Review:Gramm is obviously a fine writer: occasional style errors but mainly eloquent, with fine detailed investigative reporting, and objective withal, so you never feel he is selling a bill of goods - you can see his care for objectivity all over. Perhaps the layout of the book didn't call for extensive documentation or an index, but anyway, there is none. Most reviewers loved "The Chameleon", and I did too, mostly because it seemed like a real-life version of the Josephine Tey mystery "Brat Farra... Read more
Review:I bought each in the series as they were published. Definitely one of the most CREATIVE "Christian Prepper" series ever written. A fantastic job with very challenging theme material. And very entertaining to boot. Highly recommended, masterfully done Mark! Blessings Read more

Review:Non stop action, great character development, exciting and fantastical plot and riveting suspense! Loved it, and think it is one of Rollins' best!! When I introduce people to James Rollins, this is always the book I recommend first and I've read them all (but the brand new one). Read more
Review:While I was reading The Paris Wife, I began wondering about some of the Hemingway stories which had intrigued me as a young student. These stories are meant to be re-visited many times over and I am delighted by the additional selections which I had never been familiar with. This collection needs to be in everyone's library. Long live wonderful Hemingway. Read more
Review:It led the way for so many great apocalyptic yarns, and was influential in literature and in creating an awareness if the fragility of society. Isherwood was a paradigm for most civilized men. He was content to observe life, and was only dragged into life by his wife. When society fell, he calmly observed the fall of civilization, along with it. He dreamt of rescuing civilization...but settled for surviving on it's leftovers.
I wonder how many preppers read this in their formative yea... Read more
Review:Ray Bradbury was an incredible author with a great imagination. In the introduction to "Dandelion Wine" he describes how he wrote for many years and how that technique helped him to be such a prolific writer. This is also a book I have read many times and it never loses its ability to charm and bring back memories of ones own childhood. Read more
Review:The MC was intelligent for once and interesting. The story was entertaining and compelling. It took me a while to figure out the other characters but they all had I say in the story and contributed in their own way. I like where this is going and look forward to the next book! If you like the genre you should give this a shot. Read more
Review:Lovecraft is outstanding and singularly unique, but this story lacks a solid arc and conclusion. Despite this, it's still very much worth reading: the concept and premise are fascinating and quintessential Lovecraft - also, as an academic myself, I enjoyed the first-person perspective from that of a researcher.
It's a quick read, and while I finished the book wanting something more, the kindle edition was so cheap I would recommend giving it a try. (but please do not let this be the only ... Read more
Review:Like some other readers have stated in their reviews, I enjoy Pressfield's writing immensely, but this book took a bit to get started for me. I was never a huge fan of the WW2 exploits in the North African theatre of war, until I read Panzer Battles by Von Mellinthin. That reading helped me to appreciate this well researched novel. Killing Rommel is a fairly quick read. I am not as much of an Anglophile as some are. The language that is used can be a bit distracting but that is how they talk.Che... Read more
