His Alone: A Full-Length Novel (For Her)

This books was well worth the wait. Wasn't expecting Ryan to be all that he was and I was expecting him to be a lot. The love from the characters was sweet but deep. As always would recommend to anyone that wanted a sweet steamy romance novel can't wait for Alexa riley next book!

I was waiting with baited breath for His Alone and it did not disappoint. There was just something about that good guy with tattoos Captain! New book boyfriend material for sure! Can't wait to read whatever comes next from Alexa.

Paige’s brother Miles owns a security company and both Paige and Ryan work there. Ryan has been in love with Paige for years and Paige has been lusting after Ryan however neither discloses their feelings and to complicate matters he is her boss. Ryan has now decided that enough time is passed and he is going to make her his however Paige feels that she isn’t good enough for him. They each have secrets however will Ryan’s secret destroy everything they have built? Ryan is a possessive, protective alpha that will make you melt and the chemistry between the two is hot! ~ Short & Sweet Mini Review ~

I know I’m in the minority here, but His Alone just didn’t work for me. It wasn’t the characters themselves, in fact I found Captain to be a fascinatingly strange mix of uber obsessive alpha male with the extremely patience of a saint and sweet on top of it all. Paige was alright, my heart hurt for her and what she went through as a child and understood her need for vengeance, but her ‘poor me’ tendencies got old fast. What killed this book for me was the slow as molasses pacing that had me putting this book aside more than any other I’ve read recently. Much of it had to do with all the inner monologuing going on, I honestly could have done without half of it, and even when things appeared to start picking up, it would be short lived. The smexy was SMEXY, but it wasn’t enough to hold my interest for all that long after. With so many bookworms out there who absolutely adore Alexa Riley I was really looking forward to diving into this book, but it just didn’t live up to the hype for me, so I’m chalking it up to being an “It’s not you, it’s me” situation and calling it a day.

Alexa Riley brings us their second full length novel of obsession and revenge, but this time we witness first hand the lengths someone will go to seek said revenge, as well as the risks someone will take to protect the person they love.

This story, just like it's predecessor gives us a strong herione and an over-the-top obsessed alpha... Or in the words of Mal and Paige-borderline stalker.

Ryan, just like Miles, has loved Paige since the first time he saw her. He has secrets, he's nothing like the man she thinks he is. Paige also has secrets-secrets she doesn't want Ryan to know. She doesn't want her dirty to touch him, he's her Captain America after all. He's too clean. Too good. Or so she thinks.

His Alone was a funny, cat and mouse game filled with hot-not so vanilla latte-moments. Let's just say together, Captain and Paige are two dirty birds. I enjoyed this book, it intrigued me with the feel of mystery, thrilled me at times, but it was the family aspect that stole me completely!!

With an absolutely obsessed alpha male and a quirky and innocent virgin, His Alone tickled a lot of the Alexa Riley© OTT romance’s spots. Though I have to be honest here and say that this probably wasn’t my favorite of the bunch.
We’d met Paige and Ryan both in Everything for Her, and the undercurrents between them had peaked our interest… I mean how wouldn’t it when he looks like Captain America with tattoos and Paige has more attitude than a she-wolf PMSing?

We’ll learn that not everything is at it seems, and though Ryan seems perfect on paper to Paige, he has lots of secrets he’s been keeping from her, starting with his total obsession for her.

My main issues with this story were some of the same with Everything for Her: the chapters where we got to experience Ryan’s point of view were a lot less than what we got of Paige, and the time we spent in Paige’s head was, again, quite repetitive. Most importantly, though, is the fact that Ryan doesn’t let his OTT alpha out until almost half of the book. 44% actually, I know, because I made a note that said:  "Finally!! OTT Ryan is in the house! I was starting to wonder…" this obviously means there’s almost no steamy shenanigans going on up until this point.

While Ryan was sexy, brooding, and bossy, it wasn’t until he grabbed his AR alpha card (which he almost lost in my eyes) that things got interesting and I fully engaged with the story. When he was done being careful and went all in to get Paige, I found myself all in too.

