The Last of the Firedrakes (The Avalonia Chronicles Book 1)
The Last of the Firedrakes (The Avalonia Chronicles Book 1)

Review:This story was such a pleasant surprise. It captured my attention from the very beginning and left me wanting more of Aurora's story at the end.

Farah Oomerbhoy wove a brilliant story between our world and that of magical beings. She has such a way with words that the reader is able to submerse themselves completely into the world of Avalonia. Oomerbhoy builds and teaches the reader, as well as Aurora, the way of Avalonia and those that live within. The descriptions in which Oomerbhoy... Read more

Every Which Way But Dead (The Hollows, Book 3)
Every Which Way But Dead (The Hollows, Book 3)

Review:"The mad have a grace all of their own."
Rachel Morgan

I was extremely excited to dig into this one after the massive ending of the second. As I wanted, it starts with Rachel and Algaliarept and their 'deal', which was a fascinating turnout. Setting the tone for the rest of the book was perfect. I was happy to get plenty of Al time, and thrown in with this was a new, intriguing character and back history.

In this book the pot is heating up about Ivy and Rachel's unconventional r... Read more

A Fistful of Charms (The Hollows, Book 4)
A Fistful of Charms (The Hollows, Book 4)

Review:The style of this book was a departure from the pattern of the first three, which was refreshing at first, but then dragged a bit toward the end. Instead of Rachel's hometown Cincinnati, this book takes place in Mackinaw, Michigan, which I loved! Michigan is my home state and I have to admit that I have not read too many books that take place there, especially in Mackinaw, where I went at least once every summer growing up! I did also love the deeper investigations into the characters such as Je... Read more

This Is How You Lose Her
This Is How You Lose Her

Review:Junot Diaz's collection of short stories, "This Is How You Lose Here, is magical. His characters come to life in these stories of lust, love, loneliness, illness and desperation. Despite their circumstances, the characters never lose hope and the ability to dream.

Besides the beauty of Diaz's language and the authenticity of his characters,it is the universality of the themes, which appeal to all of us.

I heartily recommend this collection. Read more

Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe Book 1)
Cruel Beauty (Cruel Beauty Universe Book 1)

Review:It's no secret that I am a sucker for fairytale re-tellings and Beauty and the Beast is my favorite story to be retold. These retellings can get really deep and intense when done right. And CRUEL BEAUTY does not disappoint at all in this category. Seriously, it was so close to perfection that I have no idea how I can write this review. I'm 99% tempted to just keyboard smash and go OMGIGNIFEX over and over and over.

In the very beginning of this book, I had a little bit of trouble getting ... Read more

Claiming My Duchess
Claiming My Duchess

Review:This is a wonderful book. I was impressed with how the story was told, the detail and chemistry was off the charts. All the elements were well put. Iliana and Seb were so good together you could just feel what they were feeling. And the intrigue and hotness was just right. I volunteered to read and review an Advance Reader copy. Read more

The Heat

Review:Wow. Alice Ward had written another story that will suck you in and won't let go. Atlee is a young lawyer, wanting to save the world. Wyatt is the new CEO of his family's multi million dollar company, that produces environmentally unsafe products. Do you see where I am going with this?
