Now: The Physics of Time
Now: The Physics of Time

Review:Wow--what a great book! Muller's hypothesis about the flow of time is mind-blowing, and makes intuitive sense. Also, his explanation of quantum physics is by far the clearest I've read.
In addition, the author's provocative thoughts on science vs. spirituality are well worth reading. His attitude reminds me of many of the ancient Greek thinkers ("the fathers of Western science"): willing to engage reality in its fullness. Read more

Physics I For Dummies (For Dummies (Math & Science))

Review:I am having trouble in a college physics class that uses the book Modern Physics and the master physics website. I got this as a study aid. I did not intend for it to replace the textbook only supplement it. The book did not contain the formulas that I need. That is why I am only giving it 2 stars. Read more

Invisible Killer: The Monster Behind the Mask
Invisible Killer: The Monster Behind the Mask

Review:Wow! Where to begin... I bought this book after viewing the 48 Hours program entitled Deadly Obsession. I’ve been around the block several times as a psych nurse turned trial lawyer. I can say pretty honestly that I have heard it all at least once so very little shocks me. But Charlie Brandt keeps me awake at night.

I decided I would like to know more, a lot more. The murders of his wife Teri and his niece Michelle suggested this guy had developed a real taste for it. I was skeptical that... Read more

and Preparing Edible Wild Plants - A Guide to Identifying

Review:Beautiful and informative in the extreme. I doubt if I will ever be able to see even half of these plants in a lifetime. However, it is imperative to know enough to survive and thrive. Everyone should have this book as well as Thayer's other book on edible plants. Thanks and blessings! Read more

How a New Science Reveals Our Extraordinary Potential to Transform Ourselves
How a New Science Reveals Our Extraordinary Potential to Transform Ourselves

Review:For nearly a century, scientific dogma held that the brain is immutable, fixed by genes and early upbringing. Wall Street Journal science writer Sharon Begley recently visited the frontiers of neuroscience and returned with a news flash: The dogma is wrong. Researchers have discovered that the brain remains plastic, lifelong. This creates new frontiers: Stroke victims can rewire their brains using challenging exercises; deaf people can repurpose dormant auditory cortexes for other tasks; and bli... Read more
