This is another wonderful, beautiful and great read by Jaxson Kidman and London Casey. The book was beautifully written with well developed characters and a well developed story line.
This is the story of Cass & Diem. Cass, who grew up hard but learned how to become his own person through his music and then the art of tattoo. Diem, who lost her parents at a very young age, became friends with a fast moving, hard living friend named Scarlett while living in foster care.
When Scarlett is killed in a car accident, Diem ends up raising her baby who, she knows, never told the father. When she can no longer take the burden by herself, she ends up locating and telling Cass he is the father of Scarlett's baby. The story of Diem and Cass begins to grow when he finally meets his daughter.
I have read all the "True Heart" novels by Jaxson Kidman and would highly recommend each and every one of them. His books take on such a heartfelt and warm feeling that it's hard to put them down once you start. I am now continuing on my journey with this author. These books are well worth it.

This story will stick with you long after. It’s real, raw and messy. It’s about finding love, building a family and overcoming tragedy to live in the present. It’s about life.

Cass was a rocker. He was living the life. He met Scarlett and had one night of passion and he fell for her. And then she was gone.
Cass moved on and left music behind. He became a tattoo artist at St. Skin.
Scarlett left that night but never forgot Cass. Well she couldn’t after she found out she was pregnant. And shortly after Paisley was born she died in a car accident.
Diem, Scarlett’s bff, is raising the baby. They were friends as kids, both in the foster system. Neither had family. They had eachother.
Scarlett never told Cass, but once she’s gone Diem decides he has a right to know. So she finds Cass and goes to meet him to tell him about his daughter. But this isn’t an easy situation. Things are about to get real complicated.
The story is full of emotional torment. Diem constantly feeling less than or in Scarlett’s shadow. Cass coming to terms with having a baby and anger at Scarlett for not telling him. So much turmoil. It’s a gripping story that will have you pulling for this little family. Cass has all the right words that will make you swoon and the hot steamy moments will get you hot.
The supporting characters were interesting and I cannot wait to read their stories.

In Her Words shows you heartbreak, loss, romance, true love, and family. This book is amazing and heartbreaking in several different ways.

Cass is a bad boy pay boy, who swore he would never love again. Then he meets Scarlett at a show and falls in love instantly, but she takes off before he wakes up the next morning. He thought he lost her and everything involving her. Little did he know she let with a piece of him.
Diem, Sarlett’s best friend, is there through everything with Scarlett. She has no idea how to deal with the loss of her best friend or the little miracle she was given following Scarlett’s death.

When Diem finally finds Cass to tell him that Scarlett got pregnant that night and now she is gone forever leaving Diem to raise her daughter. Cass losses it, he has no idea how to react to any of this information.
Diem and Cass have a long road of learning how to cope, learning to trust one another, and learning how to co-parent Cass’s daughter..

See the beautiful story of how Cass and Diem take a tragedy and turn it into something beautiful by reading In Her Words for yourself.?❤️

I fell in love with every character in this book. Perfect character development. Excellent editing too!! Sorry to disappoint the picky Polly's of the reading sector. Lol

Definitely a five star book. If you enjoy tragedy to serendipitous joy, then it only makes sense to get this wonderful book. It's definitely a heart felt creation.

I never give anything away in my reviews. I am to the point that if a book is highly rated, I just read it without even reading any info on it so that I am not swayed or going into a read with preconceived notions. Because I am suffering from a lethal disease, I read most of the time. Like a book a day. So I most definitely know good writing.

Funny thing is I was asked to do a ARC on this book January of an unknown year. But got the message last night! I was able to read it free with kindle prime.

I want to praise London Casey for the imagination, fortitude, and guts it took to bring this great read to us. To me writing a book is like having a baby. You go through all the nail biting of pregnancy. All the pain to bring forth this creation. Then hang a picture of your new born on line to have people review your baby. To me that takes true courage. Thank you London for your courage. ????

Hit me for ARC anytime!

