Riding Red (Fairytale Shifter Book 1)

I truly loved, riding red! Dom and ruby are fantastic and I absolutely love Gwen ! The cookies she made had me laughing so hard. And ruby trying to keep a straight face and trying not to laugh at the broomsticks ( that look like cocks) then Xavier and the cookies too that was priceless! I can't wait for their book! I love their story! Then you get an extra book the coach! The breeding series ! Which I absolutely love too! I love anything by Alexa !!

One of my favorite erotica and smut authors is Alexa Riley, and I was intrigued when I saw that the duo had written a Fairytale shifter based on the theme of Little Red Riding Hood as renditions/variants is another thing that I am a sucker for. In Riding Red, we meet Ruby who is the newest owner of a small bakery in Gray Ridge, Colorado. Her store is called Red's Goodie Basket and this Halloween she is hoping for a bit more touristy business as things have been slow to take off. That's all thanks to the Sheriff Dominic Wolfe who is finding all excuses to scare the customers. Turns out though that it's not to drive her out of town as she believes but for the fact that he wants her. She is his soulmate, and he has been biding his time for the marking ceremony where he can finally claim Ruby. The thing is though that Ruby has no idea that the town she has decided to settle into and start a new business in is filled with wolf shifters. Will her reaction be the one Dominic is expecting or will this be the end of his goal at getting what he wants - Ruby. Riding Red was a quick erotic read filled with sizzling chemistry, wolves marking their territories and yummy genitalia-shaped sweets.

After searching for the perfect place to start her life as a bakery owner, Ruby finds the perfect bakery in the small town of Gray Ridge, Colorado. The previous owner had passed away and the family is unable to continue the runnings of the bakery. The bakery is perfect and also has an apartment/office above it which makes it that much more perfect for Ruby. Sheriff Wolfe (AKA Dominic) stalks out shortly after Ruby walks in and lets the people who are dealing with the paperwork that it's hers. Ruby settles in and hires Gwen (who seems to be the only person to befriend her the entire time she has been there). Ruby eventually starts to feel funny around Dominic, and the closer Halloween comes, the more "weird" things start to happen. I don't want to give any more spoilers to the story so READ "Riding Red" to find out what happens at Rubys Gooddies Basket and on the eve of Halloween!

I absolutely loved this story!!! Alexa does an excellent job at turning one of our beloved fairytales into a funny, cute, sweet, and steamy love story. Ruby and Dominic are characters that I was not able to stop reading about and fell in love with. I really wanted MORE once I finished the book and hope that Alexa will take this new shifter idea and make a series!

I would definitely recommend this book if you love something short, sexy, paranormal, and honestly at times I found myself smiling and giggling. You will not be disappointed (and truly I am never disappointed in an Alexa Riley read).

Alexa Riley writes a great romance fairytale. This is a community of shifters. There is integration of species and will peak your desire to know more. It's a four book series so start at Riding Red and read to your heart's content! You won't regret the time spent. Each book is a quick satisfying read.

Hot read as always. A really different twist on fairy tales. This seems to be kinda popular now. This isn't as cheesy as her other sexy reads. I mean its really different and I did think Dom was a bit unfair to Ruby with telling the town not to visit her store. Total selfish reasons too, but she forgives him. Ruby was really sweet and I cant wait to read the other 2 stories.

Coach was included and I actually read some reviews on the individual stand alone on the store...some didnt like the book and thought it was too taboo or weird. I mean i guess if you've read books like it..doesnt really bother you. If your not used to it I can see where it would be surprising. Well..this was completely tame compared to some I've read. I didnt really find it creepy. Not like she called him Coach while in the throes of passion lol. He was a bit intense though I will admit but it was not creepy to me. Kinda sweet in a way. I enjoyed the bonus book.

Alexa you seriously blew my mind with this one. Don't get me wrong I love all your books,but this one is just so new and fresh. Loved they play on little red riding hood. Ruby and Dominica are sexy together. Every minute of this book left me with wanting more. I need more Alexa. I need Gwen's story and more. Love that you expanded your writhing to paranormal. I wonder what's coming next <3

It was a quick, sexy read. Paranormal was always my go to for something to read until I OD'd on it. It was nice to read one after taking a break from them. The story of alpha male Dominic and the red head beauty Ruby was hot. I would have liked a little more of the story, maybe when they first met. I'm anxious to see if there is a another book with Gwen and Xavier.

I am NOT someone who is into paranormal romance but when I received a notice that Alexis was going to be writing this book I'll pay for the holiday I couldn't pass it by. Because of that I reat my 3 paranormal romance and I loved it.

