The Magic Tree House books are a MUST READ collection for all children. Unlike many other series for young readers, the Magic Tree House should be read in chronological order to best appreciate Jack and Annie's travels through time as they go on various missions; which are typically completed in four parts. Parents and educators will enjoy going along for the ride as much as their students! My daughter is a teenager now but she still gets excited when she sees a new tree house adventure has come out.

Midnight on the Moon is the fourth and final part of the four party "Mystery of the Magic Spell" storyline. Jack and Annie have been able to locate three of the four items needed to release their friend, Morgan le Fay from the spell she is under. In a bit of a departure from the fantasy and adventurous type settings, this time the Magic Tree House transports Jack and Annie onto a moonbase in the future. Jack and Annie find themselves hiding out from a man flying about and now have to figure out a way to get back to the moonbase before their air supply runs out.

Quite different than their early adventures this one helps to teach kids about gravity. Sal Murdocha once again provides marvelous illustrations for the story as it reachs it's climax. Good but different storyline.

"This book is about Jack and Annie finding the four special things to free Morgan from her spell. The three things they found so far were the moonstone from the ninjas, the mango from the the store and the mammoth bone from the Ice Age. In this book, Jack and Annie go to the moon to find the final special thing. Jack and Annie are going to the moon!

I like this book, because it is about going to the moon in space. I like it, because Magic Tree House is fun."

- As told to me by Grant, an 11 year old boy

Did Mary Pope Osborne do any research before writing this book?

First of all, when Jack and Annie are inside the moon base, there is normal gravity. Then, when they let the air pressure out so they can go on a moon walk, the gravity gets weaker! GRAVITY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AIR PRESSURE!

Secondly, while Jack and Annie are walking around on the moon's surface, an asteroid falls down from the sky and lands in front of them, blocking their way out of a valley.

Um.

An asteroid that size would have made a huge crater. We are talking megaton explosion. Jack and Annie should have been space dust.

I know, I know, what about my willing suspension of disbelief? These are books about a magic tree house where mice understand human speech and time travel is possible. But why couldn't they visit a more realistic version of the moon? Osborne could have looked up a few simple scientific facts, couldn't she?

I hate to think of little kids growing up thinking that gravity is caused by air pressure.

This ebook helped my brother to practice writing summaries and it was so descriptive it was easy to remember so, he did great on this. I chose this review because the American dictionary was hard to get to certain letters and words, but this ebook was great! If you manage to get to the table of contents you can tap on a chapter's title and go to that actual chapter! This is my brother's review: I think the part I like about it was the research book. I liked it because it told Jack and Annie where they were and information about the place they were in. However I did NOT like that at the beginning that Jack and Annie's dad called to them to come for hot chocolate

Midnight on the Moon by Mary Pope Osbourne

This book was about a smart nine year old boy named Jack and his seven year old sister named Annie. I liked this book because it was very adventurious and fun to read. When I read this book I felt like I took an exciting trip into outerspace. Jack and Annie's goal on the moon was to find the last "M" thing from the four great series of books. To find out what happens to Jack and Annie on the moon, read this fantastic book. I give this book a 4 star rating because of its wonders and suspense. This is a book I would read again.

The only possible virtue of this book, the first and only one of the series we've encountered, is that it's perhaps light enough to encourage little ones to read for themselves. I agree completely with the reviewer who pointed out that the author seems to know little about history, science, or the English language; I'd add to that list logic. The heroine Annie is an airhead, though she's portrayed as the one who seizes the initiative; her favorite word is "Wow." Her brother Jack, though far more prudent, is forever saying "Oh, man." This is junk food, with empty mental calories. I'm sure that parents can do better and not have to settle for this dreck.

Awesome!!!!!
This is my favorite magic tree house book. It starts out where Annie found out the tree house came back. They then travel back in time with a book of ten magic rhymes to the Great Depression. They travel all over the city, looking for a unicorn by the name of Divine Flower of Rome. They see an old carousel, a statue of angel, and a statue of a dog, Balto. They go to the Cloisters, and see tapestries of the unicorn. They have to call out his name to awaken him, but it doesn't work. Then apprentices of the dark wizard call out his real name , which is Dianthus, Divine Flower of Rome in Latin. Jack and Annie try to protect the unicorn, while the apprentices, Balor and Grinda try to get him. What will happen next? Read the book to find out!!!!!

This book is excellent. If you love Unicorns, and I very much do then you will love this cute adorable book. Mary Pope Osborne has done it again with this fantastic story! You won't be disappointed. This book takes place in a blizzard and it's a excellent time to read a story like this coming into the season.

My two children think they ARE Jack and Annie. The adventures they have with these books are wonderful. They each like them for different reasons. My son loves the idea of a magical treehouse that takes you to wonderful places but gets you home for dinner safe and sound. My daughter likes how adventurous Annie is and how she can drive Jack nuts with her boldness. You just can't go wrong with these books!

In the beginning it was midnight. Annie was awake. She woke up Jack.In the middle they decided to go to the moon. Morgan wants them to go to the moon. At the end Annie and Jack went back home. They liked the adventure. I know they liked the adventure because they said,"The universe is filled with wonders.

Since this series is so popular, my eight-year-old asked to get some from the library, so we checked out a few. I picked up this one, book #8, and read through it. The writing was extremely poor. I counted the statement, "Morgan nodded," six times in three pages, even though each page has very few words. Can't the author or an editor see such a glaring flaw? And there were many more flaws, extremely contrived dialogue being the worst offender.

The story was weak, and the characters were thin and hard to like. I can't see how this series became popular. We won't be checking them out again.

Jack and Annie are two smart kids who love books. Together they are looking for the fourth M thing to free Morgan from a spell. Will they find it? What could that M be?

The book has a good story. I would recommend it to anyone.
The story was too short.

I have actually enjoyed reading this series to my kids. My third who's almost 6 is reading them with me now and loves them, but we just finished Midnight on the Moon and I am a little disturbed by the apparent lack of understanding on the part of the author and spreading that misunderstanding to her many young readers. You weigh less on the moon due to it's gravity, not that there is no air, and you would feel lighter in the moon base without the heavy suits on than you would out on the surface with the suits. Gravity stays the same wether indoors or out.