BOOK TITLE: IN HER WORDS: A ST. SKIN NOVELLA
AUTHORS: LONDON CASEY AND JAXSON KIDMAN
DATE READ: FEBRUARY 7, 2017 – FEBRUARY 8, 2017

Anybody who has read the work of London Casey and Jaxson Kidman know that the two of them are very good at what they do, so with the two of them combining their skills in a FABULOUS new series can only mean one thing…. GREATNESS!!!! He is one of the few men who I read their books. It is hard to believe that men can write romance novels. Jaxson is one of the few who can do it with a passion that will make you want more. And of course, London Casey is a genius and a pro at the BAD BOY!!!! “In Her Words” is the story of a Musician who in one night met his other half, and wanted more after just one night, and a woman who lost her best friend and finds herself raising the baby she left behind. It is a story that will leave your heart feeling all kinds of emotions. You will find your heart breaking, you will cry, you will laugh, you will find your heart beating way too fast, you will get excited, and then you will find yourself panting and gasping for MORE!!!! All I can say is “London and Jaxson, bring it on.” I am ready for more St. Ink! Trust me when I say that you will not want to put the book down till you are finished, and you surely do not want to miss out on this WONDERFULLY FABULOUS Book!!!

Cass is a musician who is looking for something in his life, and then one night after a concert he finds it in a girl named Scarlett. They spent the night talking, drinking, and even started writing a song together. She was like no other girl he had ever met. She made him want more than just one night with her. He wakes up the next day and she is gone, and so is the half of the song that he wrote for her. His life starts spiraling out of control and he leaves the music business and starts working at a Tattoo shop called St. Skin. There he can bring life to other people’s stories through his tattoos. Though he knows he will never hear from Scarlett again he thinks about her often, but what Cass didn’t know was that Scarlett was going to come back into his life in a way he never dreamed possible. He never saw it coming when a woman named Diem comes barging into his life with the daughter Scarlett never told him about. Now that she has properly turned his life upside down and his heart as well, Cass struggles with trying to figure out what he is to do. How does he become a father over night? How does he deal with the feelings that he feels for Diem when his heart was only supposed to have room for Scarlett? Cass’s biggest problem is the feelings he is starting to feel Diem feel right, but are they wrong?

Diem’s best friend Scarlett died in a car crash and left her to raise her daughter Paisley. Diem has done everything she can to keep Paisley as her own and keep a roof over Paisley’s head. She is alone and has no one to depend on to help her with Paisley. Diem struggles with her conscience nagging at her that Paisley’s father deserves to know that he has a daughter and he should be given the right to decide if he wants to be in her life or not. But Diem’s fear of having Paisley taken from her keeps her from it. That is till Paisley gets sick and Diem loses a job that could mean a lot of money to her, and now she knows she needs help. She surely didn’t expect to find Paisley’s father in a tattoo shop complete with muscles, tattoos, and an attitude that made her blood boil. Oh, the fact that he was completely handsome didn’t help any either. She isn’t going to force him to do anything, but she is hoping that he will help with Paisley without taking her away from her. But things seem to get complicated when Diem starts to have feelings for Cass. Is this wrong because of Scarlett? Will Cass and Diem both get past the death of Scarlett to realize that they can have a life together? Or will they let Scarlett’s memory stay between them forcing them both to remain unhappy?

No Spoilers. Advanced Reader Copy Read voluntarily and with extreme PLEASURE!!!!

I absolutely loved this book. I love Karolyn James and Jaxson Kidman but now they have put all of their talent together to bring you a book that will take you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. It was a story of love, heartbreak, traumatic childhood experiences and perseverance. Cass had grown up without a father and a mother who had to juggle three jobs just to give him food and a roof over his head. Once he’s finally old enough he takes off to California to make it big in the rock scene. He drifted between bands as a well sought after guitar player and made lots of money. He also had amazing sex appeal which brought him women by the armfuls. This rock star life was starting to get the better of him so he walked away from the music world and turned to something else he felt he could be creative in. This is how he got his tattoo artist job at St. Skin and again became top in his field. He still had fame and women but in a different field and everything was going great…until one day a woman came into his shop and dropped a bomb on him…he is the father to a little girl.