It was super sexy, very smart, I know is unrealistic because it's a short and it was fantasy and if filled my book depression needs

Love this story about Red Riding Hood and her Big Bad Wolf shifter.   A simple story with characters that are easy to love.  Now I cant wait to read more of this series with hopes that everyone finds their mate.

Insta-love, strong dominate shifter, a women who can hold her own, and a HEA. What more could I want in a book. Oh, and NO cliffhanger! This book just sucked me in and I could not put it down. Which is saying a lot for me lately. This is one of those books that I will star to read again when I have a free afternoon and want to put a smile on my face.

If you like fairy tale, Red Riding Hood mixed with paranormal- wolf shifter to be more specific, you'll love this. Even if it's your first stunt with an animal shifter like it was for me, you'll still find it interesting. It was an extraordinary short story, though I was wondering about Gwen and Xavier. Maybe they'll have their short story.

Alexa, you did it again! This is my first shifter book and honey, you got me. My goodness this book was hot! I loved Dominic and Ruby and when they finally came together, let's just say you need a change of undies!! Hot and spicy and a little emotional at times. I loved it and I hope Gwen and Xavier are next. You are my go to girl!

Just like every Alexa Riley story, it's extremely hot. I haven't read about a virgin werewolf since a Lucy Monroe story years ago, but it was great! He can only mate his Fated Mate, who buys his great-aunt Claire's bakery. I hope that Alexa writes Xavier and Gwen's story...and I wouldn't say no to the alpha's story.

The story was great and the sex scenes are yummy. Where can I get me a shifter??? This is a story about Dominic. He is the sheriff of a small town called Gray Ridge in Colorado. His family owns the local bakery shop. So when Ruby moves to town to buy it then that's when the fun starts. She goes to meet Dominic and his 3 lawyers at the bakery. When she opens the door he sees her and smells her and tells the lawyers that she can have it and leaves. You see Ruby is a human and Dominic is a wolf shifter. He starts feeling the mating heat, but trays to stay away from Ruby because as a human she won't understand or feel that heat.

Whew...seriously, for what this story is supposed to be it's great. This was meant to be a short, hot erotic version of Little Red Riding Hood put out just in time for Halloween. I don't think it should be rated less because it's super short and hot.
I don't do paranormal, and while this is a "shifter" story, it's really only one or two instances, so it didn't bother me. It's erotic in the sense that there's a big buildup, right up until the end. The ONLY thing that disappointed me was what I refer to as THE VIRGIN ANNIHILATION. I don't care for women in their mid to late twenties that are still holding onto their v-card.
So overall, I'll give this sexy little story time for adults a 4.5 star rating.

I really liked this shifter story. I sometimes read a lot of dark books and need a nice story like this to lighten things up. I would've liked it to be longer because it really pulled me in. I'm hoping this is a series because I liked the characters and how their stories were set up.

I really liked the story, but it was too short!!! I would've liked to read more about their story and what happened after they got together. How they got on together in their living situation, etc. And will Gwen find her mate since we know he keeps to himself in the woods.

Miss Riley has written an incredibly funny (and much more exiting) version of Little Red Riding Hood.

It is a short story but the world and the characters in it is so well described, that my only problem is that I would have loved to read it as a full length novel.

I love shifter books and Alexa Riley doesn't disappoint with this new series. Her heroes are always so possessive and protective and let's not forget oh so sexy. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Hello guilty pleasure!! There was another book inside the back of this book and although full of steamy sex I personally chose not to finish it. The Red riding hood story was wonderful. I enjoyed it all.

Another winner from a superb author! Quick dirty read that had an amazing plot. I love the new twist added to the werewolf legend. We learned enough about secondary characters to be chomping at the bit for their story!

Ruby and Dominic are totally hot together in this fun wolf shifter romance. Both are virgins and instantly crazy for each other. Can't wait to read Gwen and Xavier's story next and more from their small town.

I loved this fairy tales when younger but with Alexa's style it's even better now. An added bonus their both virgins!! Your in for a fantastic , hot ride when the mating moon arrives! As always an amazing erotic read.

Enjoyable twist to the old fairy tale. My only complaint is you wait the whole story for them to get together and even though there is a short epilogue just ends. I wanted to read a bit more of their story together.

This book was a smutty good read-my favorite- that was a sexy play on Little Red Riding hood! The big bad wolf in this version of the classic play was a alpha to the bone that wants, and will do anything to get, his mate- little red riding hood! A sexy read for the Halloween season! I loved it!

Ive always been a fan of paranormal romances and I certainly enjoyed this one. I didn't know what to expect since many of this authors pieces are....steamy with a side of taboo. Im looking forward to reading other books related to this series
