ve grown into who they are without it!

This is the sweet story of Lilah and Ethan.... childhood friends who became more then friends. Then 8 years ago when Ethan was drafted into the farm team while in college, he broke up with her over the phone and hasn’t seen her since.
Whoa!
Yep, that’s how the books starts.
Ethan is in his father’s hospital room after he has a heart attack. After her shift at the hospital, she sees a new patient’s name and it is Ethan’s father - the man who is basically a father to her.
Awkward!
But no worries, these two start dating again.

Such a wonderful book that I HIGHLY recommend!

Helena Hunting Good Luck Charm is the story of Ethan and Lilah.
Ethan and Lilah were high school sweethearts but when Ethan dream of getting a hockey career he seemed to leave her behind. Lilah stayed close to his family but never getting over the hurt of him leaving leaves her unsettled when she learns he is coming back to town. Lilah hasn't had anything to easy so she isn't easily giving up her heart or trust again to quickly but love always wins in the end.
Really enjoyed their story of a second chance at love.
Would easily recommend this book!

Great book, sports romance NHL. Ethan was just traded back to his home town where he had left his childhood gf Delilah. What I really enjoyed with this book is that Ethan and Lilah each had their own say and we are able to understand and feel each character's feeling. Though it's not part of his old "hockey" team series, I truly enjoyed this new book and I look forward to seeing them both in future books. I hope to see Delilah sisters get a book, and Ethan's brother ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Lilahs love & desire for Ethan makes it hard for to remember why she's bitter af with him. I could hardly remember why myself. Ethan is sex on a stick. The chemistry between the two was undeniable
& I couldn't get enough.

Good Luck Charm is a sweet romance focused on Lilah and Ethan, who were a high school couple but went their separate ways. Eight years have passed and their paths have crossed again...what transpires is plenty of fun, emotion, sweetness and sexiness. There is adult content. One of the better "hockey" romances I've read.

Second chance romance with a twist.
Wonderful storyline, hot and romantic.
Ethan is the best book boyfriend I've had in a long time. Hockey plays a role too. I love hockey. Hope this is the start of a series because it was fabulous

Friends growing up, teenagers to lovers, then a year separated by college. An offer and the dream to play professional hockey gives Ethan his chance, but it means leaving Delilah behind. Eight years later, Ethan returns traded in the league to play at home. His one advantage is Delilah.
A sweet talking hockey player makes it hard for the woman he loves to say no. A very intense relationship that needs balance to make it work.

Ethan and Delilah are absolutely adorable! I love the young love aspect, and the coming together again, so many years later. Helena can do no wrong in my eyes, and this is just another perfect example. If you love the Pucked series, then this story will be right up your alley.
