A North American Field Guide to Over 200 Natural Foods
A North American Field Guide to Over 200 Natural Foods

Review:Alright this new edition is a good book. Lots of color pictures and good descriptions. There are some issues though. I live in Texas and either we don't have as many as other areas or they didn't really cover what we do have but there is hardly any of my local flora in that book. However it will still be in my day pack anywhere I go and as far as I have found this is better than most and as good as any. Read more

Eastern/Central North America (Peterson Field Guides)
Eastern/Central North America (Peterson Field Guides)

Review:Good book. Wish it was written for more of a novice such as me but it does give the information I wanted. Was looking for the book to be a survival guide for an emergency or scouting, some parts were confusing but it did the job somewhat. Book would have been better if not written at an intermediate level. Read more

The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst
The Biology of Humans at Our Best and Worst

Review:The first few chapters were interesting but after a while it became apparent that this was a 350-page book that was stretched to 700 pages by means of jargon, lack of focus, and way too much detail. I can understand that many people who work in this field might give it 5 stars. But for everyone else, it is definitely not a five star book and was not worthy of all the praise it received by certain book reviews, such as Kirkus. I remember reading an interview with a writer who said it was hard to ... Read more

Sky & Telescope's Pocket Sky Atlas Jumbo Edition
Sky & Telescope's Pocket Sky Atlas Jumbo Edition

Review:I love the print version of this atlas, but not the Kindle edition. The scan resolution is poor. The navigation is underwhelming. When you look at a map, there are arrows in the margin to indicate the adjoining map. How hard would it have been to make those arrows "active" so that you would be transported to that map? Colour me disappointed! Read more

from Missiles to the Moon to Mars - The Women Who Propelled Us
from Missiles to the Moon to Mars - The Women Who Propelled Us

Review:The riveting, astonishing and inspirational story of the women who took us to space starting in the 1940s and continuing through every NASA space mission. This is a record of immense importance and a story that was nearly lost. Yet it is an edge of your seat page turner. Looking at the monumental achievement of this group of women, particularly the nearly unfunded Voyager program that resulted in the only man made objects to reach interstellar space (still functioning 44 YEARS after launch) a... Informed Decisions Using Data plus MyLab Statistics with Pearson eText -- Access Card Package (5th Edition) (Sullivan

Review:This book does not include an access to MyStatLab (access code required). If your class requires you to log in to MyStatLab, except to pay around $95 extra. With that, the price is only a little bit better then getting it from my college book store. Book came clean, new, and with a CD like expected. Read more

Campbell Essential Biology with Physiology Plus Mastering Biology with eText -- Access Card Package (5th Edition) (Simon et al.

Review:Yes, I like text and 3-ring binder format of the pages is awesome, however; there is one big problem. The book is missing pages 49-76, which was a big problem as these pages encompassed the information on my first quiz. Not happy! Read more

Walden
Walden

Review:This book is good ethically,it makes you consider how our country, and citizens ought to behave. You begin to realize that the premise of our Democratic government which Americans so pride themselves on is flawed. Thoreau makes you consider what it is you as a citizen, as a rebel, as a politician to for this country. As well as what you should do for yourself. You come to realize that perhaps the things we think we need are things that are not only unnecessary, but also things that tie us down. ... Read more
