Writing
Review:As someone fairly left-brained, this book clearly defined a means by which to express my creative streak. As the book makes manifest, having a process and rules by which to write is no different than having rules that are obeyed when composing music. Or a blueprint for a building, for that matter. Many of the issues I have found myself facing in converting the ideas in my head into properly fleshed-out stories were succinctly addressed, leaving me feeling more confident and empowered to put them... Review:I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It explains why the Congo has never settled down, and probably never will. I've always wanted to do a trip along the Congo River, but now I'm too scared.
Well written, and very readable. Read more

Review:Probably the best writing teacher I have some across. William Zinsser's wisdom is simple, straight forward and he has been my guiding light for years. I have read his books and wanted to own the tape to listen to on my walkman while I walked the dogs. The tape is in practically new condition and I am so happy to have it to hear his voice. I am only sorry I never met him and was deeply saddened to learn of his death recently. Read more
Review:This was a funny book that showed the crazy things that happen on oil rigs around the world. I like the fact that the author is honest about his feelings concerning the oil industry and shows how people work in dangerous conditions to get the product to the market. The writing style is easy to read and very entertaining, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it for someone who just wants a light book to pass the time. Read more

Review:Its rare that someone can capture the complicated and sometimes boring world of wall-street's money mongering in a witty and interesting way, but Michael Lewis has done just that. In addition, after reading this book, I feel I have a good understanding of what occurred with the greatest financial disaster of our time. Read more
Review:World of WarCraft is a nearly 25 year old franchise that was originally created to be an extension of the WarHammer universe. When GamesWorkshop decided that they wanted to go another direction, Blizzard said 'Okay, sure, we will make our own game franchise'. The rest, as they say, is history.
Which is why they need these books. Lets be honest. Things have changed in 25 years. Things that the development team wrote way back then probably seemed super cool and awesome to include. But... Read more
Review:Warning. The kindle version does not have pictures. That is not made known upfront. There is a sentence before every chapter that says "Images in the book are not displayed owing to permissive issues" Also took a removal and re-download to get the footnote links to work.

Review:A very thought provoking and insightful perspective of the present through revisiting the past, as told by someone who has lived through, thought through and reported on most significant events in the recent history of this great country of ours. I recommend this book with the hope that it encourages you, as it has encouraged me, to be a participant in impacting the future of our community, our country and our world. Read more
