"Nicolae High," by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye, is number 5 in the "Left Behind: The Kids" series of short novels for young readers. "Nicolae" continues the overarching plot of the series, which is inspired by Christian fundamentalist theology. The book follows the adventures of a group of Christian teenagers during an age of apocalyptic mystery and horror. In "Nicolae," the kids' high school is renamed (as indicated by the title) after a powerful world leader, and the faculty begins to implement a new agenda.
Like the other books in the series, "Nicolae" features corny dialogue and ridiculously melodramatic scenes. The message of "Nicolae" seems to be that religious diversity is a bad thing; for the book's heroes, the only legitimate viewpoint is a Christian fundamentalist viewpoint. Further, the book seems to foster Christian fundamentalist fantasies of persecution (the "us against the world" mentality). The idea that American public schools oppress Christian fundamentalists is a key theme here.
Actually, I found the most interesting aspect of "Nicolae" to be a couple of brief references to "Star Trek." These references are ironic, considering the vast gulf between the vision of "Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry and the authors of the "Left Behind: The Kids" series. Approach the second of these two visions with caution.

The four kids have found themselves lost in a world of disappointment. Ryan's parents die in seperate accidents and he blames God for their deaths. Lionel's uncle disappears and he is convinced that his uncle was murdered. Vicky's family is raptured, and she finds herself alone. Judd finds her and comforts her. Judd's family has also been raptured. Judd comes to the realization that he was wrong, not only about church and

God, but also in regards to his own family.

I personally thought that this book was very interesting. It made me it made me think like a detective. The twists and turns confused me until I could figure it out. I rated this book one star under the first book of the series because book two was a little depressing. However, I really liked it.

A great fiction series depicting the end times. The series really gets you thinking about how short life is. It is wonderful to see my 9 year old motivated to read. Left behind is fun to read and keeps you wanting more.

With the disappearance of millions, including their families, Judd, Vicki, Lionel, and Ryan are left to make the most important decision of their lifetime, to accept Christ and recieve a second chance.
Judd and Vicki put off the decision to think about themseleves, their lives, their families, and just take in everything that has happened in the past 24 hours. After rescuing Judd's car from O'Hare, they return to Vicki's trailor park and discover that Vicki's home was robbed and burnt to the ground, leaving the clothes on her back the only thing she owns.
Meanwhile, Ryan becomes very emotional at the thought of his parents death, and that they aren't in heaven. Lionel chases after him and the two discover that Lionel's house has been taken by his uncle, Andre.
So, what will the four kids decide? Read this book to find out and learn more about the end times.

As a continuation of the ongoing saga of the kids Left Behind, this package rules. Following the Young Tribulation Saints leaves you wanting more. When readers realize that this is a prophesy that will come true, they'll need more. I highly recommend this entire series, not just for kids, but for people that need an easy read and want to know just what God has in store for mankind.

LEFT BEHIND Second Chance By Jerry B. Jenkins This book is GREAT if you're a Christian for a belief. I loved this book because it has an excellent use of language and has you sitting on the edge of your seat for the next exciting chapter to begin. This book is realistic fiction. The characters are Jud, Vicky, Ryan and Lionel. You will be upset at some times but it will clear up. I enjoyed this book so much. I hope you do to!

This book seires has been the first seires I have kept on reading for days. I like this book because it has alot of suspence and lots of mystery's for the kid's to find. In the #3 book I liked it when Ryne went to get over his fears so he could stay at Judd's house. This book should be one of the Gold stars book's because it has been writen by one of the best writers wich is Jerry B. Jenkins.

When I started this series, I Thought "Any Other Series". I Had Aleady Read The First Book, But I Read It Again. I Loved It, So I Went To The Public Library And Got This Book, NUMBER 2, And I Could Not Drop It! This Book Is Action Packed AND FULL OF Knowledge For Everyone. This Series Is Not Appropriate For Kids Under 9 Though.

This is a book with great meaning, but honestly I think that it is not the best in the series. I really enjoy the series, but the first books are not the best. I encourage you to buy the 32 books in this series-and buy this one at a low price. I would like to tell you a little of what this book is about, so you will get an idea.
Four kids have been left behind. They are all alone, and wonder what to do. But will they accept God's second chance for them?
