Review:Bill Bryson's idea of "discovering" America is driving a few hundred miles to a new city each day, and stepping no more than 25 paces away from his car. No wonder he's so bitter over everything he finds! Everything he sees is covered with concrete, greasy spoon restaurants and annoying tacky tourists. We don't get any useful information about any place he visits, only cynical commentary on the local fat people, or obnoxious tourist trap. There are a few funny moments, but most of his writing... Review:This version of play was good and the actors captured the tone of the play well. The actors playing Lady Bracknell, Gwendolen Fairfax and Cecily Cardew were very good. The male characters were portrayed at an acceptable level but not was good as the female characters. I would recommend this version. Read more
Review:Oscar Wilde must have been quite the character in his day. This play about mistaken identity is not only laugh out loud funny but cutting at the same time. He skewers the upper class with his observations about their behaviour. No wonder it has been done in countless theaters over the years and been made into at least one film that I can think of. Review:Thank you Oscar Wilde!! I loved reading this book while waiting in line for the Toronto Film Festival movies to start..... I have so many nuggets from my recent indulgence of Oscar Wilde's witty, fun, original, and rhythmical play, "The Importance of Being Earnest".
Every phrase and expression is a thought worth enjoying and applying to our life today. The play on words, the glittering conversation, the unexpected turn of phrases, it's deliciously clever and a classic it remains forever. ... Read more

Review:I was looking for some mystery writing advice and this little book was just perfect. The advice is straight to the point. It assumes you know the basics of writing and sticks to information pertinent to the genre. There are books that go into much greater detail and I may need those at some point but for now I find them overwhelming. This book will get me started on my first cozy mystery and that's perfect for now. I would encourage other writers to give this book a try off they are interested i... Read more
Review:I did not find this book particularly helpful for me. I think if might be helpful if you want to write very generic SF hero-narratives written in first person or third limited. It is mostly SF, very little emphasis on Fantasy, and his discussion of speculative fiction feels shallow and perscriptive, for creating a product, rather than really getting in depth into the meaning of what is being written. His section on characters and POV are written in such a way to assume that Omniscent doesn't e... Read more
Review:I got into Ryan Holiday as an author after reading 'Ego Is The Enemy '. I read a couple more of his books and they were interesting , educational and to some degree enlightening . This new book was nothing more than of a short story turned long . My old marketing professor would have circled in red chapter after chapter and written " Tautology " over and over taking this book from the authors idea of getting an A to the professors C+ .
It was and is a needless repetition of the same idea . W... Read more
Review:This book contains a simple blueprint for doing any creative work. It also deals with the conflicts that arise when you do the work and how you must deal with them. The quotes, and stories of famous authors and their struggles helps us to see even Melville had to struggle writing Moby DIck. This book is a gem that needs to be read by all.