I loved Paige in the previous book and I was really happy to get to read her story. While I still loved her humor, quirkiness, and lack of filter, her insecurities and issues (which were never really dealt with appropriately) eventually started to bug me.

Although the whole story still left me smiling like a lunatic and I laughed my ass off for most of it, I was underwhelmed with the resolution of their father’s story line. This part felt both underdeveloped and rushed, and I’m not sure it enriched the story all that much. Maybe if it had been fleshed a little bit more it could have worked.

As it is, His Alone is a sweet, sexy and hot romance with an OTT love story and the bestest epilogue I’ve read in a while. And though I can’t say this is my favorite in the Alexa Riley library, she’s still one of my auto-buy authors for sweet and smutty romance.

Alexa Riley is an absolute hands down... fantastic storyteller and one of my top five favorite authors of all time. These ladies are absolutely brilliant... with their innocent heroines, over the top alpha males, and insta-everything in the most delicious ways.

Book one in this series was so good.... sexy, intense, twisted and thrilling... basically everything you expect from them but in a full length version. His Alone is the second standalone installment in this series... giving "Captain" and Paige's story.

Packed with heart, heat and passion, we finally get the down and dirty on these two. We watched this relationship brew and come to a simmering point... and now it's time for them to get real and for Captain to finally claim his girl.

Paige is strong yet vulnerable... and a mess of contradictions but even she can't deny what she feels for him. Ryan, also known as Captain, is totally alpha but has a tainted past. Watching these two come together and the fireworks that ensued each time.... crazy hot!

Undeniable chemistry. Fun and engaging banter. A few twists to keep you on your toes. Get ready for the PERFECT romance that will give you all the feels.

I highly recommend this book.

This is Paige and Ryan's story. Paige is trying to out run her past but it keeps coming back for her. She was out for revenge but Ryan changed her course. He dug himself into her heart. Ryan knows he is not a good man but he is trying to be good to get what he wants which is Paige. But they both have secrets. Not little secrets big ones that once they come out could ruin everything. When the secrets come out and her father is exposed Ryan will need to pick up the pieces. Can Ryan prove he can fix everything for her and love her forever?

I recommend this book and anything by this author.

If you have read Everything for Her by these same authors then you will get a inkling of what to expect from this book. To be honest it is very much a mirror image story to that of Miles and Mallory but with different back stories. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing as I have read quite a few books from Alexa Riley and know what to expect so I had no other expectations in my head when I began reading this story.

I was really curious to learn more about Captain (Ryan) as there was already this simmering 'thing' going on between him and Paige, the kind that you just know is going to turn into something more. Previously, Ryan had worked for Miles and Paige's father, Alexander but there was a reason for that which is explained as the story goes on.

'His Alone' sums up what Ryan feels for Paige. He wants her, all of her and he always gets what he wants. Paige however, is not quite on the same page of Ryan's book. She has a plan, to avenge her mother's death and nothing will get in her way of finally putting that piece of her past to rest.

When Ryan starts to ramp up his interest in her, Paige is initially cautious but he is just so damn hard to resist that she finds herself caving to this gorgeous man. Soon these two are heating things up between the sheets and Paige gives up not just her virginity but her heart also. This is everything to Ryan, he has waited so long for this with Paige. She may be caught up in the newness of this wonderful time she is having with Ryan but in the back of her mind she knows that she has to finish what she started. At it may mean that she loses him forever.

Paige underestimates the depth of Ryan's love and loyalty, he wants to protect her from any further pain in her life and he is about to prove it. In fact this book should have been called Everything for Her and the first one called His Alone. Kinda makes more sense really?

If you are a fan of Alexa Riley you will definitely enjoy this!

With both of them keeping secrets from one another, it’s inevitable they get revealed causing lots of relationship angst. But for better or worse, Ryan still wants to see things to the bitter end to protect his lady love and help her find peace, even when she stubbornly claims she needs to handle things all on her own.

