Blood Dreams: A Bishop/Special Crimes Unit Novel
Blood Dreams: A Bishop/Special Crimes Unit Novel

Review:Long a reader of Kay Hooper's psychic FBI series, frankly I skipped most of the descriptions of the carnage. It was like long-winded descriptions that serve no purpose in the story line, a voyageur reader I am not.
The story line was excellent and Dani Justice's internal conflict with her gifts, her desires for a world she cannot find, and reality were engaging enough to keep me reading to discover how she could manage to come to terms with the conflicts.
Other characters readers have come... Read more

Chill of Fear
Chill of Fear

Review:Listened to the audiobook. Originally thought it was more of a mystery/thriller novel, but it ended up being more of a romance novel instead. The first few chapters (disks) were engrossing enough to get me to listen through the end. But, the end itself and the second half of the book in gerneral was disappointing.

As the novel moves more from paranormal mystery to romance in tenor it bogs down quite a bit. It's not horrible, but I can't recommend it given the opportunity cost of bypassin... Read more

First Prophet (A Bishop Files Novel)
First Prophet (A Bishop Files Novel)

Review:I have always loved Kay Hooper's "Bishop" books. I have them all, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect
from a "Bishop Files" book, but it pulled me in right away. There is a lot going on in this book, and I didn't
want to put it down until I finished it. It is so well written that for a while I was convinced it wasn't going to be
able to end the way I wanted it to (and part of it didn't). Read more

Wait for Dark (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit)
Wait for Dark (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit)

Review:Have been reading Kay Hooper since she first started. She just gets better and better. This story pretty much finishes Hollis Templeton's story. Even if or when she shows up again it will be as a minor character. Read more

Sense of Evil: A Bishop/Special Crimes Unit Novel
Sense of Evil: A Bishop/Special Crimes Unit Novel

Review:The paranormal story in this book will keep you reading and thrilling you. At some parts of the book KH will try to do something that couldn't be possible, but she never did. So at least everything in this book could be "real". I won't tell you what is because I will tell you the spooky story. The problem with this book is the end of it. I think that KH didn't know how to end it and she asked one of her offspring to do it. This end is among the poorest ends I've ever read. Read more

Review:I love Kay Hooper books and bought this because of the author. Should have read the reviews first. Spoiler alert - nothing happens in the book. Nothing. I would have guessed that it was written by someone else. Read more

Hunting Fear: A Bishop/Special Crimes Unit Novel
Hunting Fear: A Bishop/Special Crimes Unit Novel

Review:The entire FEAR series is incredible. Whenever I finish one, I realize how easy it is for anyone to become a victim. The paranormal aspects of the book allow Hooper to describe the crimes and the villains much more intimately than a more traditional thriller might.

Though there aren't explicit love scenes in these novels, Hooper never forgets her roots in romance, and gives us a relationship. But you won't find yourself missing descriptions of sex as you are enthralled by the incredible... Read more

Blood Sins (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit - Blood Trilogy)
Blood Sins (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit - Blood Trilogy)

Review:(CONTAINS SPOILERS) I could not agree more with all of the previous one-star reviews. I have read Kay Hooper in the past and enjoyed her writing. This book, on the other hand, was the most laborious, overly expository, one-dimensional read I have EVER picked up. The plot synopsis suggests that Tessa will actually get inside the compound and that suspense will ensue. Nothing ever happens. I expected that Sawyer and Tessa will really connect by the end of the novel. Nothing ever happens. I expecte... Read more

Haunted (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit)
Haunted (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit)

Review:Honestly, my only complaint is that it was too short! I wanted the story to continue. I wanted more. I enjoyed the story I found myself trying to solve the crime only be completely wrong in the end. Haunted was a great addition to the Bishop/SCU series. I cannot wait to read the next. Read more
