Review:Somehow, the heroine Kim Otto comes across as a bit of a whiner. I just didn't find her as likeable a person as Reacher is. Their suspiciousness is grating. The character of the unknown and sinister boss who is within the FBI strikes me as being forced and unlikely. It comes across as improbable.
Further, for me the writing came across as a bit loose. Lee Child is almost Hemingway-esque in his terseness and the compact and clear quality of his sentences along with simplicity of his Englis... Read more

Review:This set of stories involving Jack Reacher kept me glued to my kindle, wondering what was going to happen. Although Reacher is a character many of us are familiar with, I found myself intrigued and wanting to learn more about the agents' lives specifically why one was shot and wounded to the point that he now suffers pain and has a limp. Truly a great set stories. Can't wait for the next one. Read more
Review:If you have read the story that percipitates this book you will enjoy it even more if you haven't it won't make a big difference but it makes some what of one. I enjoyed Diane's characters but I didn't like that they thought Jack was a killer hopefully in #2 they will figure out he is a Real Hero. Read more
Review:The pacing of DEEPCOVER JACK is perfect. Author Diane Capri packs weeks worth of excitement into a couple of days! It's a bit hard for me to realize Otto and Gaspar have only been partners for just over three weeks. And yet, here they are, on the eve of a Thanksgiving holiday each would choose to spend with his/her family rather than chase the elusive Jack Reacher to the (literal) ends of the earth. The twisted logic of their boss has them crab-walking first to Houston and then to Maine in searc... Read more
Review:Jo Nesbo is a fabulous plotter but this book ended before it had begun. One could easily surmise that the book has been split in 2 and the second half, with his typically thrilling twists and turns, will be published in a second volume. Compare the length to some of his other books to see what I mean. Read more
Review:Definitely had me hooked from the first page ~ voraciously read the entire novel within a week! Every page had me salivating for more! However, was a bit of a letdown on the ending! I'm a big zombie fan so yes I'm biased but there's an actual storyline & makes you think! No spoilers here ~ go get your own copy! Read more
Review:This was a suspenseful, educational, intriguing novel with a touch of tastefully written romance. When reason, human decency, and integrity win---that's my kind of book! Well done! Will be waiting for Tepui. Read more
Review:I bought the kindle version of this book and couldn't be more disappointed. As a I wandered my way though the typo-littered text I was astounded by the blatant misogynistic attitude of the book. The female characters of the book are constantly described as childish or child-like and must be guided by the greater expertise of the men.
I've read many of Wilbur Smith books but I was seriously disappointed by this one. Not only was the editing for the kindle edition exceptionally poor but I a... Read more
Review:Roble is a fascinating character, and you'll see why from the very beginning. The way his story unfolds is thrilling, and his narrative is told in a way that makes it so easy for the reader to relate to it. Southwick's ability to describe flight is also otherworldly, making this an absolutely must-read for anyone with even a mild interest in aviation. That said, I think there's truly something here for everyone. The character development is exquisite, and if you're a fan of thrillers, you won't ... Read more