Though this book had several elements I love in a romantic read, I must admit the writing at times came across monotonic. Very little happened up until almost 70%, as well, so it felt overly drawn out. After being intimate around halfway through, the main couple’s graphic, lusty, smexy scenes took center stage until a very brief, but final showdown with the enemy.

My suggestion is this book might be for you if you’re looking for a good guy/alpha possessive to the point of stalkerish male who has been biding his time then makes up for it in lots of smexy scenes. But even then he holds back and tries to wait until he knows the heroine’s head and heart are in the right place so she will truly fall in love with him. For this NetGalley reviewer, the story line definitely fit the bill, but the writing itself at times fell short of my expectations. Rating: 3.5 stars

I was one big ball of mushy, hormone-laden emotion at the end of this story. With cries of, “I want my own Captain!” If you thought Oz had a penchant for stalkerish tendencies, let me tell you, Ryan is in a whole other stratosphere *snorts*

Paige carries a heavy burden, and, as a result, is determined to seek vengeance to right the wrongs from her past. But will her actions set her free or just weigh her down more? I adored watching her bloom as she realises what it feels like to finally feel loved, not just from Ryan but from Mal, Oz et al.

Prepare for your chin to hit the floor as Ryan’s history is revealed and you realise the full extent to which he will go to secure a future for both him and Paige. Just imagine all of that single-minded focus aimed right at you. Le sigh… it’s the stuff that Tall, Tatted, Alpha-male dreams are made of!

“This isn’t the end, Paige…. This is how our story begins.”

I freely admit I was like, “Oz who?” after finishing this book. Ryan Justice just blew him out of the water for me. What can I say? I like my BBFs with a bit of a naughty side *whistles* Now, don’t go reading anything into that statement – I am an angel *snorts*

“I love you more than my own life. I would set fire to the world to make you smile.”

This was everything I could hope for in an Alexa Riley read. I can’t wait to read more of their full length works in the future *taps fingers* Anyone know how long that will be? Impatient, moi lol?

His Alone is another one of Alexa Riley's work of art. His Alone is a spin off from Everything for her, that is where we got to see Paige and Captain (Ryan). Captain saw a photo of Paige years ago and knew he had to have her, so he put into place a plan that would make that happen. Paige is Miles sister and she was hired to watch over Mallory (Miles went caveman over her too). For that story you will need to go and get that book ( I recommend it). But back to His Alone... Captain is still Paige's boss and he wants more but he doesn't want her to know about the way he went about making it happen. This is another love story where the man goes bat sh** crazy when he first lays eyes on the girl. Which is a typical AR story. Of course those 2 know how to spin it and make it a great read. I love everything they write, the stories they pen are great. We always get instant love stories and its always a great story. His alone is finally a full length book, which is not what we usually get from them, and I'm happy we finally get another one. I love that they give multiple epilogues and they make sure to give all of the updates we want. Of course what would an Alexa Riley book be without some steamy sex and they defiantly deliver on that as well as a very happy love story with very happy ending. I will never get enough of Alexa Riley's books, I will always stop and one click on anything they publish and I'm always sad when one of their books end. I start looking for more from them and counting down until I can get my hands on another.
I highly recommend His Alone, I do suggest you read Everything for Her (its not really necessary) but I do recommend it, it does give you a little back story on both Paige and Captain (aka Ryan). Happy reading and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

After reading the synopsis for this one I thought I had a good idea of what to expect, but by about the third chapter my initial thoughts were completely shattered... this story was seriously something else! Ryan's obsession with Paige was a little unsettling at times, but with that being said I like my heroes to be alpha to the bone, and I have to say Ryan is about as alpha as they come! He was possessive when the moment called for it, commanding when he needed to be, and had a softer side reserved only for Paige that was touching to witness. This is my first read from Ms. Riley and I have to say she made quite the first impression, her seductive little love story took me by surprise, in the best possible way, and turned me into a fan! Highly recommend you pick this one up, it will take you on one hell of a literary ride... and leave you with a permanent blush!!

