Are You My Mother?: A Comic Drama
Are You My Mother?: A Comic Drama

Review:Hard "story" to follow! Friends say it's not the format but the storyline itself, with all it's various angles. I'm on the fence... but not liking either, honestly. I felt like it was a distracted, disjunctive experience. Read more

Howl: A Graphic Novel
Howl: A Graphic Novel

Review:Bought for class. Item as described.
5 stars isn't about the content, but about the book arriving when it was supposed to and being the one pictured/undamaged.

I didn't end up reading it. Oops. Read more

The Absolute Sandman, Vol. 1
The Absolute Sandman, Vol. 1

Review:There are some horrific stories here and some wonderful ones, but all throughout the story telling is great, even if Gaiman looks back today and sees some awkwardness and clumsiness. I especially enjoyed reading the proposal for the Sandman comic series, as it gave me a real taste for how extensive an outline can be while allowing a great deal of room to flex and follow inspiration wherever it leads. More (Captain Marvel (2014-2015))

Review:Typically the prime releases are related to the MCU, sometimes only tangentially. Brie Larson posted a photo of herself reading this compilation as well, so we will see some of this story on the big screen. Read more

Youth in Revolt: The Journals of Nick Twisp
Youth in Revolt: The Journals of Nick Twisp

Review:My husband (at the time boyfriend) gave me this book when I had been hoping for a ring. Anyway, this was almost as good! Which makes it, in a girls world, pretty awesome. I have read it through 3 times. I keep laughing. I have given it to my dad, my sister, numerous friends, my book club-everyone thinks it is hilarious and they too dub it the funniest book they have ever read.

The book starts out with Nick Twisp at 14, an unusually precocoious teen, and he has been grounded (again). This... Read more

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Minicomic Collection

Review:Ok, simply glorious. Nice format, comics somewhat oversized for reading pleasure.
Paper much nicer than found in most books these days.
Overall very high production value. At this price it feels more like a non-profit gift to the generation that grew up with these toys! Read more

In Odd We Trust (Odd Thomas Graphic Novel)
In Odd We Trust (Odd Thomas Graphic Novel)

Review:This "graphic novel" sucks big time. The illustrations are amateurish and the story line is very weak and totally disappointing as it rehashes for the most part old information about Odd before his girlfriend's death. I definitely do not recommend this trash, especially at the price of $10+. Read more

Odd is on Our Side (Odd Thomas graphic novel)
Odd is on Our Side (Odd Thomas graphic novel)

Review:Dean Koontz' "Odd Thomas" is a wonderful character brought to life in a series of text-only novels. This graphic novel is an excellent new view of him. The story is solid, the artwork is great. Recommended! Read more

Vision Vol. 1: Little Worse Than A Man
Vision Vol. 1: Little Worse Than A Man

Review:This series collection posits how the Vision family might react with and learn from (or not) from living in 21 st century suburbia. At times, this places a mirror right up to modern society's face and not all is likable. Read more

Superman: Red Son (New Edition)
Superman: Red Son (New Edition)

Review:Collects Superman: Red Son issues #1-3

There is so much more to this story than this brief synopsis, but here's something to whet your appetite: What if Superman's ship had originally landed in Russian instead of America? What if he had grown up under a Communist regime? Would he still grow up to be a hero, or would he become something else?

After years of having this book hyped up to me, you would think that it wouldn't be able to live up the hype, but it more than did.
