Jack In A Box (The Hunt for Jack Reacher Series Book 2)

If you have read the story that percipitates this book you will enjoy it even more if you haven't it won't make a big difference but it makes some what of one. I enjoyed Diane's characters but I didn't like that they thought Jack was a killer hopefully in #2 they will figure out he is a Real Hero.

Still reading but near the end .. getting really good ... Details being tied together but whole story not fully spun yet .. Great read so far ... Get it & enjoy ... Especially if your a fanatical Fan of Lee Child & Reacher ...

Some readers may be tempted to pass up short stories or novellas in a series, but in this case I sure hope readers don’t. Diane Capri shares tidbits of information that come into play with the main character of Jack Reacher. FBI Special agents Otto and Gaspar continue their assignment to build a file and locate Jack Reacher as he is suspected of crimes.
Yet, here when both Otto and Gaspar attempt to do some digging into Reacher’s past to find information, they come up with less than stellar success. Readers will also get keen insight into the lives of both special agents and more mystery as to who assigned them the task and why. A quick and enjoyable look into the lives of the agents and their assignment.

Liked bringing back old characters but was disappointed in story. Expected more Reacher-like events. Too much description and telling back story for me. Also there are mistakes in fact about military service.

Read "Dont know Jack" first. These short stories follow on from it and Dianne Capri has Taken someone else's mysterious character - Jack Reacher - and by inserting to specialists Kim and Gaspar chasing the old Stories of LEE child found old Characters to revive for new twists.. IF you are a die hard reacher and want to analyse the ,mistakes dont readi it . Its a different take on new characters and in the end it will be interesting to see who the guy behind the agents pulling the strings is, anyone who would knowlingly want to bring themselves to Jack Reachers attention is brave...

DONT BUT THIS IF YOU TAKE LIFE TO SERIOUSLY IN THE REACHER WORLD !!

If you are expecting a story written in the austere but gripping style that characterizes a Lee Child Reacher novel, forget it. This profoundly pales in comparison. As I have not read anything by Capri prior to this, it's entirely possible that her published novels are more polished, having received the sort of editorial attention this little story cries out for. Cannot really recommend this; it is clunky, and - because it is the first of a serialization - lacks an ending.
