This book was excellent it moved well you had plenty of action it shows ups and downs, it showed a strong bond between the main characters. It's easy to want to wish Ethan and Merit to succeed to go forth to keep the house of cardigan house strong. They work together well the whole crew works together well and with them working together they can't lose.

Chloe Neill has greatly matured as a writer. Her style has become unique. This particular book is evidence. I have read all of this series and eagerly anticipate the next. She doesn't fill her books with mindless sex as most Vampire writers are doing. Not that there isn't any, but what's there is gracefully told. This is the best in the series by far.

I am NEVER disappointed with The ChicagoLand Vampire series!! There's always a story within a story, intrigue and eyeball melting sex. The characters are fleshed out more in each novel be it good or bad. Just makes me love them more. I know the series is coming to a close and while I'm extremely upset about it, I hope they'll be back from time to time!! Please!!!!

Excellent execution. This novel seemed to be a bridge to the future of the series. I did enjoy the storyline and intrigue, even if the conflict between Merit and Ethan seemed a bit contrived. We do have a nice introduction to new characters and a scintillating cliff hanger. I'm very excited to read the next novel, which incidentally, comes out of my birthday.

As with all of the Chicagoland Vampire books, the author keeps you so engrossed that it's hard to put down. Marit is one of the best heroines in the this genre and I can't wait to read the next book about her.

As always, Ms Neill has woven an amazing story with tons of action and so much romance. It was a little difficult to get into at the beginning, probably because I read the first chapter and a half that she released on her website, but once I got past that part, it was smooth sailing. Merit and Ethan are my current two favorite characters in all the very many books I have read, and I look forward to every book she releases. This one most definitely did not disappoint. Merit and Ethan had some issues to work out in this book, but they came out stronger than ever. Of course, we are left off set up for the next book, that I expect to be as exciting as any other in the series. This was well worth my time and money!!
