A Novel (Dr. Charlotte Stone) - The Last Kiss Goodbye
A Novel (Dr. Charlotte Stone) - The Last Kiss Goodbye

Review:I've read numerous romance novels and many different non-romance fiction books recently that left me in the rut of "what should I read now", romance or regular fiction. I told my coworker that I liked romance novels but still like to have a story that was fun and thrilling with intelligent writing that would make me actually want to finish the story plot. Now don't get me wrong I like the romance parts to keep it edgy but what I get tired of is the typical romance book with the women being a stu... Read more

Whispers at Midnight
Whispers at Midnight

Review:I still feel cheated. I brought this book and Whispers at Midnight as a two story volume. I wish I had saved my money. This book never really worked for me on a couple of levels. Number one what are the odds that Julie would run into Mac while he is dressed in drag in a section of town she never frequents? Then for him to be the brother of the man who was killed in the very first chapter (a man who was connected to Sid) was almost enough to send this book hurtling across the room. Number two Mac... A Novel (Dr. Charlotte Stone) - The Last Time I Saw Her

Review:This was an incredible trilogy I read months ago I believe it was a continuing story spaced between 4 or 5 (can't remember) books and all of them were so good. Karen Robards OTHER books are also very good I l haven't read all of her books but so far all of the books I have read from her are very very good and so interesting I loved it especially this trilogy it was amazing. Bullseye: (Michael Bennett)
Bullseye: (Michael Bennett)

Review:Surprised at the good reviews. I have really enjoyed Patterson's books in the past but maybe it is the coauthor, this book is terrible. I have not even been able to make myself finish it. How many adjectives can you use sums it up. Very disappointing Read more

Run For Your Life: (Michael Bennett)
Run For Your Life: (Michael Bennett)

Review:I really like the main character, Michael Bennet. I like how the authors present him and his personality and his family. The story is very good. I have read other James Patterson stories, but like the Michael Bennet series the best. Read more

Haunted: (Michael Bennett)

Review:So glad to finally have another Michael Bennett and family. This book was so hard to put down I literally could have read it in one day. I kept putting it away to prolong getting to the end. Cannot wait for the next one. Read more

The Ghost Writer: A Novel
The Ghost Writer: A Novel

Review:Robert Harris makes one feel like he is sitting in your living room telling you a story. His characters and locales are richly painted and one can identify with them. This is the second Harris novel that I have read.

The only thing better than Harris writing pure fiction is Harris writing a historical novel like his recent, The Officer and the Spy about the Dreyfus affairs. Read more

The Ghost Writer
The Ghost Writer

Review:I would probably give this book 3.5 stars. Gerard has always had questions about his mother's life before he was born, but she always keeps everything cloaked in mystery. After her death, he is determined to learn the truth and travels from Australia to England. The novel has a great Victorian ghost story feel to it, and I often had cold prickles running up the back of my spine.

The book has a lot in common with The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morten. It seems rather odd how many parallels c... Read more

Hold Back the Dark (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit)

Review:I love Kay Hooper. I eagerly await each new publication. This one, however, I feel missed the mark. The characters didn't seem as developed and the ending? She built it up and it was over in two sentences. VERY anticlimactic. VERY disappointing. Read more

Hostage (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit)
Hostage (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit)

Review:I have been reading Kay Hooper since she was writing romance. Have always liked the Bishop novels. Could hardly put them down. However, Hostage did not hold me in there as did the others.. not sure why. Am awaiting next book, hope it will have more of the thrill(?) as the others. Read more
