Hannah writes from my heart, capturing the emotional mother-daughter stuff beautifully - in spite of the inevitable pain it delivers. Fabulous story of daughters reuniting with the mother that they believed abandoned them.

This is a beautifully written story. The depth of the characters keeps ones attention and the mother daughter relationship is portrayed beautifully. I would certainly recommend the for an entertaining and touching read.

A story of many broken loves; two sisters and their mother, a woman and her first love, a daughter and her father, and two estranged brothers. I really liked reading the daughter's article as she evaluates her mother as time progresses.

This one kept me reading with enough interest to see how everything would turn out. Pretty depressing in the upstart, but as the story unfolds it does get lighter as we understand the motivation of the characters.

Amazing story pulled my heart strings and rehabilitated my heart for all time at once. The author went deep with the feelings of love, disappointment, forgiveness, faith and pride. Therapeutic in its composition.

Interesting family dynamics and life-long friendships are intertwined to create a story that was thought-provoking
and at times emotionally charged. This is a book that women more than men will enjoy.

It was an interesting premise but I was hoping for more. Maybe I just couldn't identify with Ruby enough to believe her change of heart. The story felt pieced together and didn't leave me caring one way or another about the outcome.

I really connected with the mother/ daughter relationships she developed. Kristin has an uncanny ability to understand relationships of all kinds. There was too much "I remember this...." parts because I don't feel it was very realistic. I like her style of writing.

Although I thought the story was very good, I did not think that all the swearing was necessary. I have read two other books by Kristen Hannah and have never seen this side of her. Because of subject matter I can understand using a few swear words, but I just thought it was over done.

This story takes you from ugly mistakes and hurts that can tear a family apart and brings you full circle so that the mistakes and hurts can be healed with honesty and love!! Great story. I found my self in tears several times. Poor Eric's mother should have never had children, but Nora became the Mother he needed from the beginning to the tragic end.

Was a good story about how preconceived beliefs you may have had about someone close to you may not be at all what you thought that person to really be. You must open your heart to listen and you will open the door to happiness and joy.

Not Kristin Hannah’s best work. Too many pop culture references, it became annoying. I didn’t feel a deep connection with the characters as I have with her other books I’ve read. But she has fast become one of my favorite authors.

I really like Kristin Hannah books, so when I saw this one to down load for $1.99 I jumped on it. I read it while we were on vacation and it was the perfect book for that. The story is very predictable, but still a good story.

Kristin Hannah is an expert storyteller. Once I picked up this book, I couldn't put it down. (SPOILER ALERT) My only complaint is that the ending seemed contrived, too pat. Otherwise, this was a wonderful story.

Beautifully written and heart gripping. I love the way Kristin Hannah writes and will be so lonely when I've read everything she's written. I usually end up sobbing and try to avoid reading in public!!

This book started out slow but picked up rapidly. I think I cried more while reading this than I have ever cried reading a book. The story is incredibly emotional and full of angst but uplifting and joyful at the same time. Kristin Hannah has amazing insight into peoples minds. DO NOT PASS THIS BY!

This book is a moving and touching story about love and family and hurt and healing. Commitment and friendship guide the reader through the ins and outs of family and friends relationships, and through love and loss.

Kristin Hannah tells stories like no other. They are warm, true and heartfelt. This is such a good book and captures the heart of anyone who comes from a close sister and mother past which I, fortunately, do.

Wonderful book, I have read all her books and this one is one of her top picks for me. Many bends and turns and questions solved through out the book. A Mom and her two enstranged daughters, each with her own story come together to find the real truth. Then there are the 2 brothers with stories of their own intertwined with the moms.
Loved it !!

This was a very good, enjoyable story. However, the author used GOD's name in vain repeatedly. Why? There was 't a need but the story was embedded with God's name, God's name, God's name. Remember the commandments!