Amazing story and definitely my favorite of the series. Besides the wonderful AR characters, the thing that really won me were the dialogues and all the feelings that were bursting through them.

When I read that this story is going to be about Paige and Ryan (aka "Captain America") couldn't wait to read the story of these two strong head, bold characters and as expected they created fireworks with their sparkly chemistry. Ryan is the possessive caveman you wish secretly to have is the Alpha who speaks and you melt..

“We’re going to tell our grandchildren one day about how we fell in love, and I want our whole story to be exactly what you deserve.”

See what I'm saying lots of panties are going to be wrenched by Captain that's for sure... On the other hand, Paige is a strong heroine, independent who secretly wants all the flowers and the hearts with him but her painful past and her mission keeping her grounded trying to focus on her plan and not on the "temptation" Captain but oh boy how much I loved when failed miserably upon his good looks.

The second book of the series, in my opinion, was a little bit dark which I loved and by dark, I mean the suspense of revealing secrets and Paige's moves about her father... when is the worst thing going to happen??

You really can't go wrong with AR stories long or short length novels the "ingredients" won't disappoint you, steamy hot scenes, enjoyable dialogues, destined soulmates and super sweet epilogs... what's more to ask???? So I'm looking forward to reading the next story AR will create!!

My favorite guilty pleasure writing duo is back with their second full length novel and it is even better than book one! As is always the case with a decadent Alexa Riley work, we are treated to an over the top, alluring, take charge, obsessed alpha and the endearing woman he must have at all costs. His Alone revisits Ryan (Captain) and Paige who we met in book one. I loved Captain and could not wait for his story so I will admit to being a tab over eager going into this book.
Ryan is the head of security of Miles' company. Paige is Mallory's best friend and Miles' half sister. She works under Captain and though she begins to develop feelings for him, she is hesitant to get involved because of her past. To her Ryan is too pure and she is entirely too dirty for a wonderful man like him. Ryan, meanwhile is keeping secrets of his own. He is not as purse and wonderful as Paige believes and is determined to make Paige his.
I loved this book. I'm completely biased, because I have yet to find an Alexa Riley book I have not loved, but discounting that, I adored both Captain and Paige. In fact, I loved Paige so much more than I was expecting (I was pretty convinced I would love Captain going in, so no shock on that front). There was just enough back story and angst because of those back stories to keep me 110% invested in their story. They were perfect for each other and Captain was so sweet (granted in an over the top, mildly stalker way) that I ate up each and everything he did for Paige. These full length novels give us so much more of what we already love from this duo. I will anxiously be awaiting book three.

After reading the synopsis for this one I thought I had a good idea of what to expect, but by about the third chapter my initial thoughts were completely shattered... this story was seriously something else! Ryan's obsession with Paige was a little unsettling at times, but with that being said I like my heroes to be alpha to the bone, and I have to say Ryan is about as alpha as they come! He was possessive when the moment called for it, commanding when he needed to be, and had a softer side reserved only for Paige that was touching to witness. This is my first read from Ms. Riley and I have to say she made quite the first impression, her seductive little love story took me by surprise, in the best possible way, and turned me into a fan! Highly recommend you pick this one up, it will take you on one hell of a literary ride... and leave you with a permanent blush!!

Amazing story and definitely my favorite of the series. Besides the wonderful AR characters, the thing that really won me were the dialogues and all the feelings that were bursting through them.

When I read that this story is going to be about Paige and Ryan (aka "Captain America") couldn't wait to read the story of these two strong head, bold characters and as expected they created fireworks with their sparkly chemistry. Ryan is the possessive caveman you wish secretly to have is the Alpha who speaks and you melt..

“We’re going to tell our grandchildren one day about how we fell in love, and I want our whole story to be exactly what you deserve.”

