Review:This book is such a fantastic history of an incredibly unusual childhood. It does a wonderful job of painting the picture and breaks your heart when you read of the experiences this young girl has. While I don’t know that I’d read it again, I am so glad I read it once! Read more
Review:Josh Ramo, the youngest Senior Editor and Foreign Editor ever at TIME Magazine, is both a great writer and a global citizen. A friend of mine for the past eight years, he now works as Managing Director at Kissinger Associates, Inc., which is owned and managed by Henry Kissinger. I'm not surprised that Josh chose to work for the former Secretary of State, since Josh speaks Mandarin and frequently seeks connection between the U.S. and the world at large. In his latest book, The Age of the Unthinka... Read more
Review:The first few chapters of this book could be titled "You can". This is a great step by step guide to creating your own agriculture based business. Salatin's passion is infectious. The book is full of ideas to inspire the next generation of farmers. I don't think I would have been as excited by this book if I hadn't read about Salatin in Pollan's "Omnivore's Dilema". Salatin is very in tune with the natural world and does a great job of helping others see things they may not have seen. Read more
Review:I had not purchased a new calculator for many years, and thought that the title "For Dummies" would mean that it would be very basic. It would probably be great for someone who was just upgrading from a similar TI calculator, but I needed to learn the most basic features about this calculator, and it was too advanced to be helpful for me. Review:Although the four levels of infinities can nicely fit in our local universe ... even per person/instant, and thus make our eigenvector of constants just one of infinitelt many ... it somehow forgets to ponder that, of these infinities within infinities, there are likely to be constructs which utilize their universe in total, as a quantum-like computational system. Hard to imagine that neither Tegmark nor Hawking thought this through. Read more
Review:Shipping price > book price LOL
My professor was using a different version, but the material was virtually the same. Its crazy: they change a few works, call it their own "edition" and jack up the prices. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the best 50 cents I ever spent. Read more
Review:For those of you who, like myself, absolutely loved this beautiful film and were deeply affected by it's mysterious feeling of venturing into "the great unknown", this book is a MUST BUY.
I love the idea of space travel and finding out what else is "out there", but unfortunately I am not the next Stephen Hawking, so I need my hand held through learning about "out there".
Kip Thorne does an amazing job on laying the groundwork on the basics in the opening chapters. He then applies t... Read more

Review:This is a spellbinding book -- a stunning mix of science and the spirit -- that reads like a modern-day version of "The Right Stuff." Like that classic, "Spaceship" is filled with quirky, fascinating characters who make history right before our eyes. Author Julian Guthrie clearly gains amazing access to all of these trailblazers and shows a mastery of her subject. She has written a masterpiece, full of both technical wizardry and humanity, that will appeal to rocket geeks and general audiences a... Read more
Review:you will have a better understand of just how dangerous being involved with the sea is. You will also understand just how the Men (and now Women) of the Coast Guard do their work in all kinds of weather. Day in, day out, they are people who live so that others may also live another day to battle the sea. Read more
