Left Behind Collection: Boxed Set Volumes 1-5

I am working my way through this series after having owned the first few books for some years. I have to admit, I was pretty skeptical about it and didn't think I would like them at first. However, I have found the plot to be very engaging and the books are extremely well written. Furthermore, I am actually learning about scripture just by reading them. And the interweaving of the scripture is very well done-- you learn as the characters learn. I am looking forward to finding time to finish the series :-)...I have read the first three so far.

It starts out telling about the four kids Judd, Vicki, Ryan and Lionel. I like that the book is religiouis and about the Rapture. I dislike the fact that it talks about the childrens families and the c hurch called Hope Village Church and does't talk about the disapearances and all that. I like the fact that it gives you good detail on what they do in stuff like that. I reminds me of the bible cause it talks about religion and the rapture so yeah. This is an exciting and really good book I'd say read but i'm not the boss of you so yeah.

The biggest critique I have of this series is the fantasy. Many simple events or ideas are rather absurd in reality even if you set aside the theological aspects. Other than that critique, great easy read. Recommend for all ages, especially teenagers. This is a fund story that brings mystery, suspense, and intrigue. It is an easy read where at times it is hard to put the book down. Although not to the caliber of, it reads very similar to the Harry Potter Series, or LOTR.

These books will catch your attention and not let it go, I've read the whole series three times! The first time I read it I couldn't put the books down, I read them all in three weeks! When I first read them I felt like I should start going to church, but then I recognized them as fictional books based on fictional ideas which acctually made me enjoy them more. It must be noted that the authors are hard core Christians and that, in the end, these books are propaganda but if you can ignore that and read them as adventures that truely deal with good vs. evil, trickery, survival, and the ultimate battle - you will love these books!

Being a new christian and only having read the first two books; I can't speak from experience in the scripture, but I can say that I don't want to be "LEFT BEHIND"! I can't wait to read the next book...and the next. This might be only a concept; a what MIGHT happen, but if IT is going to be anything close... I want to go first!!

The books are great! The characters are believable and clearly developed... I LOVE THEM ALL! The books are well worth reading if no other reason than a GREAT story !

I love these books it reminds of what will happen next in our world that is happening today. Reading these books really did take place in it own time.

This series is a must-read for sanctimonious, up-tight , moralististic, holier-than-thou types who are so insecure in their own beliefs that they must foist it upon others; lacking that, they need such cabalistic, inane rattletrap as "Left Behind" to smugly assure those who do not not believe as they do (or as properly as they do), what their dire fates will be. Beleive as I do, or you will be left behind; (or we will bomb your tallest buildings, you white infidels). True beleivers do not feel the need to hanrangue, berate, belittle. WWJD? Not this series. Buy another much bigger best-seller- the Bible