See what I'm saying lots of panties are going to be wrenched by Captain that's for sure... On the other hand, Paige is a strong heroine, independent who secretly wants all the flowers and the hearts with him but her painful past and her mission keeping her grounded trying to focus on her plan and not on the "temptation" Captain but oh boy how much I loved when failed miserably upon his good looks.

The second book of the series, in my opinion, was a little bit dark which I loved and by dark, I mean the suspense of revealing secrets and Paige's moves about her father... when is the worst thing going to happen??

You really can't go wrong with AR stories long or short length novels the "ingredients" won't disappoint you, steamy hot scenes, enjoyable dialogues, destined soulmates and super sweet epilogs... what's more to ask???? So I'm looking forward to reading the next story AR will create!!

His Alone is the second full-length installment in Alexa Riley’s “For Her” series. Once again, this book was a sinfully delightful read, with good story development, some suspenseful elements and a hot alpha hero, “reasonably” obsessed with his love interest, Paige, Miles Osborne’s half-sister. Ryan Justice is a flawed, possessive, over-the-top hero, and yet he is very controlled and doesn’t go into stalker mode, at least not openly because his photo wallpapers were creepy!

He is a typical Alexa Riley’s alpha hero, and I loved that the authors took the time to develop his relationship with Paige. Paige is a strong, bold and independent heroine. She is nostalgic, though, seeing Mallory and Miles together is bittersweet. Mallory has been her only family for years and it’s hard for Paige to let her go. Her relationship with her brother revolved around their revenge plan, but Miles has done his part, stripping their father of his businesses. Paige is not done yet with her revenge scheme, she still owes her mother justice.

There were interesting twists in this story, and some dark elements, although it’s not the main focus of the story. The time has come for Ryan to come clean and express his true feelings for Paige. He has been taking things slow, but the time has come for them to leave their ghosts behind and move on. Ryan is a protector and Paige definitely needs a man like him.

This sexy and twisty story was totally addictive and compulsively readable. I couldn’t put it down! And I loved the wonderful, totally satisfying extended epilogues. 4.5 stars

Ryan and Paige were a couple whose story I anticipated it seems like forever. When two characters nearly steal the spotlight from another couples story you know they are special. The obsessed hero is Alexa Riley's trademark. Ryan or Captain has truly won the award of perfect stalker hero. It's not a bad thing when you are given a hero who would do anything for the love of the women he can't live without. This guy mesmerized me every time he touches or talked to Paige. His love was fierce and all consuming.

I anxiously await more from this dynamic writing team. They simply get what this romantic reader wants and they deliver every time.

I feel like Alexa Riley has created - and mastered - a romance niche, where an uber-possesive, alpha-male meets and falls instantly in love with an innocent heroine. They have a lot of sex, and he often really wants to make babies before they grab their happily ever after. If this does't sound like your cup of tea, you might not love Ms. Riley or His Alone, but I find her books to be well-written, sexy and a decadent form of escapism.

Ryan Justice has been in love with Paige Turner for years, but she doesn’t know it. Actually, she doesn’t know a lot about Ryan, because he has quite a few secrets. They both work private security for her wealthy half-brother, and he’s her boss. Sound confusing? His Alone’s plot is hard to describe in detail without revealing too much, so just go with the flow….

Paige and Ryan share a fierce attraction, and he’s ready to move out of the friend/boss zone. When they do, all of Ryan’s caveman tendencies come out to play, and they are full steam ahead as a couple. Of course, nothing is ever easy. Both have doubts, both have secrets, and Paige has a jerk of a father who could cause big problems.

His Alone is not about reality. It is fantasy romance that is delightfully entertaining and wonderfully romantic.