Diem was only trying to do what was right for Paisley because she loved that little girl with her whole heart. Paisley was created out of a one night stand with Cass but it was a night full of a potential future because both Cass and Scarlett had a special connection…that is until Cass woke up alone the next morning never to hear from Scarlett again. Scarlett and Diem were best friends both growing up in foster care system with Scarlett being the wild child and Diem was always the responsible one. Diem was with Scarlett all throughout her pregnancy and would do anything for Scarlett. One day Scarlett left Paisley with Diem to babysit and Scarlett never returned home. Diem took it upon herself to raise Paisley and give her the love she deserved even if it meant putting her whole life as she knew it into turmoil. Diem knew she had to do what was best for Paisley even if it meant she might lose her and that’s when she knew she had to tell Cass that he had a little girl. Would Cass give up his womanizing ways and even want to be a father to a daughter he never knew existed and if so, would this mean that Diem would lose the little girl who held her heart?

This book wouldn’t let me put it down because I felt so invested in Cass, Diem and Paisley. My heart soared with theirs and then was torn apart like theirs. I cannot wait to see what the authors come up with in the next book in this series…oh, yes there had better be more from St. Skin because it was just that good!

I received this book as an ARC for a freely given honest review.

Anyone who reads Jaxson Kidman and London Casey on a regular basis has been impatiently waiting for this book to come out, and let me tell you, it was definitely worth the wait!!

Diem grew up as a dorky little girl with a carefree best friend in Scarlett. They stayed the best of friends all through life, and Diem was even there when Scarlett gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Paisley. An accident it was brought the two girls together, and an accident it was split them apart. In the course of one night, Diem goes from babysitter to "mom". Through all the legalities and completely changing her life, Diem has fallen even further in love with the beautiful baby and is scared to search for Paisley's father. But since her own father was taken away by tragedy, she doesn't want Paisley to grow up the same way. She decides to do the one thing that could tear their little "family" apart, and search for the father....

Cass used to play lead guitar with several bands and reaped the benefits of all that comes with the rockstar life on the road--parties, drinks, and women. One woman in particular got away, and Cass hasn't been able to get over that. When a stranger shows up and tells him that not only does she know the "one that got away," she has also been taking care of the daughter she had with Cass, to say he doesn't believe it is an understatement! He's used to women trying to weasel their way into his life and wallet, but something about Diem seems different. When he finally talks to her and sees a picture of baby Paisley, he knows it's all true. Now both of their lives will be forever changed once more....

This book has such an amazingly strong story. London and Jaxson did such an unbelievable job with the characters, their background, how their lives intertwine, everything. You get so sucked into the story from page one and it never lets you go until the end. Any parent that reads this story will have it hit them even harder since you know what a dramatic change having a child can be--the joy, the worry, the love. Even though Diem tries to keep Cass at arms length unsure of the future, when she finally gives in to his charms, holy cow, you won't be disappointed! Yes the sex is hot, but you also get such a sense of the passion between the two main characters. There are parts that will make you laugh, make you cry, and definitely have you reaching for your loved one (if you know what I mean)! Great, great story!!

In Her Words has an endearing plot that is heartwarming and will leave you feeling jubilant.

Diem and Scarlett are best friends, both growing up in foster care. But a one night stand with a rock star leaves Scarlett pregnant and she won’t reveal who the father is. But tragedy strikes leaving Diem, once babysitter, now a new mom to Scarlett’s daughter, Paisley. Diem loves Paisley and she becomes her whole world, but being a single mom leaves her exhausted with very few resources. She desperately needs to find who the father is, in all fairness to Paisley and the father. She finds a clue among Scarlett’s things and begins her search. But she never planned on falling had for Cass when she meets him.

Cass is a rock star turned tattoo artist. He’s arrogant, bit of a manwhore, but all that changes when Diem comes crashing in with the news he has a daughter. Cass has a hard time wrapping that news around his head, and things are a bit strained between Cass and Diem. The attraction is undeniable, and as hard as they try, its irresistible, especially when Cass melts all Diem’s defenses. Cass proves to be a great dad, and he’s fully enjoying a side of life he never thought he wanted. Definitely this part makes you warm and fuzzy. All the gang at St. Skins, the tattoo shop, get into the action and it’s adorable.

