I Stink! (Kate and Jim Mcmullan)
I Stink! (Kate and Jim Mcmullan)

Review:My nephew is obsessed with "trash trucks" so this book was absolutely perfect for him. Though he can't read, he can recite the whole book to me because he memorized it based on the pages and he's only 2 1/2! Kate McMullan is a great author especially for boys! Read more

Go, Dog. Go! (Big Bright & Early Board Book)
Go, Dog. Go! (Big Bright & Early Board Book)

Review:One of my toddler's favorites! I love this little board book more than the longer paper version of Go Dog Go - doesn't take as long to read (essentially when I have to read it over and over and over again), and it withstands a bit more abuse. Read more

Sam and the Firefly
Sam and the Firefly

Review:I am reminded of myself and my neighborhood playmates when I read this book. I first read it to myself at age six (I'm now 57!). At that time, I'm sure, my perceptions of myself were more like Sam the owl. Gus the firefly was (I thought) more like my big brother and the "rotten" kids in the neighborhood. Their idea of "fun" occasionally wound up getting me or someone else hurt.

Now that I"m older and wiser, I see a bit of myself in both of these characters. While it is certainly temp... Read more

You Are My I Love You: board book
You Are My I Love You: board book

Review:I really like reading this to my child. Only downside is that the book I ordered is small in size. I was selecting the cheapest book in pricing, and did not look at the measurement in the description. Regardless of size, I love this book. Read more

The House in the Night
The House in the Night

Review:First of all, this is a ridiculously beautiful book. I purchased this book in large part because I, the parent, thought it was amazing. The real clincher, however, is that my little guy loves it as much as I do. This book has had such an impact on him that when ever he sees the night sky he points up and says "Starry dark!" This name for the night sky carries over into other books as well, such as another favorite of his, Little Owls Night, where he takes great joy in pointing out the Starry... Read more

Today I'll Be a Princess
Today I'll Be a Princess

Review:We love this book; however my one complaint is that the corners are not rounded even the slightest to the point where the book has scratched my infant. Not sure why a board book for small kids would be made this way. Read more

ABC's for Boys (Alphabet Book - Children's Book
ABC's for Boys (Alphabet Book - Children's Book

Review:Purchased this book for my toddler-age grandson, and it has quickly become one of his favorites! My daughter tells me it has even been a help during potty training as he loves to sit and "read" it over and over! ? Read more

I Ain't Gonna Paint No More! (Ala Notable Children's Books. Younger Readers (Awards))
I Ain't Gonna Paint No More! (Ala Notable Children's Books. Younger Readers (Awards))

Review:It's colorful, whimsical and lyrical. A favorite of my 3 year old (and of mine!) We actually sing most of the story. I have since bought it for several nieces, nephews, and the children of friends.

Kudos all around Read more

Amazing Machines: Big Truckload of Fun
Amazing Machines: Big Truckload of Fun

Review:These books are darling! The truck bookcase is really cute too. My autistic 3 year old (now a 4 year old) still loves these books, especially the train, tractor and car ones. I only deducted one star because for the age audience these appeal to, they should probably not have paper pages. I have had to do a lot of repair on his favorite ones. Otherwise the stories themselves and pictures are really great. Each pages rhymes. This is a great concept for a set of books as it seems most little... Read more

Amazing Airplanes (Amazing Machines)
Amazing Airplanes (Amazing Machines)

Review:A sweet story for young travelers. The animal travelers have adorable expressions, the journey is explained in rhyme but details are factual. I especially appreciate the explanation of how the air lifts the plane, and the explanations of the pre- and post-flight. This book was received with enthusiasm and read daily before/during a long trip. If you're a creative reader (adding to the book with further stories and descriptions), this book can work for as early as 18 months, and could also be an ... Read more
