This book is your guide to financial independence, bar none. It's wonderfully written, approachable and demystifies many of the "complexities" of financial machinery. I feel, this book should be mandatory reading for all high school and college kids- imagine if tomorrow's economy drivers were armed with the knowledge and practice of fiscal responsibility! It'd be an incredible thing.

Thanks for sharing your expertise, Jim, I truly am the richer for it.

Great book. It really cuts to the chase and simplifies long-term investment strategies. The author also does a good job justifying his arguments, looking at alternatives and presenting their good and negative points.

An inspiring Accountjng Professor at USU, who lives this stuff himself by starting out his career saving over 30% and has since saved over 60% of his income, highly recommended this book to me and I am very grateful he did. Thank you, Mr. Collins, for putting these principles together so well.

Outstanding read! "Uncle Jim" lends us years of investing experience and simplifies it into a few key and powerful principles. This book contains great advice and is a gateway for mental decluttering in our investing world.

Amazing book that take the mystery out of investing for retirement. An easy read that clearly lays out what needs to be done for your retirement with explanations that are simple and won't fill your head with useless jargon. The author's philosophy is nicely laid out and back up by resources and data if you would rather check it for yourself. Highly recommended.

Very easy read and right up there with the greats like Bogle's Little Book of Common Sense Investing, Jane Bryant Quinn's works, and the Boglehead Guides. A good book to give as a gift to a friend or family member interested in personal finance or perhaps someone who's intimidated by investing. This is definitely a book for the general public, not just the FIRE community (though it will be enjoyable to them as well).

Great, simple advice for a solid long-term path to wealth! But the book could easily been half as long due to much of the information being repeated again and again throughout. I know we learn through repetition, so maybe that was the intent?

One of the most enjoyable financial books that I've read. And the best advice that I've received. Jim is a great story teller. This is the book that I will recommend to my friends and family when they come to me for investing advice.

Thank you Jim for such a cogent piece of writing. I have tried every form of investing known to man, but have always felt the pang in my chest that I was following a lie. This book reveals a necessary truth. Great stuff

The concepts in the book are very easy to understand. It is a very quick read. I have read many financial management books and this is probably one of my favorites because the strategy that the author illustrates in the book is simple, and anyone who wants to build wealth can easily follow.

Mr. Collins puts this in a very easy to read book that makes a lot of sense. After reading this book, I immediately read it again. GET this book and start making money with your money!! Life changing information to organize your financial game plan. Very easy read, very powerful principles. JL Collins has a wonderful narrative voice and brings the common sense approach to instructing his daughter how to set herself up for Financial Independence.

This book is fantastic. It really gives you the plain and simple truth about building wealth. It doesn't both to try and sell you unrealistic magic tricks to fast wealth. It had changed my outlook on my future

I'm about two thirds through it. Very practical and easy to understand. I highly recommend reading it. Fortunately I'm in a position to save the money quickly to open a Vanguard account like he recommends.

Read this book. Then read it again. After that, go read the Internet to dig into the details, if you want. Fun writing, big-picture concepts, clear explanations and a short read make this an excellent purchase. Don't be fooled into thinking this advice is too obvious, too simple. Let it sink in and it could change the course of your life. Complexity is not required!

Nice, clearly articulated path for intelligent investing. It states some plain blunt truths about spending choices and their impacts upon on future selves. Even if you're read all the main points on Jim's blog, the book is a great reminder and reference....and if you ever start to fall off of the wagon, you can smack yourself in the face with it (as MMM would say).

Mr. Collins makes a compelling argument. Swinging for the fences is for the pros and to be honest I have found using index funds the last 10 years to be simple safe and effective and less stomach churning. I'm not there yet but I hope to be in another 10 years.

Loved the plain English direct language. I've discovered how some of my colleagues at work while brilliant in their field, stutter and fumble the concepts laid out in this book. This will be my new go to reference

This book helped to bring focus to my financial planning. It was easy to understand, had personal experiences that I could relate to, and had a nice dose of humor. I thought highly enough of it that I sent a copy to each of my adult children.

Mr. Collins has opened my eyes to how effective simple investing can be. I am using basically everything he teaches. I am begging my wife to read this book haha. Also sent a copy to a friend. This book should be required reading at some level of education. High School senior might be best.

Mr. Collin's distills investing down to simple concepts and a step by step action plan so you can start investing on your own. Stop paying high fees to advisors that rarely get a return even remotely close to low-cost index funds like Vanguard or Fidelity offer.

I love the simplicity and straightforward writing style. The book delivers on how to accumulate wealth in a simple, but long term fashion. Loved it. I'll update in 15 years to let you know if it worked.
