I first read these books in elementary school so it was nice to find a set. I plan to read them again then give them to my younger cousins so they can become fans too. Well, right after my mom gets finished. As soon as I showed her the set she snatched up the first book. Arrived on time, no blemishes.

Action, heroics, struggle, growth, and death—all written with a younger audience in mind. I read them 30 years ago and (spottily) remembered them fondly. Re-reading after all this time only rekindled my love for this series and the characters within. Can't recommend them highly enough.

A very good story with a medieval and realistic background. A story enjoyable to children and adults that reflects the transition from youth to adult with an entertaining story and unforgettable characters very well illustrated by Loyd Alexander. This story will keep at the edge of your seat all the time and it will always be making you come back for more.

I feel funny reviewing books that are this timeless. I read these books to my children who have now grown-up and made me a grandparent. They've read these books to their own children now, so I thought I'd reread them to see if the magic was still there. It most emphatically is. These books are magnificent classics and beautifully suited to be read to children before bedtime. I am delighted to report that these books totally engrossed me once again. If you're a new reader of the series, you are in for a treat.

One of my all-time favorite series for children and youth. This is a nice-looking paperback set. It follows Taran, an assistant pig-keeper who wants to be a hero. Full of knights, castles, magic, good and evil, a wonderful timeless story.

I am currently reading these books to my toddler and we are both loving every minute. Simply some of the best adventure stories ever written, well suited to children, but written well enough to be read by teens and adults. Highly recommended.

Teaches children, especially boys, how to be brave, noble, and humble. My 9-year-old boy loves the set. better read "The Foundling" first, which has a collection of short stories introduing the major characters in this Prydain set.
