I have got crazy over Miltary ScFi via the store , and started with Evan Currie's series but may have found new go to author. Well written , now constantly checking to see Part 2 is available. Highly recommended

Excellent story, interesting concepts, good pace. I have read four in the series and the storyline continues to develop well. I only write reviews when they are really bad or really good and in my opinion this is one of the best series I have read (and I have read many).

This book has been a great and immersive pleasure. My thanks to Richard Fox for an entirely enjoyable novel in The Ember War, book #1. He has created a more complete environment and plot than virtually all recent SciFi authors. I read on average a book a day and for the past few years the focus of my interest has been on SciFi. Hence, I know of which I speak.
The author's efforts have been much cleaner in grammar and spelling than most current authors and the few errors noted appear to be the result of an editor not fully understanding the context of the work.
I strongly believe in giving praise for good accomplishments, and the author has certainly earned the highest praise possible for fiction.
Best regards,
KC

Story was decent, but the rapidly shifting POV and the sheer number of characters was confusing. The level of detail for some situations was overdone - e.g. you don't need a paragraph to describe the size of a dining room, and why bother at all when it contributes nothing to the story? Another criticism I have is to ease up on the hyperbole - this author used it to the point of cliche.

I enjoyed the premise of this book -- after all, if there are aliens out there they will be stronger than us. The way the story unfolds is riveting and the characters enjoyable to follow. Another great series in the growing collection of space opera first contact books.

I just finished all four available ebooks in the series. I admit this review is influenced by the whole series. These are ( brace yourself!) SPACE OPERA!! I am a confessed space opera junkie. I know that you can't hot dog around in a super space fighter "lighting ''em up"... But I still love this stuff. If you like heros, dearing do, death to the enemy and have an unfettered imagination start here and read them all. I'm waiting for the fifth in the series with more space ships, "ray guns" and kickin' bad guy alien butts.

Fast paced with a manageable cast of characters. I like stories that don't bore you to tears with detail plagued pages. Just the right amount for my liking. Good story line, bought the second book and ready to start it.
