Review:Bookarrived quickly. Condition was ok. Arrived ahead of delivery date, but I have not yet had an opportunity to read it as yet. It was a good price and after reading some of Anny Tyler's other works I wanted to check this one which received some positive reviews. Read more
Review:This book goes like this (according to me). Super wealthy and successful old man, kept alive by machines, is waiting for an untarnished brain so he can go on living. He already has chosen the surgeon, and he is waiting for the organ which finally comes along when his secretary is brutally murdered (aren't all murders brutal?). He wakes up with the brain of a 95 year old man in a young woman's, body.
Wait a second! Isn't 95 around about the age where dementia sets in? Oh well!

Review:Are you kidding me? Who are these people who don't believe this is a good book? The last third may seem to let down the first two thirds, but if you knew anything about Heinlein, you'd know that the beginning is just a warmup. In order to understand "Cat" you have to have read "Time Enough for Love" and "The Number of the Beast" in that order. "Sail into the Sunset" is set at about the same time as "Cat" (not that time has much meaning to these people) and would also be helpful. If you hav... Read more
Review:In the early 1940's, Robert A. Heinlein began writing a series of stories in a scenario called "The Future History" series.* He developed a historical timeline of this alternate history, along with description of future events, characters, historical trends, and stories yet to be published. By about 1950, Heinlein had pretty much completed the Future History project. But late in his career, Heinlein wrote a _coda_ of sorts to his Future History tales, _Time Enough for Love_ (1973). It featured h... Read more
Review:What a shame he died! Yet the story that takes the history of mankind "ad absurdum" will stay forever with all those who like to look at things from more than one angle. He sometimes uses too many words but the whole book is worth every minute of reading and is funny enough to occasionally be reread. Read more
Review:Most of the content was nonsensical babbling that had nothing to do with the sketchy storyline. It was like hearing about a bad acid trip that made no sense. I tried really hard to read the whole thing (I pride myself on finishing books I start) but I just couldn't bring myself to finish reading this nonsense. Read more
Review:I was excited to read the first of this series but sorry to discover that the poor translation made the read choppy, stilted and seem dated. The main character, Montalbano,is one I would have loved to pursue, but I don't think I'll spend any more of my time on this series.
A decent story line and some interesting relationships and characters but the translation got in the way. Most unfortunate.
If you read Italian, I would suggest reading this in its original language; I'm sure it ... Read more
Review:I found the author's writing style to be clumsy, and a bit contradictory. The author describes Ben as being "excited" by the thought that his girlfriend Jules may have become a victim during the attack at their hotel. To me, something to be excited about is something that is good, fascinating, something to look forward to. A similar case is when Reggie has to " disable" his own security system rather than "turn it off. Some reactions from the , characters are a little over the top. Why doe... Read more

Review:This series will be a bit more for adults with some sexual situations. However, all in good taste and not over the top. Like the Academy Series a book good to the last page. Again I loved the Academy guys. I am anxiously awaiting the next book in both book series. There were a few errors in the book, however, unless you are a stickler for absolutely perfect books, you will still enjoy this book. Hard to put down... Read more
