A beautifully illustrated novel with great characters, each displaying layers of depth and humour in their personality. Great concept of good vs evil and corrupt bodies of power. Filled with humour, action, science and shape-shifting, it's got something for everyone.

Great artist and writer Needle Stevenson charms her audience with this quirky modern day medieval drama. Dynamic characters to include a misunderstood yet classic villain and a punkish shape-shifter, make for many laughs; while also delivering thought provoking exposition about who determines the line of good and evil.
With this book, you see the brief epilogue not shown online at the Web comic's site.

Amazing artwork and an epic storytelling by Noelle clearly make it one of the best graphic novels that I've read recently. The characters are explored and developed to an extent that they are not so predictable and at the same time, make you inquisitive to solve the mystery behind them. Noelle has done an excellent job of visualizing this fictional world that is not very far-fetched from the reality. Extra points for her beautiful artistic emphasis on science! Made me very happy :)

Nimona is brilliant, evil, and smart. I love her and I loved this book. I read it in one afternoon and quickly passed it on to my 14-yr-old son who enjoyed reading it as well. I can't wait to read more Nimona.

Nicely done, definitely makes you want to learn more about the characters. Artistic style also adds to the enjoyment and just makes a good thing even better. Would recommend for YA or up, but a little bloody for extremely young readers.

I loved the comic series, but when Noelle promised that there would be a epilogue that is exclusive to the book, I expected something more than (SPOILER ALERT) two pages of Blackheart thinking to himself "Maybe Nimona is that cat over there, or maybe that woman with the red hair!! Not that I'm going to ask. I will just think this to myself. p.s. Me & Ambrosius hang out sometimes now."

I don't think it adds anything to the story, and makes the ending slightly weaker by casting Blackheart in a passive light as someone who wonders instead of acts (so much of his character arc was about him becoming more confident in confronting the things that bothered him instead of just bottling up his emotions) and while it was nice to see that Ambrosius and Blackheart are friends I think that Noelle could have taken it a step further by making their romantic relationship part of the official story, as she so many times portrayed it in the doodles she created during the creation of the book and said repeatedly that she felt it was probably true. Did the publisher refuse to print an epilogue that acknowledges homosexual relationships?

All in all, it is a fine book and the re-drawn early chapters are very lovely, but the epilogue stinks. :(

Highly recommend this. A quick read with endearing characters, the narrative choices shows the authors willingness give the audience the story and plot points they need, rather than the ones that they simply want.

I didn't really know anything about Nimona before reading. I didn't even know it was a webcomic before I saw it at the end of the book. It was such a great story, full of adventure and pathos. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic story! I was so engaged that I read the entire story of Nimona and Sir Ballister in one sitting. The Artwork is lovely as well. If you are a fan of graphic novels I encourage you to buy Nimona. If you're on the fence about buying this, I encourage you to take the plunge.

Awesome, strong, relatable female protagonist. Dragons. Sharks. Flashbacks. Men with flowing hair and missing limbs. I have been obsessed with Nimona since it was a webcomic on Noelle's website. I pre-ordered the book the minute I knew it was coming out, and was not disappointed when I received my copy!

I love books like this
The characters are fun and lovable
The drawings are really eye-catching
And the story is one of those that helps you relax and just enjoy the book
I just hope it was longer, but I can still hope for a second part ;)

After reading it online I instantly wanted it for my own collection to read over and over. The digital version is in color on devises with that capability, or black and white on the kindle. Perfect length with a well thought out plotline. It is exactly what it's trying to be, and that is amazing.

Lots of good things have already been written about this graphic novel. As an adult reader, I can add that besides being quirky, funny and thoroughly enjoyable for a variety of ages, it was also a more complex and nuanced story line than I expected at the start. Good stuff!

Shipped incredibly quickly. Also really just a fantastic comic. Beautiful look on the page. Nice heft to the book. Could probably throw it a nice distance if you wanted. Not that you'd want to, since you'll probably rather be reading it.

Smart, funny, awesome - you know, all the good stuff you want in a story. Loved the relationships between the characters and the sense of humor present even while trekking a truly touching story. Good stuff.

Great story, very much worth reading. Additionally, ********SPOILERS*********** this story contains positive, normalized lgbt+ representation. Lgbt+ characters who actually survive and have a hopeful ending! Loved it!

I absolutely ADORED this comic series. Nomina and Blackheart had such an amazing chemistry, and the subplot of Blackheart and Goldenloin was a lovely surprise. I want more backstory on all of them and more story in general. Such an amazing, thought-provoking and enjoyable series!!

I loved this comic. Fun, engaging fantasy story that embraces the classic tropes and relationships of the Heroic Knight and and "Blackheared" Villain of fairy tales and satisfyingly plonks them on their head.

Amazing story; funny, original, and well thought out. The book itself is very good quality, it's a hardcover and every page is full of color so it's amazing how cheap the book is, considering. It even has a bunch of doodles in the back that Noelle posted to tumblr. A++

Endearing characters, original story with a hint of the familiar fairytale setup, but also modern & nuanced. The art is not very sophisticated but it is well suited to the action & plot. I loved it!

I remember reading this as a webcomic a couple years ago, and I was so emotional at the ending! A beautifully crafted comic, it goes from being lighthearted and silly to handling heavier subjects, though it never loses it's charm in the slightest. Noelle Stevenson is a lovely artist and writer!
