Nicole French had out done herself again. She has taken me yet on another amazing ride, love, lust, and all kinds of emotions running through it. I loved it! Can’t wait for the sequel. I was truly lucky to have received this book as an ARC to review. Truly a great book.

Layla and Nico. The couple that everyone has reservations about but you know when it right, right? They go through a lot to prove themselves and their connection in undeniable. This book sucker punches you at the end, but ny god you really want to read the next. A good read.

Beautifully written storyline hooked me right in from the very first page and the characters were so well developed that I was totally captivated until the turn of the very last page!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Unfortunately, I couldn't connect with the characters in this book. I'm not sure, maybe it was the way it was written. It was hard for me to stay on track. It all looked good from the blurb, but that was it.

This is probably the best romance novel I’ve ever read. I loved the characters. Really loved them. I don’t know if men really feel like Nico felt but I know when I was 19 I felt just like Lyla. Every emotion she felt was real. I cried when....well when.

I can ALWAYS do with out the explicit sex scenes. ALWAYS

I felt duped when I found out it was a “to be continued”. In the past if this happened I would delete the book and NOT buy the set BUT I had to find out.

Nicole French, you are now ABSOLUTELY, UNEQUIVOCALLY one of my top fav authors EVER...and this was the very first book I've read of yours!!! This is the epitome of love at first sight, an angsty and difficult existence when you love someone you've only just briefly seen me met. The chemistry is immediate and rushing, you hurry towards it without looking anywhere but straight in front. But as amazing as it feels, is it even something you should run towards?

I FELT this book so much! That's how terrific this story was for me... I could FEEL every, single inch of it. I melted when Layla saw Nico for the first time...even as he was walking away from her. And then when both of them meet on Nico's FedEx delivery route, the fireworks were undeniable. I was captivated and able to relate so well to a lot of the same feelings, thoughts, emotions, behaviors, everything written in black and white and right in front of my very own eyes. It transported me back 23 years ago to my own love at first sight and the relationship between my high school sweetheart and I.

Nicole French made Nico and Layla, the two primary, main characters, come to life and be so relevant and relatable. And their story is one of tragedy, really. It's guy meets girl, their eyes connect, and it doesn't matter who or what else is around them, they are locked into one another. But it's somewhat strained, right from the beginning because they come from opposite ends of the spectrum and are years apart. Nico struggled through his life, did what he could to help make ends meet. He was a fighter. Layla came from a life somewhat of privilege but was determined to become her own person when she moved to New York. Their chance meeting led to a desire they both had for one another. They were so attracted to one another, there were immediate fireworks, and despite an age difference, they decided they had to be together. They fight to keep their relationship going, and that struggle is so moving and so gripping in this story, I could not stop reading. I wanted their love to sustain as much as they did. The ending left me wanting MORE, MORE, MORE. Layla and Nico's story isn't done.

This book has me hooked. It ended with questions still to be answered, and the story is definitely not finished with Layla and Nico. I am SO excited to find out what Nicole French is going to write about next in this story and for these characters. I cannot wait for the next book!

Bad Idea is a beautifully written love story that will touch your heart and soul.

Layla and Nico have an explosive chemistry between them. A deep soulmate love.

Nico, born on the wrong side of the tracks, carries a heavy burden on his shoulders. He's the oldest who helps provide for his spanish family. A FedEx driver and a bouncer. Wanting to get out of New York and head to California for a new job, he has to make a huge decision. Will Nico leave his true love? Or will he stay?

Layla, Brazilian, is a law student at NYU. She has a domineering, wealthy father who only provides for tuition and housing.Working part time she meets Nico, the man's smile that could light up a room. Will Layla let Nico go or will she ask him to stay?

Nicole French has a way in her writings of making you feel the deep emotions of the characters.

An older man and a young woman, of different cultures and lifestyles, deeply in love face obstacles that test their love. The cliffhanger ripped my heart out.

I would recommend this book. Can't wait for next installments, Lost Ones #2 and True North #3.

Okay, first of all, Nicole French is the queen of cliffhangers. I'm just saying, I feel like I'm still holding my breath after reading the ending of Bad Idea since last night! I thought a good nights sleep would shake the feeling of "I Need To Know What Happens Next". Nope, did not help. Bad Idea will stay in your head long after you see "The End". When I saw that this was volume 1, I told myself I can handle it .... Ha yeah right. I need more ASAP!