In Her Words is a wonderful story co-written by Karolyn James and Jaxson Kidman, and what a great collaboration. It’s the first book in the St. Skin series and I’m looking forward to the next book.

I received an advanced review copy in exchange for an honest review. The author has made this book available in Kindle Unlimited. This book is written in duel pov’s. It also is written alternating between the past and the present. The beginning was a little confusing to me sorting out the characters and timeline. It took me a little while to realize Cass was actually a man lol. Cass’s constant endearment of “Darlin” is very tiring but other than that its a sweet story.

We start off with what turns out to be a one night stand between Cass and Scarlett resulting in a pregnancy. Scarlett's best friend Diem has temporary custody and is raising Paisley due to Scarlett's untimely death in a car accident. She finally makes the decision to tell Cass about the baby to give him the opportunity to be a father to her. Due to loosing her parents in a fire at a young age and put into the system she wants to make sure this doesn’t happen to Paisley.

Cass is really upset and hurt that Scarlett never told him about the pregnancy He has a hard time coming to terms with the situation but wants to be a father to Paisley. Diem has guilt over Scarlett death and feeling like Paisley isn’t really her daughter and could loose her at anytime. She has lost so much in her life and struggling to be a single mom is overwhelming to her. This is their story of overcoming the challenges of raising a baby, falling in love and becoming a family.

Diem’s wild child best friend Scarlett had a one night stand with a rock star and took off before he woke up the following morning. The consequences of that night spread wide and deep, when Scarlett has a car accident, leaving Diem with the baby girl. After many months of taking care of the baby single-handedly, Diem finally admits that she has to find the father before (a) she can no longer support the baby and her, or (b) the courts take the baby away from her, since she has no legal right to keep the child. Cass gave up the rock star life and is currently living a reasonably quiet life as a star tattoo artist. That being said, he is still a player with the ladies. When Diem drops the bombshell of him being a father on Cass, he responds in shock by telling her to get out. Bawling her eyes out in her car before making the journey back home to the baby, he finds her and tells her if she wants to explain herself, he’ll be at a local bar that night. Although the two of them immediately respond so strongly to each other, there are too many things and feelings coming between them. Rocky road for the three of them, but a lovely tale of loss, doubt and love.

Cass had had some awful experiences in his life that had made his world change and had left him considering what if… Scarlett had been one of those experiences but she left him with much more. Leaving behind a rock star life to become an ink artist seemed good for him and somehow satisfying his need to create. But, when life brought him another chance he was struggling with his feelings. Diem was exhausted, lacking resources and with her hands full to deal with her new responsibility. Her life had been all about doing good and been there and it was taking its toll. Afraid she would lose Paisley, she made a decision that would change her life forever. Cass was a strong character but at the same time sensitive and in need of an anchor. Diem was struggling with her feelings and the guilt was drowning her. She would not be a replacement and that idea had her blind. An emotionally intense story that made me felt with Diem and Cass predicament. Strong emotions, some twists in the story, good and supportive second characters, romance, hot sex and a good HEA. Voluntarily reviewed this lovely and interesting story.

Diem's best friend, Scarlett, was killed by a drunk driver and now she is raising Scarlett's daughter. She wants to do the right thing so she tracks down the baby's father. Diem finds him in a town an hour from where she lives. Cass is shocked to discover that he has a daughter, and also angry that Scarlett never told him about the pregnancy. These are fantastic characters, Diem will struggle to believe that the gorgeous, tattooed, ex rock star turned tattoo artist, wants her and loves her for herself. Cass will struggle to come to terms with Scarlett's death and he will have to convince Diem that he wants a family that includes his daughter, Paisley, and Diem herself. Sexy and sweet, with some unexpected twists, and a happily ever after. This is a perfect romance for Valentine's Day. I loved this book!