This book is Alex's Riley's second full length novel and it is a slight continuation of the previous novel, Everything for Her. The main characters from Everything for Her, Miles Osbourne (aka Oz) and Mallory Sullivan, are a strong presence in this book, but it's no longer their love story. Oh, no, this story belongs to Paige Turner, Oz's half-sister and Mallory's best friend, and Ryan Justice, Oz's head of security and Paige's boss.
The story opens with Ryan being employed by Alexander Owens, Miles and Paige's father, to gather any intel on Miles. Miles is already estranged from his father and Ryan knows it probably has to do with the suspension that Alexander is into some shady business and possibly murder. But when Alexander hands Ryan a second photo on a separate target to watch, all bets are off. Ryan instantly falls for the lovely creature in the picture, Paige, and he will do whatever it takes to ensure HER SAFETY.
Six years pass, Ryan is head of Oz's security after he divulges his deal with Alexander, but Ryan doesn't want Alexander's deal, he wants Paige. With Oz and Ryan at a understanding, the two work together to protect their women, but Paige is looking for something else. She wants revenge for her mother's death and she knows where to get it: right at her father's doorstep.
I encourage you to follow these two characters on their journey to love, but will it last or will they let their pasts blind and separate them?

Everything For Her being the first and that book is where we first met Paige Turner and Ryan Justice.
After reading Everything for her I prayed that Alexa Riley would do a follow up for Paige and Ryan and I was so happy when it was announced.
I fell for Ryan aka Captain in Everything For Her and His Alone definitely delivers what the fans need.
I absolutely loved this book and read it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down.
I'd have cried if I had to stop reading it as I was so taken with the storyline.
Whilst It was a full length novel the time flew by whilst reading it as it was a very well written easy flowing book with fantastic characters.
All the suspense and drama was fantastic and OMG how I loved the strong and sassy Paige.
She had me laughing away with some of her antics,she definitely knew how to keep Ryan on his toes.
These two made the perfect Alexa Riley couple and I'm so glad they found each other or should that be Ryan found Paige and never gave up on her.
This is the perfect story of never giving up on someone when you know they are worth the wait.
I also loved seeing more glimpes into Miles and Mallory's life from Everything For Her.
Paige and Mallory's friendship just gets stronger and stronger and it's so sweet that they are constants in each others life no matter what's going on in their lives.

I get happy every time this author(s) writes something new. If you like sweet and sexy, AR is a major treat.

This story combines two powerful needs: love and revenge. And tough cookie Paige is torn between these two forces of nature. i enjoyed reading about her mixed feelings when she can't believe a man as perfect as Captain America shows an interest that seems true and golden. Does she deserve it? Can she believe it when she's got demons to exorcise that stain her too much to be worthy?

Everything is told in sweet, funny scenes full of banter, longing, and some very sensual encounters. Even though they are playful, they take their time to develop trust, and their feelings are all over the place.

Captain America and this sassy fighter of a woman with a mission are adorable together. There are so many things to relish: the interactions with Miles and Mallory from the previous novel as their romance evolves too, the drama of Paige's trauma and Ryan's secrets, the possessive bond they share. I absolutely adore the many epilogues this novel has because they show so much of these characters' love and future together.

It was a pretty, fun journey that gave me hours of happiness. I pray that AR writes Jordan's story next. His scar deserves it. That's payback for not writing Captain America's scene wearing the costume and doing the deed...

I’ve read the first book in this series-Everything for Me and it was alright. Throughout my reading of that story, the tension between Paige and Ryan was palpable. I wanted to see a book about them and with some things left unresolved, there just had to be more. I was interested to see how things would go.
Alexa Riley are known for their insta-love, sex scenes, and over the top possessive alphas and of course they are prevalent in this book. Now I don’t mind these tropes so I was able to deal wth this book. Ryan and Paige have secrets that they keep hidden. And these secrets can affect their relationship as well as other outside forces. So it takes a while for them to succumb to their connection. And when these two finally get together, it was hot. I liked how good they were with each other and their banter was fun to read. Ryan was just like Miles, as in the possessiveness, love, and hotness was demonstrated. Paige was tough and sweet. With all that she went through in the past, she was resilient. Meanwhile the other element to the story really made this interesting and I was interested to see how it would play out. Miles and Mallory are present in this book as parts of the plot involve them and they are good friends with Paige and Ryan. Just like the first book, it was an okay read for me that had some good moments.
