My only problem with this is its length. There are millions of stories we'll never know about their relationship.
I a very thankful to have had an incredible loving mother. This makes me want to pass it on, no matter what stage of life I'm in.

Dr. Maya Angelou is such an inspiration!!! I truly admire her style of writing and after interviewing Dr. Angelou directly, I was that much more influenced by her mindset, the way she views life. This book is a breath of fresh air! I admire how she regardless of the challenge, she stayed true to who she is, even during evolving moments. I have been a fan of Dr. Maya Angelou since I was about 15 years old, after reading her poem, "Phenomenal Woman," this book was just as impressive as any other work completed by Dr. Angelou!!! She is a woman inspired and I salute all of her efforts. You will enjoy this book!

Absolutely Excellent. I love her writing and always wondered about her mother. She talks about her mother in all her books. It was nice to find out the relationship they had. This book was easy reading. Very relaxing. Fun to read.

what a phenomenal tribute to all mothers everywhere! who attempt to do their best in raising their children! Raising biracial children
in the days of old prejudices is Almost incomprehensible for most of us today. Congratulations go to all their families and attempts to integrate them Into the society either, despite the numerous prejudices they had to conquer!

My English is not fluent, but I somehow manage to read this wonderful book. While reading I feel as if Vivian Baxter takes care of me the way I need to be taken care of, just like my own Mother does (and she's the greatest woman I've ever met). It brings me more power and determination and takes me back to what is really important. And to the core of my being. Mom & Me & Mom came into my life via Whispernet from another part of the world and brought the sense of wholeness with it and showed that we all have so much in common. It'll be definitely one of the most important books for me.

I love Maya's writings. Her descriptions are so good. This book is absolutely wonderful. It's also a book I can pick up any time to read. I don't get lost with her characters and have to re-read parts to find out who someone is.

Just got this on kindle today. I love maya Angelou and recall how magnificent the afternoon was in Dallas several years ago, hearing her speak. I really didn't know that much about her life story. What a privilege to read it in her own words. Well worth the time to read.

Having read Maya Angelou's multi-volume autobiographies, there was not one new memory or event in this Reader's Digest type abridged version of the same stories. I didn't notice even one new topic, and the writing was hurried and less interesting than her others.

Words written from the heart. Can imagine having such inspirational support in my life to draw from. Ms Angelou wrote of the strong spirit and love she received from Mother. I could feel the same could be said that her Mother received such love and support from Ms Angelou. Beautiful. Heartwarming.

I liked this chronicle of Maya Angelou's life. It gave me insight into her personality and sources of wisdom. And I learned things about her life experience that were new to me. I recommend this to anyone who is interested in Maya Angelou and her body of work.

great book by an excellent author. Maya stories always make me want to continue reading with a smile as she pulls you into her life's adventures. She really puts you in the story and when you put the book down it feels like you lived the story. She is one of my favorites.

I appreciated Maya's candid approach to exposing who her mother was and her humanity. It teaches one to accept one's life and continue to move ahead and live a life. It teaches lesson on how to achieve success in the face of being rejected for whatever reason. Well written, fast read as it maintains your interest and gives you something to evalluate your own life with.

Just like Mrs Angelou, I grow up with my grandmother. But my mother lived just across the road. So it was like I almost reading my own story. Just loved this book. How she grow up and the relationship with her mom. It's about love, motherhood and forgiveness..

Amazing story of an American icon. Of course it was well written. It was a very hopeful book. I already knew about her life from other books she has written, but this was a whole new look at her life.

A complex relationship. Maya's Mom was ahead of her time. Not necessarily the best mother but a great guide and influence on her daughters life. Well written, easily read and surprising on several levels.

Maya Angelou always provides a good read. It reads so easily and you've finished the book all too quickly. Ms Angelou shares openly and honestly fortunate and less fortunate aspects of her life and that of her family with respect for the privacy of all involved. She's a subtle teacher as she reveals the relationship she had with her mother. I highly recommend the book. Lea

I really enjoyed reading the book. It brought back memories of My Father & Me. I had the pleasure of being loved and raised by my father after being abandon by my mother at the age of ten and I never forgiven her. So I can truly truly relate to Bailey's pain. Trust me it hurts. My father would always receive a card on mother's day. So as Mother's Day approaches yet again I will shed tears for my loss (my father) and tears for my joy (my memories of My Father & Me).

My opinion is not needed here. This is Maya Angelou. Reading her is being caressed and held close with words that flow as beautiful music. I hear her and I feel her in my heart. There simply is no better.

Dr. Angelou once again gives us a different perceptive on a person we all love & love to ignore their faults, inadequacies, their imperfections. At times I liked her mother, at times did not, but, I always respected her. I would have loved to have met her mother.
Mom & Me & Mom opens the door into this wonderful writer's relationship with her mother & gives you the opportunity to reflect on your relationship with your mom. Enjoy & Reflect!

Maya Angelou has done it AGAIN....and AGAIN!!!
As a young woman in my late twenties, I have been a fan of Maya Angelou's work ever since I began reading. This book by far has to be my favorite....depicting the special relationship between a mother and daughter in adulthood. It reminded me of my relationship with my mother...She's my rock, my protection, my inspiration and above all...my BEST FRIEND! Thank you Ms. Maya Angelou

I love everything Maya Angelou. She writes with such detail that I can visualize what's going on in the story. What a wonderful person she is to share so much of her life with readers. She has always taking readers on all her journeys in life.

I purchased this book to read along side my mother to share our thoughts as we progressed through the pages together. Maya's relationships, turbulence and triumphs had us reflecting on our own experiences with compassion, sympathy and delight. I recommend this book for anyone seeking a life story to admire and relate to.

Maya Angelou is the consummate storyteller. Her stories of her mother help us all to understand how Angelou became the great person her mother knew she would become. It is a celebration of women supporting women!