Layla is finally living for herself in NY and going to school. She is a temp at a law firm and that is where Nico finds her. He can never stay away. But his dreams of getting out of NY is black cloud that is always hovering around these two. No doubt, the passion, the chemistry, and love are there for Layla and Nico. Layla loves hard and never once judged Nico for his dark past. Bad Idea is the perfect title to this story. This book has angst and is a roller coaster ride for your emotions. In this case, love sets these two onto different paths.

Like I said, the ending was just crazy! I need to know if these two can find the same path they were once on. I am hoping Layla is okay, and hoping Nico can save her. I want and need them to be together and into each others lives. Not just as friends, but as lovers. I will sit here with my leg jumping up and down until Part 2 is released with hopes and dreams for these two <3 Book Friends, Bad Idea is a book you need to get your hands on!

Reviewed on behalf of Reading Through Her Eyes

What happens when you meet someone but it's all wrong? Meet 19 year old Layla Barros, a college student in New York originally from Washington state. Meet 26 year old Nico Soltero, a fed-ex guy and club doorman. Layla has dreams of being a Lawyer but hasn't figured out her major yet. Nico has dreams of leaving the city and finally trying to make something of himself rather than carrying the burden of supporting his family. Three months before he's supposed to leave for LA he meets Layla, their attraction to one another is instantaneous. What happens next? You'll have to read to find out!

Overall Thoughts: Nicole French tells an amazing story about meeting the wrong person at the wrong time. When racial (we all have people in our lives who do judge those we date), class, language, education, jobs, and age differences affect many of your choices or your friends opinions on who you're dating. When you're dreams want to take you away from the one you care about or you don't want to hold them back, would you force them to stay with you or would you let them pursue their dreams? I absolutely loved this story, it had it all! I cried, laughed, cursed and swooned. I could relate to the characters struggles because I've been in their shoes before. This is a book I would recommend.

Angst doesn’t even begin to cover what This book is full of! Lust, hope, desire, hate, and most of all love! Those are some of the emotions you’ll feel while reading this beautiful book!

Nico is a man who has worked his butt off for his family! He doesn’t have much but he definitely has his charm! Layla was raised by a family with money yet she’s far from a rich girl. She works to afford her life in New York while also being a full time student. Neither one expected the spark that grew when they met but they also can’t fight it forever! Can they get past their differences to find a way to make it work?

I absolutely LOVE Nico! He’s unlike any other character I’ve come across! His life has been full of obstacles but he’s still standing and has made his way in life and more than anything he has found a love within himself that he never knew possible!! Layla is someone I wish I could pull from the book and hug! She struggles to make a life for herself while still being young! She had no one who knows her deepest secrets and her fears yet with one look she knows Nico holds her heart unlike any other.

This story has a cliffy so be warned but I suggest to still read because you won’t be disappointed! Nicole definitely never disappoints!!

Jesus, I live for books like this one! Layla, the rich girl making her own way in the world. Nico, the hard-working family guy with a rough start striving for better. Two people who seemingly don't have much in common, but when their paths cross it's evident that there's a spark between the two that they can't ignore. But despite their undeniable love and passion, their paths seem to lead them in different directions and being together just might be a bad idea.

Okay, wow! You know those books where people say 'this was everything!' Well, THIS BOOK IS EVERYTHING. Gah! Nicole French takes you on one hell of an emotional roller coaster. Bad Idea is filled with euphoric highs of love, hope, passion and family. Then it dips into lows of angst and heartbreak, but it's those crazy twists and turns like that cliffhanger at the end that really make this book and story such a great ride you'll want to experience more than once. Begin this series NOW! 4.5 stars.

Layla knew that she wanted Nico but so did everyone else in the office. The hot FedEx delivery man was what any woman would desire. Nico wanted Layla just as much. Their coming together was slow but well worth it. I loved this story and the development of the characters. This book wrecked me and had me crying ugly tears. Freaking amazing story and Nicole French is just stunning as an author and I am becoming a hardcore fan. I am dying for the next book!!!

Full of angst, emotion and beautifully written sexual tension. Bad Idea by Nicole French will tear you apart with this cliffhanger and leave you wanting more, more, more of Nico and Layla.
She’s a young college student, far away from home and conflicted with what she wants to study when she takes a job and falls for the handsome, UPS driver and club doorman, Nico. He’s experienced and worldly in her eyes and the two combust with passion. There’s only one problem - the timing is all wrong.
A must read for anyone who loves angsty, star-crossed lovers.
