Definitely not our favorite llama llama book. To clarify, we absolutely love these books, but this one is quite below par in comparison. How do you ACTUALLY deal with a bully? You tell someone? And now your friends... The end. It's not nearly ever that simple or easy to be rid of a bully. We will have to look else where to find something more realistic.

This is an inovative way to deal with bullying. I actually bought it for an older grandson who struggles with this subject and we discussed ways for him to work his problem out. He just loves Llama Llama books and was thrilled to receive another book. Thanks so much.

My son was having issues at school with pushing. I talked to him several times and thought that we had it worked out and then got a letter from the teacher 2 days later saying that it was still happening. Because my son loves to read and seems to retain messages from books with images better than a talking to from mom, I ordered several books on hitting/bullying for him.
This was by far the one that stuck in his head the most with a very clear message on how hitting others makes them feel. He even told me that he didn't want to be a bully goat and that he would stop and think before he used his hands to hurt someone else. The pushing stopped.
Of course, this isn't going to be the rule for everyone, but this is a cute book with a clear message that really helped us out. To be fair, this book really isn't about bullying as the Bully goat has one bad day at school where he is a jerk and mean to the other kids. Bullying to me is more than a bad day that gets magically resolved by one teacher and a stern talking to, but the book still has value.

Anna Dewdney does it again! What a great read for my children. It couldn't have come at a better time with my oldest dealing with bullies in Kindergarten. As usual the story gets the point across in the usual manor. My kids have always loved her books. We will continue reading her books as long as she writes them!

My nephew has loved the Llama Llama series since they first hit the shelves and I believe he will enjoy the Bully Goat just as much as those before it. I recommend this, and all the other Llama Llama books, to anybody with a young one in their life. The rhyming helps with the flow of the story and the illustrations are spectacular, as always.
My only gripe came particularly with my copy of the book which had a few yellow stains throughout some of the middle pages. Otherwise, a wonderful purchase.

My daughter has been bullying kids in class and I was told by her teacher to get this book. I haven't read it to her yet but that's the plan tonight before bed. I like to buy books I enjoy reading to her and this will be one of them!

I purchased this llama book for my daughter for Christmas. She has all of the other llama books and LOVES them! We have been talking a lot about how to handle peers who are not being nice in preschool, so this book really reinforced our discussions. This is another amazing book from Anna Dewdney!

Such a great message in this story, another Llama Llama favorite! I purchased this for my five year old and it was wonderful to talk about it with him afterwards because he really understood the message and took a lot away from it. A great buy!!!

I love Anna Dewdney's Llama Llama series. My kids do, too. My oldest is 12 and youngest is 9, but they still love when I read Llama Llama before bedtime. The books are like the old cartoons I grew up with: moral stories to each one. This book teaches that it is not nice to bully others and how to deal with a bully, too. LOVE IT!

I purchased this book for a preschool. Though I am not a big believer in the concept of bullying in children under the age of 4, I love the language and the thought behind the message. The teacher, an adorable zebra, helps the other animal children to understand that they need to use "words" to let Bully Goat that it is not OK to be mean. She also sits with Bully during his "time-out" and then helps reintroduce him properly into the class again. This book gently and creatively speaks to saying things that are not kind and the consequences that might follow. Bully quickly learns that things work out much better for him when he acts like a "friend!"