Review for IN HER WORDS
What happens when the person you have always thought of as “the one” turns out to be a mistake? Cass is an ex rockstar turned tattooist who has been wondering about the one that got away. A one night stand whose connection was so real that he has never been able to let it go. Enter Diem…a woman who brings up the past and heart ache for him…only leaving him with more questions. She is the friend of his one night stand who also happens to be raising his child. As the story unfolds, both are left with feelings and emotions that they both have trouble sorting out. When it all finally comes to a head will these two be able to see their way clear or will the ghosts from the past tear them apart forever ??

I seriously loved this book, Cass is swoon worthy and Diem is your next best friend. Both of these characters have wounded hearts and don't let people in easily but the spark between them is instantaneous. They slowly start to build a relationship and with that build a foundation for a loving partnership. Theirs is by no means an easy journey, there's past hurts to deal with, a suprise baby, geography and feelings of inadequacy.....and that's just after the first meeting. The characters are likeable and well written, the story line was developed and the chemistry between these two is off the charts. Can't wait to read the next installment in this series.

What a team: London Casey & Jaxson Kidman! The plot was intriguing and different. It was slow going and confusing during the first part of the book. Once I made it to about 30%, I liked it. Cass is such an awesome character! He was well developed and you learned his past history that led him to where he is today. I wanted to like Diem and to some extent I did. I didn't hate her. She seemed a little immature for her age. Giving birth doesn't make you a mother. Raising that child to be the best they can be among other things makes a mother! The one major thing I hate is the format of the book. Going back and forth gets confusing sometimes.

This book brings me back to the start of my love for Karolyn James/London Casey’s book because, man can she write a rock star romance like no ones business. In addition to her awesome writing, she co-wrote this one with Jaxon Kidman…so YUM!

When he gives it all up to become a tattoo artist, he thinks he life is going to settle down, but he does not expect Diem to walk through his door. He soon realizes that nothing is ever going to be the same again and he is unsure how to handle everything.

Diem and Cass's story was absolutely amazing. The back and forth of then and now kept me hanging on wanting to know each and every detail. I only have two complaints. I wish it was a bit more specific than years ago, years later. But that didn't take away from the story, I just feel that being specific in the timeline would have been better. The bigger issue I had was the mistakes in pronouns. It was very easy to understand what was meant but I had to stop and reread a sentence or two a bit too often. It made the read less fluid, which was unfortunate because the story was so good!

I received this ARC for an honest review

Wow.....how to explain how much I loved this book. The fact that two of my fav authors got together is just amazing. Karolyn's rock guys and Jaxson's darlin' just kill me. The way you wove your two styles together is amazing. I truly hope the two of you write more together. Thank you for allowing me the chance to review this for you. Now to the story - Great story, loved the characters, especially Cass as I love tattooed bad boys. (I am married to one) I didn't like the fact that he got arrested on Paisley's first birthday though. That made me sad for everyone's memories for that day. There had already been plenty to tragedy and drama in everyone's lives. I will recommend this book and truly look forward to more books in this story line.....plenty of characters (maybe Susan and Axel will hit it off). Just saying!!!!! Thank you again and happy writing!

I have been reading London Casey for quite a while and that is simply great but add Jaxson Kidman to the mix and you have greater than simply. Diem is raising her BFF baby when BFF was killed by a drunk driver but BFF had never told the dad. Cass was a rockstar when he got the BFF pregnant thinking they had something before she disappeared by morning. Now he is a tattoo artist when Diem hunts him down with the good news. There are no coincidences in God's world even in fiction. I received a gifted copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review. I honestly love this story and these authors!

Loved these characters. As much as Cass and Diem had been through, it's surprising that they would end up the way they did

Diem was strong, they broken, if that is even able to be done. She was also very unwilling to accept her fate, always thinking she wasn't good enough, but that was fast from the truth. Cass brought out the best in her, but also made her scared of the future. Cass grew up a lot in this book, and his need to be a better man was more powerful than anything else.

Great read. I hope there is more to read about these two in the future

Broken people living life and sometimes life comes full circle.

Loved that Cass and Diem experiences both joy and pain in their road to find each other. It’s those struggles that make us who we are not just the good but the bad too.

This story started out “choppy” at first but then seemed to find its rhythm. It made me laugh and cry - took me away and back again.

Diem is a strong, determined, loving women. And after a tragic accident she becomes a mother to her best friends baby. Cass is ex rocker turned tattoo artist who fell in love with Diems best friend after only one night. But she disappears the next morning, never to be heard from again. He moves on and when Diem shows up out of the blue the shit hits the fan. This book is a roller coaster and it will keep you on the edge of your seat. There's heartbreak, and pain, love and sex and everything in between. I highly recommend this book. I received this book as an arc reader

I voluntarily read an Advance Review Copy of this book

I love reading books written by London Casey & Jaxson Kidman. As usual this story keeps you interested throughout the entire book. Scarlett and Cass hook up after a concert but the next morning she’s gone. After she dies in a car accident her best friend Diem, who has been taking care of their daughter after she died decides to go find Cass and tell him about the baby.

I loved the chemistry between Diem and Cass as they spend time together while he gets to know his daughter.

Fate & Destiny throw some twists & turns turning Cass and Diem's worlds upside down. Scarlett has tied Cass and Diem together without knowing it with baby Paisley. Diem is trying to raise her best friend Scarlett's baby while trying to support them both. Her boyfriend has left her as well as her friends. So Diem goes looking for Paisley's father to get some help. What she finds surprises both Diem and Cass. Cass use to be a rock god and he gave it all up to tattoo. Now he's seeing what fate and Destiny have in store for them all. Overall this is a very quick heart warming MUST read.

I really liked this book. Diem is caring for the daughter of her best friend while facing a hard decision. She wants to do what her friend didn't, reach out to the father of the baby, Cass. If she does that, will she lose baby Paisley? Both Diem and Cass were hit with an onslaught of emotions - fear, sadness and love. I would definitely recommend this book.

I am voluntarily reviewing this arc of this book. This book was filled with a man who was a musician but turned tattooist. He's great at them. While he was on the road he met n fell for a girl. Who left during the night after their one night stand he wanted more but she took off she had a secret n she keeps it from him. Diem goes to him. And tells him and he later builds a relationship with her and he is great. They have their ups n downs but everything goes OK. I enjoyed this book and I hope there is more with the men of st skin.

Wow. I very much enjoyed reading this story.
Diem is raising Paisley, she is Scarlet's daughter. Scarlet and Diem were best friends having met while they were both in foster care homes.
Scarlet was a partier and Diem kept her grounded. Scarlett after having a one night affair with Caspian(Cass) gives birth to Paisley.
when Scarlet dies Diem ends up raising Paisley and goes to find Cass (Paisleys) father.
They have their ups and downs and struggle to do all that is best for Paisley while finding a love for one another.

I liked the development of the characters and their situations. It was pretty well written with few errors which is good bc those drive me nuts.

What bothered me though, was Diems constant stress over the same damn thing.. and Cass's constant use of *Darlin*. I think he used Diems name maybe 4 times in the whole book. It's only so bothersome b.c he calls every woman he encounters Darlin like he can't be bothered to remember names, and then uses it constantly w the woman he's suppose to love? It would have meant a lot more I think if it were used less.
Besides these things though a pretty decent book.

This was an awesome book about finding happiness out of tragedy. When her best friend dies, Diem is left caring for her infant daughter. The baby's father has no idea she was even born until Diem finds Cass. To say Cass and Diem's relationship is an emotional rollercoaster that I did not want to get off. This was the perfect story filled with beautiful, honest characters and a plot that kept the pages turning. I do did not want this story to end.

If this is what comes from a collaboration of Jaxson Kidman,London Casey and Karolyn James I can't wait for more!
Cass and Diem are brought together by tragedy. A life was extinguished but another life has barely begun. Paisley needs a Mom and Dad.
Diem loves her but knows she also needs her Dad. When she tells him he is a father the shock sends him reeling.
Can they come together for Paisley's sake? Will love find a home in these two lonely souls?
Be prepared to cry, laugh and sigh all the way to the HEA.
